This song is perhaps one of the most marvelous songs that he sang in Hindi films. The reason being that, he has maintained a soft silken voice throughout - even when had to go for a higher pitch. One can compare this song with that of " Oh duniya ke rakhwale" in the film Baiju Bawra in which he goes to very high pitch as he alone can do even to this date. It is then one can understand the range of his singing and his tremendous voice control. Rafi saheb aap amar hai!!!

What a romantic number by Rafi saheb with Roshan ji. The black & white movie was a musical hit with meena ji and handsome pradeep kr ji in lead. Their pair was a big hit. Rafi saheb's tone is silky in this song and perfectly suited for romance. That was golden era.

Listen to the humming of the maestro (Rafi Saab), he has to be on the key and at the same time sound casual according to the demand of the situation where the character is casually humming while penning his composition and then the maestro breaks into the main body of the song and the way he renders the first two words," Ab Kya" spontaneously brings out the quizzical element and then towards the end of the first stanza when he repeats the words, " ... kya misaal doon?" and leaves them there and blends them brilliantly with the flute for it to carry the notes just as the fragrance of a flower allows itself to be carried by the wind and all these nuances are backed by a voice that has no equal. I have yet to come across a singer who could encompass so many variations!
