The reason vinegar might discolour your pan is because its an acid and probably reacts with the metal of your pan. The recipy shown in this video is quite useless since its soap thats diluted with kitchen salt added and a bit of bakong soda. They all dont react or support eachother when combining
The sink wasn't even dirty. From where it started, I could have gotten that pot as clean by letting it soak for 15 min with a wet dishcloth on the dirty part and then wipe it off with the dirty pot. If you think that is "burned", you've never seen burned. I didn't watch after seeing that nonsense.
@@debralords8586agreed. This is just normal cleaning. Adding more salt and more bicarbonate will only leave residue if you don't rinse well enough. There is already sodium and carbonate in the soap!

@@rick_terscale1111 You have to be VERY careful adding vinegar to baking soda, as it will explode/expand, and spill all over the place! DO NOT add vinegar, then put the mixture in a closed bottle, or the bottle will explode. Put a SMALL amount of vinegar in a bowl and add a SMALL amount of this mixture to clean things.
Thank you for sharing! I I am definitely going to try this and I know it is going to work - have used a similar recipe but this one seems much easier to create (less mess). You are a genius!! Oh.... I am from Philly, PA in the good ole USA!
Thank you for the recipe. I will have to make this and try it. I'm from Evington VA. Hey one tip for cleaning out tea stains that I discovered for those metal cups that we love to use, hard plastic cups, tea jugs, etc. is put hot water in to fill all the way up and then dump in some dry cascade powder and let it sit for a while. Rinse out with NO scrubbing might I add and it is clean as a whistle. If tea stains are really old you may have to use a little elbow power to give it a light scrub but really comes out clean. Alka seltzer or denture cleaner works too. Just make sure you rinse it several times afterwards and sparkling clean it will be.
I worked in a restaurant. We would fill the sink with hot water & add a little liquid bleach. Soaked all the stained coffee cups in this & the stains were gone.
Regards from Pakistan 🇵🇰 . A week ago I used this solution ( though the ratio of ingredients was quite different ) on my dirty marble floors , the result was marvellous

This actually works, thank you! I was skeptical when people suggested to add salt to homemade dishwasher tablets, but now I'm a believer. I added some to my dish soap and didn't have to apply another time, going through lots of dishes. Amazing.
I saw the video and watched it about three or four times. Then I decided I need to make this I proceeded to use it and it worked amazingly well. I texted it on one side of the sink only and it's shiny shiny. Thank you for this great trip!
I make a baking soda/dish soap "paste" to wash any containers that may have held such things as pasta sauce, or any kind of high fat content food. Works beautifully to remove the grease left behind so that it never goes down the drain. I use paper towels for the initial clean for that very purpose---to prevent grease going down the drain---although a cloth (😖...too gross to think of doing!) can be used if one doesn't like to use paper towels. I've used the salt/soap/baking soda mix for 62 of my 70 years after Mom taught me to make it up and use it.

@@stanleymoore4043 I have had great success getting out stsins in carpet using Zout stain remover. Don't use too much because it is very soapy. Wet the stain slightly, work in the zout, let sit for 10 minutes. Once the stain is gone use a vinegar and water rinse to remove the excess soap. (If you don't the "stain" will appear to come back in a few weeks as the soap attaches itself to any new dirt that touches it, sticking it to the fibers. A rug cleaning guy said they only use vinegar and water to clean carpets for that reason.

Baking soda works great for cleaning grease. My husband brought home a used kitchen stove that someone was giving away. The stove was fairly new but apparently the person’s main method of cooking was frying & something happened with the roof on the house & it fell in on the stove. I tried all kinds of cleaners to try to get the grease off of the stove (degreaser, ammonia, dish detergent, etc.). Finally I decided to try baking soda & it worked great.
True...once oil spilled onto the lining of my son's car boot We tried washing with soap and water, was unsuccessful It was achieved by mopping off the oil with baking soda Always keep a box of baking soda .. .
Are you sure the stove is still safe to use if something from the roof fell on it. Surely there's a reason they got rid of it. Get it checked especially if gas

Of course it cleaned that pot with no problem because it's brand new. Come on people if you're gonna make a video do it right. Use a old dirty pan and a old dirty toilet, geez man.
Was thinking the same thing. " you call that dirty" so. . . What about a toilet that look like it shit itself 🤷. One guy used brick acid and after sitting for 15 min it was dissolving without even touching it yet. Just don't tell the EPA.

Thanks from Texas for your generously shared formula which was freely shared with you and now you have so generously and freely passed on.Blessings 😊
One-fourth of the recipe:
1/4 cup dishwashing liquid
1/4 cup distilled water
1½ tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda
(⬆️which is 1/4 of a tbsp. Note: corrected from 1/16 tsp which is 1/4 of a tsp.).
Combine ingredients into a bowl. Mix well with a hand whisk rotary blender to thicken the mixture. Pour into a clean container. I used a 3 ounce size Palmolive Dishwashing Bottle I had on hand.
I have that same Palmolive bottle! Thanks!
@@Bambisgf77 You are welcome. I find the tiny Palmolive dishwasher detergent bottle so handy. Please note I made a correction to my math for the baking soda. Add 3/4 tsp. Baking soda and not 1/16 tsp. I discovered my math error when I made a second batch as it did not thicken up like the first batch.
Sounds super l will try it. Hopefully mine will come up shining like new aIso, as well as cleaned previous to this recipe.THANKS.
The reason vinegar might discolour your pan is because its an acid and probably reacts with the metal of your pan. The recipy shown in this video is quite useless since its soap thats diluted with kitchen salt added and a bit of bakong soda. They all dont react or support eachother when combining
I am so dumb. At first I thought you meant you added the first of the four ingredients (the washing up liquid) and stopped there 😂😂😂
FOR A VALID TEST, you have to do side by side comparison cleaning process with detergent without salt added.
facts. i can get my toilet bowl that clean with just a brush and some water😆
Didn't look like the toilet was dirty
The sink wasn't even dirty. From where it started, I could have gotten that pot as clean by letting it soak for 15 min with a wet dishcloth on the dirty part and then wipe it off with the dirty pot. If you think that is "burned", you've never seen burned. I didn't watch after seeing that nonsense.
@@debralords8586agreed. This is just normal cleaning. Adding more salt and more bicarbonate will only leave residue if you don't rinse well enough. There is already sodium and carbonate in the soap!

@@iamkels5297 HI, it was a long crust.
That's incredible to know about your pots. ❤
Thank you so much for this advice! 😊

Is the liquid detergent like dish soap?
Been using detergent mixed with salt my whole life. Usually to soak overnight. Works like a charm. Now I’ll add a little baking soda…
The salt won't scratch the stainless steel sink?
It shouldn't, because it will dissolve in the water
Okay but WHY does it work? 🤔

If you add the salt and baking soda first to the water (should be warm) and THEN mix it into the soap you would have a much easier time and create fewer bubbles.
How well does it work on carpet stains?
I just assumed the salt was added last in cold liquid to help scrub the items.
@@eldenl1 do you have a ratio of vinegar to water rinse.

True...once oil spilled onto the lining of my son's car boot
We tried washing with soap and water, was unsuccessful
It was achieved by mopping off the oil with baking soda
Always keep a box of baking soda ..

A bit of Baking Soda & Vinegar together (poured on & left for a bit before rubbing out with warer) works well on stubborn stains on clothes as well
Ok
Are you sure the stove is still safe to use if something from the roof fell on it. Surely there's a reason they got rid of it. Get it checked especially if gas
