  • Mooji is a nonduality teacher and a direct disciple of the renowned advaita master Papaji.
In this video Mooji is being asked about how to deal with bad / negative memories and guilt. The questioner / disciple wants to let go of the past and overcome her negative experiences, guilt and suffering. According to spiritual teacher Mooji the problem is that she has still a tendency / habit to identify with the person / identity and with her memories, which are coming from time to time. In order to forget the past and freeing herself from guilt and bad memories he advices her to remain the witness, to remain the awareness in the background, just consciously observing her memories coming and going. So the first and most important step to take is to see and inquire: that from where the seeing is arising from, is that place poisoned? This way one can instantly see that he is already free from guilt, bad memories and past experiences and start enjoying his life. A most important video on understanding bad memories and guilt!

Mooji (born Anthony Paul Moo-Young) is a spiritual teacher / nonduality teacher, originally from Jamaica. Mooji is a disciple of the renowned Advaita master Papaji, who himself was a devotee of the advaita and non-dual master Ramana Maharshi. Mooji shares self-inquiry, directing his students to the non-dual Self by encouraging them to question who or what they are at the deepest level. One well known exercise is to identify the natural feeling 'I am' or 'I exist' and staying with this for 5 to 7 minutes at a time. Another is to come to the recognition that everything (thoughts, emotions, sensations) can be perceived, and then inquiring, "Can the perceiver itself be perceived?

she left one guru to find another, of course much better one this time, an enlighten one. My point is that maybe her "problem" is that she doesn't trust herself, and seeks all the time guidance outside of herself. Her overreliance on external guidance caused her to deny her internal feelings and ignore her internal guidance - she beat the children because she was told to do so even if deep inside she knew it was wrong. She should get in touch with herself first, her wisdom and learn how to be discerning.

Guilt and shame have nothing to do with anger, at least not in my experience. Anger can come from all angles, but guilt is nearly always personal, and it's crushing. Anger can be fleeting,, guilt however, unless resolved will stay with you a very long time. Anger can be like an energy,, it isn't always nasty. You can feel angry with yourself sometimes and it can fuel you to try harder or do better. But guilt though is like a crushing darkness that just holds you back.

    • @alesdostal1
      @alesdostal1 Pƙed 6 lety

The human mind may only be able to pay attention to one single thing, the attention subsequently fluctuates between different mental or non-mental objects very rapidly in the split of second and makes a kind of space movie from many pictures. Then one gains a sense that the one is conscious of oneself and the world. But there is no mystical spiritual Mooji’s place, where the one may be able to watch your attention from. Perhaps the human mind is able to observe itself, to be a witness of itself with the assistance of delayed memory or to create a mental witness place for a short period of time in extreme conditions.
Where is the mystical Self-realization place and unchanged accessible witness that Mooji is talking about here?

    • @mirzamay
      @mirzamay Pƙed 6 lety +7

Ales Dostal it's in the soul... It is in that which dwells outside the mind that existed before this incarnation and after. And yes in those spaces as well, thought patterns can be created to watch the others and bring healing. That is the idea and apparently it works for people. I haven't done it but that is the principal.
It's very similar to other forms of healing I've seen. The pain or thought is still there but it doesn't cut through your soul. It is scientifically possible.

As a kid I was abused and later I became an abuser too. Sometimes this bad memories pop up in my mind. I still have anger in my heart for the things i done and things that were done to me. I try to recall this memories on purpose and deal with the emotions. and just let it go. its hard. but everything will turn good.

    "Anyway"
The word "Anyway", is the pathway, to master guilt. Use it as a bridge, to become what you want to overcome.
Because when you become, what you want to overcome, you overcome what you want to become. "Anyway" begins as being consciously unconscious and being unconsciously conscious.
The simple, hard truth is that it's often difficult to integrate, when you have to carry the heavy burden of it. That's why it's good to go slowly with it. How to slowly go into cold water. You can even expand your comfort zone.
    Enter suffering willingly.
If you willingly enter into suffering, you purify yourself of it. Because only if you can face the suffering, you can change it.
The courage to be strong is the shield against the manipulative fears that attack you. Nevertheless, being strong and not letting yourself be manipulated, is the courage to be strong.
A sacrifice for love, is a sacrifice worth dying for. We don't have to undo the things we do wrong or have done wrong in life. We die for it and thus sacrifice ourselves for love. Die for your negative qualities and live for your positive qualities. This is the sacrifice and salvation of the human spirit.
Positive and negative imprints in the early days largely determine who we are. Some are positive and some are negative. However, the negative imprints can be overwritten.
And how something begins only determines one's own end, the old experience and not the next new beginning of the new experience. We find new ways to leave old ways. This is how we find salvation.
The guilt we feel is the one that enslaves us. Only when we also remember our innocence, are we free at the same time.
    I'm Sorry
For many years I carried a deep sense of guilt with me. Which has shifted again and again, as soon as I apologized for something to a person. I carried the guilt with me and tortured myself for many years. Until I realized that the only one I really had to apologize to, was myself. I have tortured myself, the most. So every day I apologize to myself for what I've done to myself. This is how I find my innocence; that I once lost, again. And by apologizing to myself, I release my feelings of guilt. And so I don't do anything to others either. Because I am at peace with myself and therefore with the world. Therefore, apologize to yourself if you feel guilty about yourself. Because you can't torture yourself and apologize to yourself at the same time. Tormenting inflicts sorrow. And apologizing takes away sorrow.
Master the guilt and regret by becoming one with it in a way that all resistance to it is accepted and integrated. Because guilt and regret are qualities of a good heart. To finally be free, apologize to yourself and so integrate the guilt and regret.
The solution to every problem is the problem itself. It came into existence and it will not leave you. However, the point of view changes, from a different perspective. This is how problems, become solutions.
No bad deed will ever be forgotten by the conscience. Treasure those bad deeds. They remind you, that you have not forsaken your humanity.
The patterns within us lead us like marionettes, on threads. Patterns are stuck resistances that can bring you a lot of suffering. Because if we fight them, we fight ourselves. The way out of the pattern, is therefore not possible, as a marionette in resistance. We can only become one with the patterns and resistances as a marionette and thus pull ourselves, by the strings.
Because in order to overcome something, you have to become one with it. It is the shift from the receiver within, to the creator within. Therefore I am not afraid. I am fear. I'm not in the dark, I am the dark. I don't project evil. I am evil. I am not suffering. I am the suffering. I don't feel guilty. I am guilt. This is the way of overcoming. Become it, overcome it.
At the same time, the patterns still exist. We have evil in us, that accuses the other evil in us. Evil accuses the other evil, as evil. And evil, that evil, accused of being evil, does not itself believe to be evil? Isn't the evil that accuses other evils of being evil, not evil in itself? If you really seek good, you will not find it in condemnation. When you realize that the condemned in you, is also the judge, then you can choose to drop the judgement.
The important thing is to look within yourself, for if you had the intention to harm someone, before you start blaming yourself, for creating something, that was not even in your control. And you will see that there is nothing to regret. Because the intention counts.
To get out of something, you have to go in. This is how you free yourself and at the same time, consciously, keep yourself captive. Because the paradoxical opposites, carry the respective opposites within themselves. This is the way out and the way in.
Pain is strength in disguise waiting, to be revealed.
The reaction determines the content. Whether something is good or bad is ultimately decided in your own mind. It doesn't live in anything or anywhere, but in your own mind's response to something. When you shift your perception of something in a more lovable way, even the worst on earth can become the best on earth.

It's the old tale "Please forgive me God please forgive me" the man said every night. One day a voice said "Son, I already forgave you, you are the one who need to make up your mind about it". I can feel her pain, but what she doesn't see is that when she left she left open a door for her children, a question in the air. I also have notice that a lot of people who feel guilt where in fact victims. She was also a victim at the time, mind control inside those comunities and the fear is real. So if she understands that she is no longer a victim and that now she can stand powerful in her truth she will feel better I believe. Il futuro non Ă© scrito. The future is not written. I agree that the outcome of this can be beautiful. I wish her peace. ❀

Do you ever recall being listened to with such love? I have not witness judgment only an openness to humanness

What good advice! Thank you. I guess we all have things like that. I am so grateful to you because every time I sit down, I just start sobbing and I don't know why...so this is so very helpful. I do have a word of advice to that lady: When I was in India, I got lice in my hair so badly that I had to shave my head! The barbershop was a little shocked when I asked them to shave my head, but it was a gift from the holy guru! Because when my hair was gone, the recurring worries and thot patterns of my whole life were also gone! It was trapped in my hair! I can't explain it, but since then I have used shaving my head several times when I felt a new bunch of compulsive worries and thoughts tormenting me. Every single time, it works! Don't think this and that about it. Just do it and be free. The devil counts on your attachment. It grows back quite quickly. Within a month you will have a thick velvet bunch of tresses, and meanwhile, it is lovely to feel the sun and wind on your head. You can get away with it for a while. I will bet you that this problem you have of memories will be much mitigated.

I do feel Mooji answered this lady quite well. I especially liked the second half of this clip. But the shame needs to be addressed. She feels so much guilt of 'what sort of person does it make me because of what I've done?' And 'what harm have I done to them?'. I don't feel the shame was addressed completely. I understand what he's saying about the crime scene. It's good. Be in your truth, the crime scene is not what you are. Face the pain, be present with it, but don't get engaged in it- you will only get wrapped up in shame. Nobody belongs to you, even your children, and you did all you could....so very good teaching.... Come from the goodness that you are

The problem is he can't deal with something as traumatic as that. I know he's saying counselling psychology etc is just going over it it may be what she needs to a certain extent. Just looking at the awareness and observing is a part of the answer but she needs proper help to heal and to love herself as she wouldn't have got involved in a cult if she had been from a stable environment. She must have self compassion and realize she is worthy of love and care and to accept herself and that she is not that person as she was under mind control. I think she needs someone specialised and then the other observation stuff can be applied because she has serious trauma.

Excelente guĂa de Mooji BabĂĄ. Aunque apenas es el principio de mucho trabajo para ella. La Ășnica soluciĂłn es renovar los nexos con la vida, renovar los nexos con los compromisos del origen de su ser. Re aprender a vivir. Re aprender a ganar. Re aprender a estar presentes. Es muy difĂcil, cuando los seres que mĂĄs amas, te tratan mal y te sobajan, e intentan hacerte sentir mal. Hay que intentarlo ...

A mother will never let go of the things she feels she did wrong by her children. One day I hope her children will realize that she does indeed love them and is regretful of her prior actions.

I hope they get out of that cult. She is cut off from them and now they are messed up, that is probably where the biggest guilt comes from. That place should be raided and shut down for child abuse so that the cycle doesn't continue. I wish she could have escaped with her children but no use dwelling on regrets. I feel for this woman and send her love. I hope her connections and her heart finds healing.
The problem is something like this isn't really in the past. It is ongoing because her children are alive and the saga continues. It's not just a past memory of something that happened once. It's very difficult to detach and heal from something like that.

Let's not forget that "mother" is just a name tag of many name tags like daughter, employee, dancer, chef, postman, friend, etc. all polluted by societal shoulds we are caught up in. We get hypnotized that one is more important and grave than the other. I once read that God don't have grandchildren, everyone has the option to learn how to talk to God direct. I like where that is pointing to, taking the pressure off "mother" once and for all, but not diminishing her either.

She was forced to do those things by the community..she was trying to survive in a power structure ruled by a cruel manipulative man. A lot like the entire power structure dominating our planet right now. Before we rush to judge our mothers and expect them to be sorry-perhaps We could pause and realize the unconscious structure we live in-it is especially cruel to women and children.
