I love Slovakia! I moved here from New Zealand last month and I've just started learning the (rather complicated) Slovak language.
Slovakia really has everything: Mountains, rivers, lakes, culture, food and wine - you name it. It's spectacular, and I'm proud to call it my new home!

Obviously, in reality not everything is as great as in the video but Slovakia has probably the highest number of medieval castles and caves per capita. If you like this sort of thing and especially trekking, you should visit the northern, mountainous part of the country. Foreign people keep telling me how beautiful it is :) Bratislava old town is also OK, but the suburbs are not that pleasant. There are some nice towns in the eastern part too, but occasionally also gypsy villages :)
Slovakia is really beautiful country, and I am proud to be SLOVAK! Its a pitty our capital Bratislava isnt looking better....if it could it would be much better and Slovakia could be even more famous....Czech people have a beautiful Prague but we have beautiful countryside, mountains, lakes, caves.......it depends of people wht they prefer more....:)

diky, puvodne jsme tam meli bydlet, ale nakonec jsme dali prednost Plesnivci a byli jsme naprosto spokojeni. Vyborny personal a dokonala domaci kuchyne, na Chate pri Zelenom plese jsem se pak zklamala, jidlo hotovky z fritaku a polevka za 60,-, :-( Ale jinak nadhera:-)

Hi i am from slovakia and i am now exchange student in holland ...holland is really beautyfull country ... but if you like old building castles and forests ..u sould go to slovakia ..i thing u will be enjoyng it ... and also we have better food :D .. maar ik vind nederlandse kaas echt lekker ...ehm i dont know if its right :) but i am also learning holland language .. tot

S Ceskoslovenskom mam jediny problem. Nechcem urazit cechov ale historia nas naucila, ze cesi slovakom vykoristovali. Ved aj tak vzniklo ceske porekadlo " Vyserme se na praci, at delaji slovaci"

When I travelled from Hungary to Poland I saw consumed hungarian cities (by Slota) at South-Slovakia. :'( And in North-Slovakia is many many gypsy ghettos, but the Charpats were very beautiful, and I saw a very long tunnel (unprofitable). I saw a paar of slovakian cities, but that were consumed also... I can't believe that Slovakia is more modern than Hungary... that's an illusion!
i really like slovakia and this advert really makes u want to go there but one problem:

podľa mňa to by sa teraz už nezopakovalo dovtedy sme boli len utláčaný národ a nejako sme si to moc neuvedomovali....keby sa dnes z nás stala jedna federatívna republika....myslím si ,že minulosť by sa už neopakovala

I think our little country will do better if every service not just hotels, restaurants would improve their standards.. unfortunately shops are not open long enough example souvenirs shop in Kosice closes at 5pm.. people at train stations at information desk speaks no English at all etc.. it is not just hotel and restaurants that tourists use .. and one more think... sales assistants are mostly not helpful.. there are still things to improve... our tourism can do better

Ako národ Slovanskí je nad inšje národi kmenovití, tak aj reč Slovanská je hlavňe narečná a muože sa bezpečňe pre svoju ňekoňečnú bohatosť, pre svoju rozvitosť a rozmaňitosť nazvať rečou reči. ~~Ľudovít Štúr~~
