- Intro to Tales from the Crypt. Aired on HBO from 1989 to 1996.
"Tales of horror based on the gloriously gruesome EC horror comics of the 1950's" (IMDB)
Best quality and no stupid logos since I ripped it from my own DVD. - Zábava
to this day I still want to go up the stairs
+Roberta Leonard I wonder who lives up there. And notice the camera starts to go up that way?
Yep
Cueen Mama: Heads up the stairs
Cueen Mama: Falls to death screaming as the set wasn't fully built in that direction
Cryptkeeper: "All's well that ends stairwell! HEEEEEEEEheeheeheeheehee!"
Same😂
In my opinion, one of the greatest TV show intros ever! Scared the hell out of me when I was little. It still gives me chills to this day.
That house is so mysterious it really turns on your imagination
I can't believe I used to be scared of the intro lol
i fucked miss lara
i face fucked miss lara
+Miss Lara I was sacred to...
Stay classy Casanova LOL
The intro is still so fucking scary lol
I love that shriek as we begin our descent towards the crypt.
Being a Kid in the 90s, I had Horror Anthology shows for DAYZ
Tales from the Crypt, Goosebumps, Are you Afraid of the Dark. Then I had the Tales from the Hood, Tales from the Darkside movie. It was too much for my young heart...but somehow I got through but not without PLENTY of nightmares!
Now I just fuckin LOVE Horror Anthologies!! Its my favorite kind of Horror film/TV shows.
True
ULTIMATEbudokai3 and creepshow
@@Octofox01
unfortunately, I didnt see creepshow until my early teens, and it still scared me! lol
And now, its definitely one of my favs! as well as creepshow 2.
Same!!
Same here minus too many nightmares
Always wanted to ride that "rollercoaster". As a kid, I really thought there was a rollercoaster/ride that takes you into the house lol. Watching this 20 yrs later & I'm still creeped out when that ass pops out of his coffin!
I want it to be a ride that would be cool. And ass omg lol
😂😂😂
A fun intro! Gets me into the Halloween spirit!
I was born in 85 and loved staying up to watch this!
Same here. I was born in 85 and stayed up on Saturdays watching this. It made me laugh😂
The intro scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.
I literally just posted that on my Facebook page right now
me too! I remember JUST watching the intro bcuz of how cool/scary it was.
@NickiKawaii
You're not the only one
I love how the music shifts(?) when going downstairs. Also love how the crypt keeper has long hair like a true corpse.
Brings back such amazing memories from a greater time in my history. Miss watching this on Nick back then.
A classic HBO series. Some of the stories here were not scary at all but there was a good lesson to be learned at the end.
An underrated TV gem.
Brings back some memories
I laughed so hard every time the cryptkeeper would rise out of the coffin.
Greatest T.V. Intro Ever, hands down. It's everything an intro should be: well shot, awesome theme tune, credits, and a twist. In my opinion, It's almost like a combo between video art and a commercial and that's how excellent and awesome it is! However, there is one more element that completes it...it's Tales from the Crypt!!!
This was my shit back in the day I miss it so much
Here in 2020🖐, reading everyone's comments about how this intro used to scare the hell out of y'all as kids, I thought I was the only kid at that time that would run out the room as soon as them gates start creeking✌ IM OUT! I come back to face it every now and then still creepy
No, you're not alone. Count me in. ;~)
This was one of my all-times favorite shows. I remember watching this when I was like 8 and it giving me nightmares, but I would still watch the new episodes every weekend. The intro is so classic and the Cryptkeeper was so awesome. Demon Night is one of my favorite movies of all time as well. Too bad they didn't make more TFTC movies and seasons, but it was great while it lasted.
i was 8 when this show debuted,it was something me and my dad loved to watch together late at night,he passed 2 years ago and everytime i watch this now i remember him,i cant wait to bring my kids up on this show as well
Best line ever.."Tallleess From the Crypt" lol I freaking love this show. I was such a horror dork when I was a kid. lol
I remember watching this on HBO when I just a kid back in the 80's. Take about walks down memory lane
+Lucifer Loyalist It was the late 80's it started-1989.
my childhood
I was 10 years old when this first came out on HBO
I watched it till it stopped airing without missing a single week
I was 17 years old when they showed the last one
now I'm forced to watch reruns and 70's episodes I'v already seen
but this intro NEVER GETS OLD
I love this show but the intro scared the shit out of me when I was little
I used to LOVE these as a kid. I always thought the Crypt Keeper was so cool. I still do. Watching the intro again, that gate opening, I get excited all over again!
Classic show to watch, I remember being 9 years old and watching this show like all the time and i wasn't scared at all, my mom didn't care at all if I watched it.
I remember the episode where this cop is chasing this escapee/ convict through the desert, the cop dies... I think. But the goon is like passing out, and this vulture comes and pecks his eyes out..... I remember this vividly!
"Carrion Death", starring Kyle McLachlan from Twin Peaks.
In the 90s this freaked me out every time...now not as much...now it just makes me want to make my own horror show :p
Ahhh the good ole times when I use to run when I hurd the intro. Show scared the shit out of me when I was a kid
Fun Fact: The same guy who voices the Crypt Keeper also voices Monsoon in Metal Gear Rising.
+Morgan Palmer Also apparently Bugs Bunny...lol. I know I've read that somewhere
+ScinLaeca358 No, Buster Bunny from Tiny Toons
Charles Adler voiced him in the intro, pilot and first several episodes. John Kassir took over after 10 episodes.
@@jayv7006 No, that's Charles Adler. Kassir only voiced Buster the final season.
Kill or be killed Jack,
Phnom Pehn taught me that
Wow I remember this as a child lol! This introduced me to horror and I've been a fan of horror ever since!
staying up late to watch nd screaming evertime
Me too
This scared me as a kid. Should do this to my nephews 😈
Haha please do 😂😂
If you love them, you would do it.
Do it!!!!!!! Lol
I showed this to my nephew when he was 2 or 3 and he laughed at it surprised me because first time seeing this opening was one the most fearful times in my life lol
This show was a childhood favorite of mine. I miss everything about the 90s
I remember watching this show when i was about 6 or so. Loved the Crypt Keeper still do! Watching it late at night on HBO weekly was one thing i loved doing! I could see them remaking the series, using new stories or different ones from the EC Horror Comic series that we have yet to see and it'd still be a hit today!
i remember dressing as the crypt keeper for halloween
Ya I had that costume too...it came with his Mask and an awesome brown hooded robe. One year when I was older I hung the mask outside of our house as a part of a halloween decoration, and some asshole stole it.
Me and my brother we use to always watch this at night when we were kids it use to scare the shit out of us I didn't sleep for days. Lol.
This show brings back alot of childhood memories! One time my then 84 year old grandmother watched the show's intro with me. I asked her," Where are we?" She said," In a haunted house." When it got to the part where the Cryptkeeper popped out of the coffin laughing she said and I quote," GOOD LORD!" I "died" laughing!
I've been trying to remember this show. I was only 3 when i first saw this intro i started crying and my parents would never let me watch it. Cavelinha.
I just came to watch this in the dark by myself at 5:26 as a final test of my manhood. And as soon as that coffin flew open, my body reacted with goosebumps. lol It's funny how though this isn't nearly as scary as it once once, my body still responds like it used too.
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH HEHHEHEHHUHEHUHAHAAAA , TAYUHLZ FROM THE CRRRYPT ! (heh ha !)
Steven Aguilera lol 😆
yea when i was a kid i would stay up late and watch this on hbo. a true classic
Childhood memories right here. When I was a kid I remember staying up late on Saturday nights or sleeping over at a friends to watch, fun times. One the many shows that Is loved and our parents hated.
Glad you all enjoyed my gory telling. May all your screams come true!
Did you know that the Crypt Keeper has a Christmas album? LOL! Yep. It was released in 1994, with songs like "We Wish You'd Bury the Missus", (my favorite!) "Juggle Bills" & "Deck the Halls with Parts of Charlie". I bought it for my husband about 8 years ago. It's pretty funny!
+Pam Sudsbear>Here are some suggested new tracks:
How 'bout "I'll be Hung for Christmas?" Or
I'll Have a Boo Christmas?"
"Missing Toe and Holly" is fine BUT some really
"Hip -Pot- is a Must" for Xmas---it gives you
"12 Daze of Cryptmas."
Here's some advice for kids wanting lots of toys--"Fleece- Naive Dad"
Perhaps this was one of the very first Christmas carols. The Christ himself was there in person. Remember the woman Jesus saved from the gathered crowd with their arms anxious, able and ready to stone a poor sinful woman? The song?
"Rock Around the Christmas Tree"
Then there's the flip side of the album:
"I Sawed Mummy Killing Santa Claus
"Santa Claws is Coming to Town"
From Jack da Rippah's Xmas collection--"Little st. NICK"
From Al Capone's Xmas collection---"Frosty the Hitman"
From John Gotti's---"Slay Ride"
From the patriotic Lee Greenwood---"Jingo Bell Rock"
"Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer," (Well...why change it?)
Any bodies out there wanna sing along with the devil? Here we go...
"Oh the weather outside is frightful...
but the fire is so delightful...
It doesn't show signs of stopping
and I brought some eyes for popping
since you've no place to ghoul
gimme ya soul, gimme ya soul, gimme ya soul
I hope all yall are feelin the Xmas SPIRIT!
No? Please don't go out and create your own!
good time movie's i watch 📺 again again and again
I remember this show during the 90s I was like 4 or 5 years old. xD every time I would hear the gate open(intro) I come over to see it. :)
The one and only classic.
Immortal.
Timeless.
The tv show who redefined the television 4-ever!
Cryptkeeper : "Tonight's sickening saga'.......'Tonight's decomposition' .....'Tonight's putrid piece'
I can't believe how many people said they were scared of the cryptkeeper! I was 5, and I cracked jokes with him. He wasn't scary; he was hilarious!
I have balls balls balls balls balls of steel ste steesteel steel balbababbbbballs of steel i have balls of steel
Haha I know! His jokes were so corny it was funny
Yes Exactly! I've been a horror freak ever since I was a little kid and I have always loved the Cryptkeeper! In the very early episodes he appeared a little more dark and sinister but they really turned him into a comedic character. Gotta love his horrible puns!
Lol right! And I used to get on the black one calling him Samuel Jackson.
Yeah I wasn't afraid either. I thought the intro was funny.
One of the best intros for TV.
And I bet the hike The Cryptekeeper has to go on to get groceries is a real killer!
fell in love with the series the moment i first lay eyes upon this.
My Fuckin show right here!! Use to be scared as hell!! Watched it anyways!!!!!!! 90s was all dat!!!!
Hey girl, I like you because we have simaliar interests in the nostalgia of the 90's. I see you like Brandy too!
Jamaican Prince Yes!! Love that Era! Definitely good times! Yes Brandy is a stample in my life!
***** that's what's up, I'm a 90's baby... born in 1991.
Jamaican Prince wow!! Im a eighties baby!
***** well that's cool! At least you got to to really grew up and experience the entire decade of the 90's. For me, I could only remember from 1996-1999... I had to catch up on other stuff.
You know if Danny Elfman (composer of Beetlejuice, Batman, Nightmare before Christmas) composed the theme what do you think it'd be like if Tim Burton directed an episode?
Tim Burton's Beetlejuice is pretty similar to this intro.
Yeah but Beetlejuice sort of sounded like a mix of things. Ompa music, comical music, and scary music. While this theme resembles more of just plain horror themed music.
this show really needs a return, alongside all the comedy and horror that characterize it, adaptating more ghastly stories from the comicbooks, perhaps even the two rivals of the cryptkeeper, the old witch and the vaultkeeper (the latter with his assistant Drusilla), could be included too, to make even more funnier and creepier the show.
The good old days..... mom and I used to watch this every night when I was little.. I love it..
I saw this when I was awake at age 8 I woke up on my couch by myself at night at saw intro so I was like kool ok and at the end my whole brain jumped
Same happened to me. My parents left me on the couch by myself I woke up to this intro petrified 🤯😱
@@intelligentview650 I cannot believe that I posted this comment 5 years ago! That has to be a mistake it felt like the other year lol yeah man I love tales from the crypt and creepshow i might've been younger then 8 when i seen it like i said i was just waking up right at the start of the intro and i was into it but I didnt know what was going on tales from the crypt is the only spooky show I've seen and of course goosebumps but yeah I screamed at the end when the cryptkeeper pops right out of the closet and laughs after that night I started to copy his laugh from time to time to myself of course but yeah definitely one of the times I was most scared in my life haha
@@Ghost4469 Yeah same happened to me when I was a kid. 90's kids! Our parents watched HBO and fell asleep and we woke up to this! Lol
@@GregoryMorales-uo6zegreat time to be alive in for everyone it truly is
im so lame i used to be so scared when it came on now that im older i see how non scary it is
I LOVED staying up late as a little kid and watching the crypt keeper. I somehow wasn't scared of him at all...
The crypt keeper will forever remain one of the best host ever to be on tv..you read me stories when others
Anybody else think the intro song sounds vaguely like the Beetlejuice theme?
+Adam Stabelli didn't know that. Probably why it does. lol
la la la la la la la la deedely deedely deedely deedely bum bum bum bum
Elfman wrote The Simpsons theme, too.....
amaba esta serie, la veía en el año 2002
When my sisters and I were kids, my whole family would gather one evening weekly to watch tales from the crypt, the outer limits, and millenium. Wholesome family fun! And my parents wonder why we turned out so weird.
God bless the 90's!! my childhood was awesome. I'm 29 years old now and this show used to scared the shit out of me....and still does!
Bloody disgusting has announced TNT is reviving the series! Great news!
But M Night is involved. Meh!
+Alex TwoPointO That's bad. And even worse news : Bloody Disgusting also said there's a big chance that there will be NO crypt keeper in the new series...And they also said the first season won't be based on the original E.C comics! Let's all mourn, folks!
+Mister Jensen I 've heard M.Night's done some good work in the past. Lets keep our hopes up?
The new series not being based on EC comics is fine by me
It being made by Shyamalan is not fine by me.
No Crypt Keeper? What is even the point?
tales from the crypt rules
My grandma I watched this all the time when i was a kid. She used to refer to herself as the crypt keeper in the mornings...man I miss that women so much.
I used to love watching this show with my dad when I was a little kid xD
This shit scared me as a little girl I would run in the other room every time my sisters watched this lol
I too had to either cover my eyes or leave the living room when he bursts out of his coffin. Nightmare material indeed. And that's just the intro!
MLFreese I remember them time like it was yesterday I'm 25 years old back then I was afraid to used the bathroom by my self cuz i used to think is in there waiting for me to tickle the Hell outta me
I heard they're bringing it back
I don't think you've heard right, because your comment was seven months ago.
they are but with one flaw.....m night shamalamadingdong is directing
I loved watching this and "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" (which was pretty much "Tales From The Crypt" for kids) back in the day. One episode that comes to mind is "Fitting Punishment" about the mortician who is very abusive to his nephew. Later, that asshole pushes his nephew down the stairs, but his nephew returns from the dead for revenge. So awesome!
I remember this show :) I miss the old shows.

Oh... the fond memories of watching this when I was 7 years old... gave me nightmares, but I still loved to watch it with my dad.
I always watch this every afternoon home alone when I was a kid.
Like if the Nostalgia Critic sent ya!
I absolutely love this show! I just recently started buying the seasons on dvd.
I always loved the intro thank you Danny elfman
i watched this show growing up. my little brother and me used to pretend we were going through this haunted house everyday and we'll act like we're walking and when cryptkeeper pops out we'll see who can get fall back the best ;) good times
When I was little, the Crypt Keeper was one of my most feared fictional characters. That laugh.....it haunted me for the longest time. ._.
BUT now, I've acquired an affinity for the show. John Kassir is even one of my favorite voice actors, now.
Peace to all my 90’s babies reliving this part of our childhood I just showed this to my 3 & 6 year old they love it lol
The intro to this show used to scare the shit outta me when I was little, but at 23 years old it seems funny now. Good memories though.
I use to peek from around the door when it would come on....it seemed so fascinating yet scary.
I love the Crypt Keepers Laugh, it helps me sleep at night ever since i was a child.....
I miss 90s horror shows, up all night, creature features etc. what a time to be alive
Remember watching this with my whole family when i was like 5 im 19 now, thanks dad for letting me watch this and buying me the first mortal combat and letting me play it at such a young age. With this generation it would be a bit different.
Damm I love that guy . Crypt Keeper forever.
This opening reminds me when
I was four and I watched this show.
Miss this so much.
Thank you for being a kid in the 90’s, I have such good memories and this was one of them. My mom would tell me to turn my TV off and I’d sit there and watch this whole thing scared to death lol started my love for horror movies though
Memories---I used to watch this all the time with my sisters
I loved watching this with my granny when I was younger.
just seeing the into brings back so many memories of this show as a kid!
I'm glad they made my house into the intro....
Oh god nostalgia. I used to watch this at midnight every night when I was ten.
i LOVED this show! i grew up on this!!
When I was a kid, I remember I used to sneak out of bed to watch this show when it came on real late at night/early in the morning....Don't know why I did because this show would always give me the spooks.
I came across this video because I was trying to think of shows I used to watch on TV as a kid on Cartoon Network in the 90's, and I thought of Tales from the Crypt. One of my earliest memories from childhood is watching this show.
i was about 10 when these were on tv and they were my fav :D been watchin a few episodes on here tonight, for first time in ages! still love it :D
As a kid I wanted to watch this all day
You knew it was about to get real when you heard this Intro.
