    BeoLab 3500 was the first-ever dedicated Beolink® speaker ever released from Bang & Olufsen.
    At first it was designated LCS 9000 (Local Control System 9000 from 1992 to 1993) and was manufactured for the old Beolink® system, Master Control Link. But since one of Bang & Olufsen's great advantages is compatibility it was of course already prepared for the new Master Link system.

    I have a question, I have the first version of 3500 with MCL and when i connect my iPhone to the 3500 it works, and as far I understand all volume, bass and treble I have to change on the iPhone. But the volume is not very high even when the volume is on max on the iPhone. And it is not possible to change the volume via the remote control... Or is it possible to get the volume higher in any way?

    Hi Steve, great video as always with plenty of excellent information. I am presently however in a dilemma as my old beosystem 2500 practically stoped working and my beolab speakers 8000 are without a "daddy". I have no way to connect them to anywhere without some sort of B&O system. I was just wondering if its possible to use older besound1 to connect my beolab 8000 speakers to create a system that works? I know that there is only one socket in beosound1 ( seven pin ,aerial ) for perhaps one speaker but I have heard that splitter can be had to create connectivity for both speakers. is this a "sound " idea or you would suggest a better solution to recreate old working system? Thanks

    Hi, lovely to watch your videos and see your enthusiasm over this unique brand! Wonder if you would kindly help me: I own a Beolab 3500 MKI, purchased the 5 pin connector to 3.5mm cord, but no sound will come out of the speaker, even though I was able to program it to 'MCL' input. I think it may be a wiring issue between 8 pin and 5 pin plug maybe? the speaker keeps going back to TV or DVD input as well, quite frustrating.. I also own the Beo4 Media remote, which has buttons slightly different than most Beo4 remotes. Much obliged in advance!

      Hi Andrej,
      Glad you found my video!
      Yes, I can help! The only way to connect the speakers directly to your PC or phone is to use the 3.5mm socket on the PC, as this is the only socket where the volume of the sound can be controlled. You can connect a pair of Beolab speakers to the headphone socket of your PC using this cable:-
      soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/77-241-minijack-to-beolab-line-in-using-phono-rca-sockets-one-cable-for-two-speakers.html#/2-length-1m
      Please set both speakers to "Line" mode using the small switch next to the input sockets. If you don’t already have the mains power cables for the B&O speakers, I keep these in stock here in a choice of lengths:-

      Yes, if you have the IR version of BeoRemote One then this should be possible, but it will be more complex than using a Beo4. Versions of the remote that are Bluetooth only cannot operate a Beolab 3500. The guide included with the remote should show how to obtain the "MENU" command, then all other buttons will be the same as for the Beo4. My BEO 4 remote is stuck on TV... Looked through my digital camera and the infared is continuously firing. How do i fix that???? Thanks!!!

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  Před 5 lety

      Hi, that sounds like a button is probably stuck down, you can check this by ensuring that all the buttons on the remote are at the correct height. The first one to check is the TV button if that is showing on the display. Your local B&O store should be able to fix this for you if you can’t find the cause of the problem.

    Does the beo4 control
    Volume.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  Před 5 měsíci +1

      No, in this setup the Beo4 remote just powers the speaker on and off. Volume is controlled by the device that is playing the music (eg. your phone or TV). Pressing any button on the Beo4 while the music is playing (including the volume buttons) will power the speaker off.

    How can it be used as a soundbar if the center channel is mono? The sound would only output on one side.

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  Před 3 lety +1

      When used directly with a TV headphone socket, the TV outputs stereo sound, so the speaker works in stereo.

    Is the Beolab 3500 a class D amplifier? I ask because to leave an A or AB powered on continuously will generate lots of heat etc.. is it ok to leave this on?

    • @soundsheavenly
      @soundsheavenly  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi, Beolab 3500 has Class AB amplifiers, but they are low power amps and very well cooled via large heatsinks. Only a very small amount of heat is generated, so this isn't generally an issue if you wish to leave the speaker on all the time.
