We are a couple who are building our own home from the ground up in the mountains of West Virginia. You know that nothing in life is more important than family. That ending segment with Ellie walking down the path with her fishing pole AND walking away from the camera is going to happen before you know it. All 3 kids will go off to college, hopefully find their "forever" person and start their own family. I'm tearing up writing this because it just happens overnight. Cherish your kids and each other, because it doesn't last forever. I know. Believe me I know all to well.

I love watching you guys. Not only that you built your home and adding on, but you enjoy/like each other. My husband and I met at 18 and 20. After dating for 2 years we were married in 1975 and were married 46 years until he passed at 69 years old from having Parkinson’s for 11 years. We were more friends than husband and wife. He always said that, and he made me always laugh. I miss him everyday all day. We really liked each other and that’s what matters ❤❤

There is a hole in the heart which never fills up completely when you loose the beloved ones.

Oh… I love them, too… but on television they’d have no control over all of it any more! Currently, they can work at their own pace, choose content and length etc. They’ve got a HUGE following and people from around the world can watch. I’m in the U.K. if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! Television companies would limit and control them too much.

On our visit from PA to Baker, WV this past weekend for Mom’s 85th birthday, we stopped by Wild Roots Cafe on Monday. I got the Mothman Muffaletta, my wife got the Hamwich (the turkey wasn’t in yet) and they were both awesome. We got a couple of cinnamon rolls for neighbors who are fans of the channel and some cranberry almond scones for us. Again, awesome. Staff were so welcoming and friendly too. We enjoyed our stop very much. Good luck with the cafe. Appalachian Forest is burning as I right this. The Mrs is gonna try the lavender soap tonight. 😉 P.S. the electric panels by the bathroom were “dead nuts” plumb 😂

Please remember to cap the rebar with caps so nobody gets impaled. I also want to remind you to include a slope away from the house on the concrete pour. Also, a berm up against the outside block wall with make the safe room even more safe as the winds will be deflected up and over the house.
Don't know how you're furnishing your Safe Room, but you might want to put some survival foods and bottled water, beds, 1st aid kit, and a axe and saw in case your doorway is blocked by debris from the house after a strong wind storm. Absolutely love your program and always watch your hard work and you keeping your children and each other laughing and in good spirts.You've shown how a family should be and thank you for that. We were putting on our cabin roof down on the south branch last week. Way too hot for roof work. Stay safe and thank you for all your hard work. BTW ,, Josh you were right. The tukey club at the wild roots cafe is an excellent sandwhich. A 6 hour drive to taste perfection. Awesome. The parking makes it a little difficult but no biggie! Exactly what my hometown needed!

We built our safe room almost identically to yours, except yours is a few feet wider than ours. I wish we'd had that extra room. But it is truly a blessing to have it just in case.
We had several tornados rip through here in 2011. They never had them before in this region and then suddenly 3 of them. The weather is wonky now. So glad we did this.
