    I placed my order for a new Continental in the first week of March, and am still awaiting delivery. I have selected the Reserve trim with AWD, 30 way seats, full LED lights, and top option sound system. This should give me all of the tech features available to make this a sumptuous cruiser for extended journeys with my wife. I did not select the rear seat package, as I have no plans to be chauffeured around, or to be a VIP livery. Furthermore, the ability to fold down the second row will give us the capability to have expanded cargo capacity when traveling. I also did not select the optional 3.0L engine. The torque vectoring feature may be nice, but the standard 2.7L's 335 HP and 380 ft/lb of torque is more than adequate, with the added benefits of slightly better fuel economy and a smoother ride with the standard 19" wheels. In my opinion this is absolutely consistent with my mission for this vehicle. If I had wanted a sporty burner, I would have selected another BMW. Overall, my selections have kept the total sticker price well below 70K with no significant compromise to overall elegance.

    Ford & GM are getting out of the sedan business in Canada, but we know Cadillac is killing all 3 of their sedans, but I’m not sure if Lincoln has said what’s to happen with this. I personally hope they don’t end production for the Continental, as you said it doesn’t have the same presence as a BMW or Mercedes, but it doesn’t need to. It’s always good to offer something different, which this is.

      I think I understand what you mean by zombies. It’s unfortunately since there’s so much potential from either company, but they don’t seem to fully commit to anything.

      Christopher Street I’m glad to hear that! I’ve had a 2019 Continental Reserve for the last few days and have been enjoying it. Sometimes I find people expect every car to be a sports car, the Continental isn’t meant for that, and I love that. I hope we see more from them, my first car was an 80’s Ford sedan, so I’ll always have a soft spot for them as a manufacturer/group.

    • @christopherstreet2214
      @christopherstreet2214 Před 5 lety +1

      PRN_TestDrive what I would love to see is ... Lincoln to make Continental a sub-brand ... a super luxurious plush collection of cars and crossovers... similar to Range Rover to Land Rover

      They tried that in the 50s, only lasted 3 years. They’re halfway there in the US with the Black Label collections, it’s unfortunate we don’t get them up here though.

    Actually Lincoln Continental is priced too low, I was planning to buy the S Class Mercedes Benz before I changed my mind and get Lincoln Continental, l still have Mercedes Benz also but Lexus and Audi, BMW is over priced compared to Lincoln Continental value and services, no cheap materials in Lincoln Continental, leather and one of the most beautiful and comfortable seats ever
