I (a Dutch-American) met my husband (black man from Barbados) on June 5 and we married 17 August. The chaplain who married us did so against his will, only because he was military with no choice. He gave us 6 months to last, but we are celebrating our 50th anniversary this August. We had five children (our only daughter died age 17) and we have 16 grandchildren!

This is very nice but I’m a mixed race black American and I was in an interracial marriage for 22 years. From 1978 to 2000. Frankly no one said anything from his family in Greece or my family or anyone we socialized with. When we travelled to his home country of Greece we were always accepted. Maybe because I’m lighter skinned, not sure. We have three gorgeous children, all successful adults. I’m engaged now to a Nigerian businessman and get more negative comments from this union, although his is very successful, highly educated and kind. Maybe it’s skin color and not race, how you are perceived not your racial identity.

I have been following them since they first started posting videos. They are truly special, and he is a really laid-back loving man. She and her children are fortunate. He really cares about ALL of the children, and it is evident in how he treats them.
