What lovely and pretty places, especially the little stone bridge, it feels like being in a fairytale village, very charming, enjoyable as always 💚💚
For a fairtale village bridge watch our bonus video coming this Wednesday, I think you will love it even more.
Absolutely beautiful and charming town of Halifax! My mother has a distant cousin who lives just outside of Halifax, and she is a very good artist, she has sent my mother around 3 paintings of the area, Absolutely exquisite renderings of this particular place. This is one of my most favorite places 😍 ❤️ 💕 💛 ♥️ 💖 😍!!! Thank you so much again. 💓
After living in Hebden Bridge for 41 years it's great to see it from a different angle, great video
Thank you for my trip to Hebdon bridge. How pretty along the canal and nice to see that the old mill buildings have been put to good use instead of tearing them down they have much more character than new buildings. I love the colour of the stone buildings in Yorkshire.
very👍😌 beautiful😍... village
This is a beautiful village! Thank you so much for sharing this walk about😊
What an amazing place. I take it that the weaver cottages were built by the mill owners to house the staff. Thanks again, as always. =-)
If they were weavers cottages and I could not confirm that, then yes very likely built by the Mill owners.
Each Yorkshire video is more enchanting than the last one! You are so appreciated 😊 & help make my Saturdays more enjoyable! Thanks
It was great that the canal was restored. There was so much time and effort in creating them in the first place it would have been terrible if it had been left in a ruined state. The town looks such a tranquil place and even better they have independent shops and not ruined by the likes of Costa coffee etc! Thank you for sharing with us. Have a great week.
I enjoyed the calm and peaceful canals, and pretty boats with fun names. Such interesting history during the early to mid 1800s, when cottage industries expanded into factories and changed the world. Your mention of canals, railroads, and coal made me think of Anne Lister, who lived near Halifax during this time. While I realize there were fictional elements, the show Gentleman Jack (which I just finished watching) brought to life what things might have been like in Hebden Bridge. A number of my ancestors worked in the lace trade in Nottingham. Thank you for your excellent work, and I look forward next week to another view of that fantastic Gothic folly. Cheers!
Wow beautiful. You guys are getting better and better at this.I’d say pretty much perfection.Information..excellent filming and clear very distinct well spoken manner.Thank you thank you
Beautiful place to visit 😍.if I got my uk visa definitely I will explore this places to my Indian family and friends, thanks bro for a wonderful videos..
Well once again a lovely way to spend my Sunday morning, watching one of your marvellous walks. What a pretty place, I love all the hanging baskets everywhere, they look so pretty against the stone buildings. Is England the only place there are narrow boats? Im assuming they were specifically built for the canals? Also did they used to be pulled by horses, I thought I read that somewhere? Thanks again for taking us walking. Cheers Cheryl 🙂
Hello, I am not that up on my narrow boats, but I think you find them in europe as well. Whether they originated from here or not I am not sure. Yes they did indeed, used to be pulled along by horses on the towpath!
Awesome place!!
Part of the Pride of Yorkshire!!
Thank you for watching, we really enjoyed our time in Yorkshire and will be back very soon!
Another enjoyable video. Historic towns, pretty villages, canals and more make this channel a pure delight. I look forward to each new post. Can't wait for the next adventure.
What a beautiful place , thankyou for sharing this, look forward to the next one
Love the canal walkabout, I wouldn't mind staying in one of those houseboats. Looking forward to the next one!
I would love to go on a canal boat trip, just not sure I could steer it!
So gorgeous. Thank you.
I absolutely adore Hebden Bridge! I played at an open mic night at the Stubbing Wharf (my ex called it the Stubby Dwarf) pub years ago. Thank you so much for the trip down memory lane. I just love the professional quality of your videos, they're like mini documentaries! It looks like your next video is not only deeper into Yorkshire, but deeper down memory lane for me, bittersweet, too, I must admit.
Such a beautiful village 🥹
I enjoyed every minute of the video ! ✨
Thank u🫶🏼 looking forward next week video 🙆🏼♀️ xD
This was truly enjoyable.
Thank you so much I live in West Yorkshire I'm not too far from Hebden Bridge just outside I live in Mytholmroyd the best time walking along the canal in autumn time all the different colours trees and leaves
Like Haworth, I also visit Hebden Bridge regularly. I like to get there early as it can get very busy and it can be a nightmare to park sometimes. Such a shame that Hebden, Todmorden and some other surrounding villages frequently get flooded out. Hopefully in time all the flood prevention works that they keep doing will eventually stop that happening.
On every Good Friday a Pace Egg play Performed by the Heptonstall Players, it takes place in Weavers Square in Heptonstall, overlooking the ruined church and the new church, hundreds of people turn up to watch the 4 performances throughout the day, very steep walk up to the square but very worth-while to see the play, thank you for the excellent walk arkund one of our favourite places, new subscriber here, thanks so much for taking us with you.
Hello Barbara, very interesting thank you for sharing and for joining us. When we were in Hebden Bridge we did try to drive up to Heptonstall, but there was some sort of diverson going on and the whole place was a mess. We could not find anywhere to park up and walk around. Sadly we didn't have time to leave car in Hebden and walk up. One for next time as it looked amazing!
👍😍
Looks like a beautiful place for a walk about. Lots of history, quaint shops and places to sit outside and grab a bite or a drink. Thanks again Simon and Will for all the hard work you put in bringing us these high quality tours. Looking forward to seeing the Abbey next week. Stay well! ❤
I worked in Bolbrought Manor hotel and I loved this area, Yorkshire,Leeds, York,...I 'll come back...thanks for this video
I like to listen your rich and charm voice that is gifted. Nice narration in here!!
🌹😍👍🌻
Another lovely video. So glad I saw this because I have only driven through Hebden once and that was years ago and I missed so much of what you are showing us here. A very pretty place I must say and love the fact there are no superstores evident. Quaint. Great filming again by the way.
❤ Thank You
*note we accidentally spelt the name of the town wrong in the intro! Schoolboy error Hebden Bridge*

Nice to see😊
Haya. Lovely canal & seeing all the surrounding areas, I am sure at times it is bustling, yet still has its elegant calm 🙂Thanku so much for sharing.
The Calder Valley is my home and stomping ground !! 8:00 grocery shop over the road is a squat
👌👌👌
IIRC Ted Hughes grew up here.
All small independent shops, l like that, there are so many nice spots to visit in Yorkshire looking forward to seeing more.🦘🐨🦘🐨😷
Love all the narration. It's very informative. I discovered all of these places in Yorkshire via fell running but I didn't know all of this history which you talk about in your videos. It's nice now for me in my head to add more depth to these places.
Thank you for your comment. Glad we can share. Its fun for us to find out about these places as well.
I'm really enjoying watching all your travelogue videos at the moment. Thank you very much for all of them. With regard to this one, I thought Sowerby was pronounced Sow er by as in a female pig (sow) and not "so" or "sew". Also, your pronounciation of Todmorden made me chuckle. People round here say Tod ma den with the emphasis on Tod.😍
They could well be wrong, we trying to get them right and watch other videos to see how it been said if not sure. But you are in the lap of the gods to know if they got it right! Thanks for the corrections, glad you are enjoying our Yorkshire travels.
Очень красиво ,спасибо и музыка фоновая приятная 😃👍
👍👍👍
Thanks for this lovely video which certainly brought back memories for me as I used to live in Heptonstall. My only criticism is your pronunciation of TodMORden. It 's pronounced TODmorden.
Is it possible to visit some houses and locations of some films , for example, The remains of the day or Sense and sensibility 90s?
Hello, looking it up Remains of the Day is at Dyrham Park and we have visited that. czcams.com/video/REIUK9n708c/video.html
The other is in Cornwall and we have no plans to visit at this time. We only do this as a hobby at the moment, so it depends where we are going on holiday and what is in the area.
We are going to Castle Howard in a few weeks and that has been in lots of film and tv! So hopefully you will like that. 😊Thanks for watching.
the canal is not a river, but navigation...
It's a beautiful place and disgusting the way the TV show 'Happy Valley' portrayed it as a den of drug addicts, murderers and benefits scroungers.
Just consider the opening lyrics to the show's theme song 'tower blocks above you and all you have is your benefits and barely scraping by'.
Watch this lovely video then watch the show. Are they even recognisable as the same place and same culture?
Just another mill town , problems started in the late sixties when the hippie fraternity moved in , now just full of junkies who are incidentally their children .same really .
anyone going to Hebden Bridge expecting a pretty market town will be disappointed.
The gentrification of the Calder Valley has put house prises out of the grasp of locals in the space of 30/40 years
Thank you for another visit to the charming villages in Yorkshire. I had no idea the area was so lovely and I delighted in learning so much. I especially appreciate the townsfolk resisting pressure from large department stores or multi nationals and that they prefer to promote local producers and artisans. It is idyllic, a true dream location. Your sensitive reporting is always enjoyable. xx
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. It makes shopping so much more interesting when its usual things you might not get elsewhere. I'd be more inclined to buy for that reason. Glad you enjoyed it.
