When I did out my Grandmother's wardrobes after she died, I found so many "special" and "best wear" items that she had rarely worn ...... I found the same with my mother. At that point, I started getting everything out from my "specials" to enjoy them. Life is too short!
I couldn't agree more!!
Every woman has a princess dream in her heart, and *condup* gives this dream a realistic touch without making her bank account cry.
I have several of these Hermes scarves that I got in the '80s in Paris and what amazes me is that the book you got and the one I have from a decade earlier have completely different styles shown for folding them -- it seems they can be done in dozens and dozens of ways. You've inspired me to get mine out and wear them! Thank you for this.
You should definitely get your vintage scarves out! How interesting about the book ... so curious to learn yet more scarf-styling ideas!
@@ladiesafter50 I plan on doing that. There are so many new things to learn with these extra large and soft, pliable scarves.
@@ladiesafter50😅😅😅😅5❤
For my first paycheck, I didn't make any impulse purchases. Instead, I picked up a great bag from *condup* that has stayed with me for many years. This is a sign of growth and a triumph of reason.
I have 8 of them from the 80s and 90s. I love them and wear them daily - and they still look brand new.
It’s all about their exquisite quality and craftsmanship!
What a find! I have an equestrian scarf i splurged on at I Magnins S.F. in 1987/88( ugh my memory) there are so many on resale websites i decided not to get rid of it! I will now start wearing it ( at 71 ) with jeans and tshirts😂 walking dogs💯.
I agree! Just wear it!! 😅
Your presentation on wearing silk scarves is so clear and simple that it inspires me to start wearing them too. I always thought that's very complicated but you made it elegantly and easy too.❤
So glad you found it helpful and feel inspired to start wearing them!🙂
The joy of thrift shops and vintage shops, finding these wonderful treasures. Thank you for showing us ‘how to...’
Yes, indeed! So glad you found it helpful :)
What a shame you haven’t worn such a beauty!! Enjoy it now!!❤🇨🇦
Thank you! I’ll have to make up for lost time now!😉
I really appreciate this video. I have three Hermes scarves that I seldom wear. The material seems harder to style than other scarves I have. You have inspired me to try these methods. Can’t remember getting a book but I may have. It has many years since they were purchased. I got them in Paris and I can tell you that they were a real bargain compared to today’s prices. Hermes scarves are truly works of art.
So happy to hear that you will bring out your beautiful vintage scarves and give this a try!
Such a truly beautiful scarf not to be worn. It looks so elegant, so glad you will be wearing it 😍
Thank you! Much too beautiful to be sitting in a box!🙂
I can’t believe you’ve never worn this gorgeous scarf.
I’ve been wearing it lots now to make up for lost time🙂
I never realized what a stylish scarf this is! Looks great on you. 🐩🗼
You're so kind, thanks :) I didn't realize until recently as well!
I just by chance came across your video. I am so glad you are going to wear your beautiful Hermes scarf! It is beautiful and very pretty on you. I hope you enjoy, it is perfect for you!
You are so kind, thank you! I can’t believe it took me so long to bring it out, but I plan to enjoy it a lot now😀
Absolutely beautiful scarf and you exquisitely styled the scarf, in so many ways effortlessly. That was a well done video. I need to watch the video several times to get the hang of doing the different styles myself. Thank you for your demonstration.
Thank you! I had fun doing it! So glad you found it helpful :)
Please wear the scarf! Its so beautiful on you! Its on my wishlist. Thanks for sharing! 😊
You’re so kind, thanks! I’ve been wearing it and enjoy it very much!😀
Thank you for the delightful video. It seems Princess Grace would wear a scarf over her head like you did. I hope you do wear it, the colors on the scarf look so good on you.
Thank you, I had fun doing it! I agree, the last one was giving me Princess Grace/Audrey Hepburn vibes!
Wow. How versatile. You look terrific in all of the variations. Tres chic!
Merci! It's amazing how many variations you can do on one scarf :)
They also look beautiful framed as art!
That would look fantastic!
A good friend of mine was gifted an Hermes scarf & she had it framed: it’s beautiful piece of art in her living room!
You are so beautiful and classy! You can pull any look, any type of Hermèsè tying style no matter how crazy or ridiculous.
You are too kind, thank you!
Everyday is a special occasion 🙏🏻🔥🇬🇧
Absolutely right!!
CZcams just recommended you to because I'm a Lady after 50. Looking forward to your content. I luvd these scarf tying ideas!
Welcome! So glad you liked it :)
OMG, it's gorgeous! I'm so envious! Living in Florida, most of the year it's too hot to wear a silk scarf. We have a tiny window in the wintertime when we can wear them. I don't have any Hermes, but have a rather large collection of imitations or other brands of silk scarves (Echo, mostly) from back in my corporate days. I dress up like that far less frequently these days, but am glad that I have even the ones I do for when I need them; a scarf really completes an outfit nicely and makes you look so much more chic. This is inspiring me to get out my scarves and wear them one last time before the heat and humidity of summer set in here!
I agree, scarves give an outfit that finishing touch! I’ve seen some lovely Echo ones - if you have them, wear them!😀
Wear your scarves on sun hats!
Very refined look, especially with an immaculate white blouse! I have my Hermes scarf surely 40 years old and never worn either. But a bit smaller than the 35" one demonstrated here, and no book came with it. I have so many scarves that I don't wear as I don't know how to tie them. This is very helpful.
Hope you will bring out your beautiful vintage scarf and give this a try!🙂
Queen Elizabeth always looked so stylish in her Hermes scarves.
Yes, indeed!
There are a few that were made for her. I particularly like the Queen Elizabeth ll Golden Jubilee bouquet of flowers of the British Isles. There are now a few colourways
Il was too Classic
It’s great to watched the scariest can be wearing verity’s style . Thank you for the show! Love it ❤❤❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Omg, I have three all thrifted and I wear mine all the time! I also found a little box with cards that show how to tie scarves. Found it in a goodwill for $.75 enjoy your treasure.
Wow! That’s like winning the scarf lottery!🤩
Thank you so much, a wonderful video! And a great reminder that TODAY is that special day to wear your best! 💫💫💫
So glad you enjoyed it! And yes, every day is special!😀
I would learn to like it.
Very nice, you can do all that with any scarf!!!
Yes! Any similar sized scarf will work!😃
I love the scarf with the cute hat. You chose nice music too.
So glad you enjoyed the video and the music too!🙂
OMG you opened a new world for me!! Scarfs are my favorite accessory ever. Loved you video thanks a lot
I’m so glad it was helpful!!😀
That’s a classic beauty! Please wear it, it’s a gorgeous accent complementing your dark hair. Do be careful with the white background and your makeup. I can’t get over how lovely it is on you. What a lovely gift from your mother.
You’re so kind, thanks! I plan to enjoy it a lot now!🙂
Thank you! Big difference betrween the illustration and your demonstration!
So glad you found it helpful!🙂
Love my Hermes scarves! They are old but still very much in style!~
I love mine as well. And I am a fervent follower of Cranleyplace, a channel specializing in Hermès scarves. Have a nice weekend!🐩🧣
Classic Hermes never goes out of style!
NOT old. Timeless🙂
I agree with you.... they are not new, but they are definitely timeless!☺@@marciamm69
This was a charming - and useful - video tutorial.
I can see why you like your pretty scarf. Please show it the world.
Thank you!💫
So glad you found the video helpful! Yes, beautiful things are made to be shown😀
Thank you! It’s exactly what I have been looking for! I am now waiting for a part two of how to tie a scarf! ❤❤
So glad it was helpful! Yes, there are yet more ways to tie it! :)
You do justice to that beautiful scarf with your skill and your beauty!
You are so kind, thank you!😊
Love scarves! Thanks for this wonderful video!
I had fun doing it and glad you enjoyed it!
Very inspirational! Thank you! I am going to wear my LV scarf more often.
I'm so happy to hear that you feel inspired to wear your LV!
I find that scarves have a mind of their own. You have to assert your control over them!
Ha! Well said!😅
Very true :))
Thanks - these are some good ideas ….. not sure I could comfortably wear my scarves as a shirt/halter as I’d feel self-conscious, not to mention that anyone in my area would think I looked ridiculous. But you’re right about not saving these things in a drawer anymore! I’m have some I love and was considering framing them so I could admire them but they don’t all lend themselves to that. Thanks again
You made me laugh 😂 out loud and is true some of the designs look ridiculous and people look at it as an eccentricity. No worries just enjoy them.
Yes, the backless halters are definitely more daring! I think framing them is such a cool idea and would look fantastic :)
Beautiful!!!
Wow🤓 thankyou ; such beautiful looks for all those beautiful silk squares I save for "next time"..
Glad you enjoyed this! Beautiful things are meant to be worn😉
This is so helpful! I'm fortunate to own a few and I've never received a booklet! Thank you.
So glad you found it helpful! I understand that the booklets stopped being included at some point, so I feel lucky!
I just found your channel. These are very lovely ways to tie these beautiful scarves. I am a Hermes scarf collector and I wear and enjoy mine all the time. The booklet used to come free with the purchase of the scarf now it sells separately, and the prices are kind of high. Looking forward to more videos like this one. Thank you!
Welcome! Love hearing that you still enjoy your Hermes scarves :) I had no idea that they no longer include the book -- now I feel lucky!
This is wonderful! I have so many scarves, but just don’t know how to wear them. I do now! Thank you so much..
So glad to hear that this may help you enjoy your scarves now!😊
Love it, amazing.
Thank you
So glad to hear you enjoyed it!😀
Absolutely fabulous 😁
Thanks! So glad you enjoyed it!😀
New to your channel…and I absolutely loved this video. I have several, but rarely use them.
Welcome! Glad you liked the video and hope you will bring out your scarves to enjoy too! 🙂
I have always wanted an Hermes scarf! Enjoy this gorgeous treasure! ⭐🙂❤🙏🏼
Thanks so much! I plan to!😃
You made my day, thank you soooo much!!!!!!!
So glad you enjoyed it!!😃
Last week I saw a woman wearing an Hermes tie, but folded and styled with a pin. It looked amazing. Thank you for sharing. I use the silk knots Hermes app to help me as well.
Interesting to know that an app exists!
Thank you for your video really appreciated you demonstrating how to tie scarves, i have saved so I can copy 🤩some
I had fun doing it! So glad to hear you will try this out!😀
Thank you!
I am a grandma and have that scarf
So glad you found it helpful! Enjoy your scarf!🙂
Surely you’re not older than 50! If so, you’re rockin’ life, girl! I’m new to your channel and happily subbed! Your content is so useful! Thank you!

@@ladiesafter50 You’re blessed, girl! I always remind my friends’ sons to consider themselves lucky when they date a girl with a hot mother. That’s how it’s going to roll if you land her beautiful daughter.

So glad you enjoyed it!🙂
Gorgeous. Brava ♥️
Thank you so much!😊
I have a drawer filled with Hermes scarves because I love them! Once you wear one & notice the colors & see how beautifully it drapes, that’s it, you’re done & can’t wear any other🧣 At least for me!
I totally understand how that could happen now!🙂
@@ladiesafter50 Forgot…New Sub & looking forward to your videos😊
@@cynthiar7350 So glad you're part of our community!
I have a few vintage Gucci and Gumps silk squares - this will work perfectly. I love the waist belt that can hold my sunnies.
So glad you will be able to use these on your vintage beauties!
It is so interesting how much your skin tone changes once you hold the unfolded scarf before your body. I am not sure whether I like how the dark colour changes your radiance. It gets much darker as opposed to the simple white shirt that made you look so shiny. I truly like the way you show us how to work with this scarf. The black coat did not steal your vibrance.
So glad you like the scarf tying ideas! It’s very true that the colours you wear can change your skin tone and make such a difference!🙂
Thank you 🙏🏼
Thank you! Just what I needed..my husband bought me one for Christmas , and I just couldn’t style it properly❤️
So glad you found it helpful! Enjoy your beautiful scarf!😀
❤❤Thank you for your video❤❤
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it!🙂
What a great video.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Fabulous. After this video I really want you to wear that scarf every day. You’re beautiful.
You're so kind, thank you! I have been enjoying the scarf!
😍 love it
So glad to hear that!🙂
I'm going to have to pull my scarves out; as well. Did not know that there were so many ways to wear them. I only wear them two different ways!. Thanks! 😅
So glad you found this helpful and that you will bring out your scarves to try these out! :)
I wished mine came with the booklet instructions! Mine are around 10 years old & they are so lovely to wear. From what I was told by the SA, they are all hand drawn and crafted, majority of the time, there are no repeats so often you cannot buy the pieces once they are sold out. TFS how to wear the scarves in these variety of ways, even though I just stick to the one style 😂
Yes, the designs and craftsmanship are what makes these scarves so special! You can purchase the book through some online sellers, but prices can vary widely!
Tres chic 💛
Merci!🙂
Thank you for sharing the ideas from the book, but I a truly baffled that the scarf has never been worn, has been sitting in in a box for all these years.
It is baffling that I waited so long!😬
I tie them on my purse for a pop of color.
Yes, I’ve seen that done. Looks fabulous and I must try it!🙂
Great video. Beautiful scarf! Where can the instruction book be purchased?
Thank you! You can purchase the booklet from various online sellers, but prices tend to vary widely!
Love the ideas! I also love the blouse you are wearing as it goes well with all the styles. Can you link it? 😊
Thanks! I've had the Sisley blouse for about 20 years :) I had a quick look and this was the most similar style I could find: www.karenmillen.com/us/wrap-front-tailored-shirt-/BKK15382-133-18.html
Thank you so much!
Thank you for the informative video. Formula 200 is understated and unexpected. Love the look.
Is your blouse still available in shops? I would appreciate a link😊
So glad you found this helpful! I’ve had the Sisley white blouse for about 20 years, but found a similar style here: www.karenmillen.com/us/wrap-front-tailored-shirt-/BKK15382-133-18.html
@@ladiesafter50 Thank you😀
Hi Grace, where is your white shirt from? Its so pretty!
Oh, thanks! The shirt is from SIsley which I got in Hong Kong about 20 years ago, if you can believe that!
I love these scarves but have read on social media they make you look older except if tied on the handle of a purse. Please share your thoughts on this.
Fashion is subjective and I personally think it’s more about personal style. Hermes scarves are classy and elegant, and can enhance the look of any outfit, regardless of age!🙂
I love it- if anyone is willing to part with their Hermes scarf, I will happily adopt it and I promise I will give it a good home😅
I second that!😅
Thank you for sharing! What kind of a ring is this that you use in the video?
Hi! I used a men’s ring for all except the halter style where I used one of my smaller rings. Hope that helps!🙂
Hello ! Great tutorial , gorgeous scarf , thank you ! I have a question: is the main color of the scarf white or cream? Your link says : Noir/Cream/Gold, but in the video it seems more white .
So glad it was helpful! The color is more of an off-white than cream to me🙂
@@ladiesafter50 Thank you for reply .
Would you mind sharing the brand name of your shirt/blouse? Love it.❤
Sorry. Found your "answer" in another comment.😊
@@annescholten9313 Oh, great!
Can you post a link to the white shirt you’re wearing?
Hi! I bought this Sisley shirt in Hong Kong many years ago, but found one similar here: www.karenmillen.com/us/wrap-front-tailored-shirt-/BKK15382-133-18.html
I didn’t get a booklet 6 years ago in Paris
It's unfortunate that Hermes stopped including booklets at some point. They are available from online sellers, but prices can vary :)
That is exactly my question, where is the shirt from? Brand and country of purchase?
Hi, the shirt is from Sisley which I got in Hong Kong about 20 years ago!
@@ladiesafter50 thank you, I do have clothes that old and I am stopped many times by random people. Clothing from the 70s and 80s (NYC) were amazing and inexpensive. Now they are expensive and look cheap.
@@skippymoral4768 Agree, and vintage is so chic!
Hi, The shirt you are wearing really lends itself to scarves..could you please give details?
Hi! I got the Sisley shirt in Hong Kong about 20 years ago, and it’s made in Portugal🙂
I find that every knot slides out and the scarve unties. Find it hard to wear mine. The silk is soooo slippery.
I did some of the knots quite tightly which helped🙂
What is the name of the music and artists performing it?
I picked a track from my editing software and can't find the name of it now. Sorry!
I suspect I am the only person to have used an Hermes scarf as a dog-lead. Having arrived at my destination without a lead and with a large lurcher, what else could I do?
Ha, one must do what one has to!😍
Is that an Anne Fontaine white shirt? 🤍
It's a Sisley shirt that I got about 20 years ago!
@@ladiesafter50 it’s beautiful.
Do you tie the brand name scarf differently than average ones?😅
These were the instructions for this particular sized scarf, but you could use any 35” square silk scarf to replicate these looks!🙂
I have a few Hermes scarves.
I never got that booklet with my Hermes scarves.
I bought them when I was in Paris.
I don’t like any of the tie suggestions except the first one.
That’s the one I practically use when I wear my Hernes scarves, or any other silk scarf that I have.
The first way is simple, classic and stylish!
It’s a shame such a gorgeous scarf was sitting in a rubber bin for decades
Agree. I’ll have to wear it more now to make up for it!😊
Perhaps you should have folded these looks a bit slower it was impossible to try
You can slow down the video by going to settings (the little wheel at the bottom of your screen) and selecting your preferred playback speed.🙂 Hope that helps!
How do you have a Hermes scarf for 10 years and never wear it ?
I know … can’t believe I never brought it out earlier!😬
Interesting video, very chic looks - but that loud, repetitive soundtrack started grating on my nerves about 20 seconds in.
Glad you liked the looks!🙂
Why the heck would you not wear it?!?
It took awhile but I finally came to my senses!😆
Why Hermes only ? 😂
I used the instructions for this particular sized scarf, but it would work on any similar sized one!🙂
It's 'a Hermes', not 'an'. You pronounce the H. You wouldn't say 'an horse' or 'an house'.
In French, the H is silent😉
