The subject basically asks the addressed party to just chill for a while and enjoy the moment on a beach/seaside while the sun is setting.
I think the song you were referring with 80's drums are Golden Arrow and I Feel Good. I am not so familiar with drum beats but I swear, Filipinos are suckers for live performances with bands (in every festival, events ALWAYS have at least one band who would be one of the highlights of the fest) so I think that's why these kinds of drum beats are very evident in most of our songs. It's either because it is such a popular drum pattern or the producers want BINI songs to have this kind of familiarity to casual listeners.
And yes, they do have A Cappella versions of Huwag Muna Tayong Umuwi. You might want to check it out. You'll be amazed how one girl can hit such a low note. 😉

The reason being is because they want them to look “imported”(slang term for coming from abroad) Make others jealous because the kids grew up abroad while their friends kids stayed in PH and have broken english.

@@MotoringVibe I just noticed my typo. I meant to say "***Not*** now we go home" as the word-by-word translation. The important part is the subject "we" or "us". I noticed that in the English idiom "Let's not go home yet", the subject pronoun "tayong" is implied. This leads me to think that in Filipino, the sentence suggests a covenant. While in English, it sounds like a suggestion.
