THAT'S how you beat Grant? You claw at the foundation holding up the big dinosaur bones? I could never figure out how to beat him. Seriously, who thinks of clawing at a little grey block to win the game?
The worst thing about this is that, if you try to destroy this gray things from the safe spot(behind the T-Rex skeleton, where grenades can't reach you), nothing will happen. BUT it will totally work if you do it while standing between this skelletons. Why the hell does it have to be so cryptic?!

I never figured it out either. What's funny in hindsight is that in the introduction of the level it says, "Shake a leg if you want to escape the island." It gives you the hint right there. I've facepalmed so hard because of that.
At the back of my cartridge case also explains that.
man I remember being totally sucked into this game as a kid. The music kicked ass. Especially the first two and last levels. That plus the speed of the raptor and how high he can jump made me feel so badass. As a kid this made me live out an imagination as being a deadly dinosaur ripping shit up. Good memories

I don't think I'd ever felt as empowered in a video game as when I played this as a kid.
I played this as a kid and I don't think I even made it past the sewer level hahaha
I did. But it was really hard. And if I didn't have the password I didn't always succeed at doing it again. The controllers are sucky too though.
I loved how they structured this game. In one version, you play as Grant trying to flee the island. In the other version, you play as a raptor hunting his ass down. Such a great game.
Grant must smell absolutely delicious for the raptor to put this much effort into eating him.

@@burningpegasus this game ending is sorta bittersweet. You can scape the island as raptor, but your foe Grant survives as well. A good ending would result into raptor eating him 😂
I remember having so much trouble with this game when I was a kid, but here you our making it look so easy
The opening scene of the T Rex breaking out when you play as Grant gave me nightmares as a kid
It was based on the book breakout scene
I remember when this game caused a lot of raised eye brows. Playing as a raptor to kill people was like a big deal among most adults. This was at a time when video games where considered as toys and there was no rating system back then. How far have we come when we have games like battlefield and assassins creed which objective is to kill people.
It took you 15 minutes to achieve what I couldn't achieve for 16 years.
I am always stuck at level 2-3 with all these games when I was a kid. But this brings back a lot of great memories.

@@kendallschumann2413the issue with that level is its literally programmed for you to move and jump a specific way lol it was a pain in the ass lol
I can't believe that's how you beat Grant. I made it to the final stage as a kid and could never figure out how!! Instead, I got tazed to death cause I thought I had to attack him directly.
The T-Rex at the Sega Screen used to frighten me as kid, The T-Rex still kinda scares me a little bit to this day :(
Just occurred to me that all the security guards are pallet swaps of Grant; maybe it’s the Raptor’s perspective, he sees him everywhere.
Screw all the horrible blind jumps in this game.
I never figured out why this one raptor has such a massive hateboner for Grant. He literally breaks out of the cage, catches a scent, and just goes OMG I WANT TO EAT THAT D:

Saying "You have defeated Dr.Grant" Is just a PG way of saying you fucking ripped his jugular out.
I remember whenever I directly attacked Grant on the final level the screen would just go red and the game would freeze. Every single time.
I remember trying to leap attack grant - failed every time because I think he had a lightning gun or whatever modern cattle prob thingy, toasts the shit outta you

I always wondered why the canyon music was different for the Raptor. The Raptor’s canyon music should have been used for Grant as well.
It upsets me that Sega wouldn't allow this and Rampage Edition to be included in the upcoming 30th anniversary retro games collection :(
Fun game! Insubstantial, but it's fun to play as the raptor and the Grant segments have a really strong JP feel to them.

That raptor is such a menace.
So rampage and the original jp jgenesis take place on the same island, but just two different endings and the raptor escapes on the cargo ship and grant too because he was gonna go to the roof on the helicopter but the building exploded. Nice Easter egg.
I could never pass the visitor's center level on Raptor campaign... seeing I could never figure out just what exactly to do when reach Dr. Grant. Now I know and franky I'm disappointed. Technically you didn't really beat Dr. Grant you only sent him running... again.
I used to eat the compys all the time when I played as the raptor. I wish I eat the dilophosaurs too.

I was always mad I couldnt kill the damn dilo's as a raptor... why tf does clawing them a new face hole make them just pass out?
My only experience with this game was as a rental many years ago. I think I never knew the raptor could jump on enemies. 🙁
You can grab the human enemies with a bite, too.
... For some reason, I feel like watching the Carnosaur movies. I mean, their schlocky dinosaur movies, but seeing a Raptor solo humans like this... puts me in the mood for some schlock.

Dude, I played this on PAL, and the music here is much faster due to the FPS increase.
Also, this jump was impossible and total bullshit 7:18 - I think I never got past that part.
@Over Shantae'd Doesn't work :( He hits the ceiling and gets catapulted straight down into the abyss. I had nightmares with this part, I swear.

I never could beat either characters story. Id get to the end and not be able to win. You just bring bones down on the raptors and grant.

Not really, we humans eat Cows, Pigs, Deer, Goat, and some times Horse, Dog, Cat, and Monkey. It would only be cannibalism if it ate another member of its species.

No, the Jurassic Park security guards do not appear when you play as Dr. Alan Grant.

You can get really close to Grant at the end of each level is just a tease I mean it wasn't scripted you have already killed him a dozen times
The sewer level was the one ruin my time that was a hard level

The reason why I used Velociraptor's claw attack against the Security Guards and Dilophosauruses most of the time is because its bite attack is less damaging compared to its claw attack.
@@TurkishBullet19 oh ok. I just think it’s so cool to use that move. It seems more realistic, for a game about cloned dinosaurs. Lol
