- Factorio 2.0 expansion comes out this year and there is a bunch of exciting new additions and features coming with it! In this video I go over a summary and breakdown of all the things we know so far that will be coming with the release. Based on the information provided in the Friday Facts blog posts by the Devs from August until the end of last year.

Factorio is a game in which you build and maintain factories.
You will be mining resources, researching technologies, building infrastructure, automating production and fighting enemies. Use your imagination to design your factory, combine simple elements into ingenious structures, apply management skills to keep it working and finally protect it from the creatures who don't really like you.
Join forces with other players in cooperative Multiplayer, create huge factories, collaborate and delegate tasks between you and your friends. Add mods to increase your enjoyment, from small tweak and helper mods to complete game overhauls, Factorio's ground-up Modding support has allowed content creators from around the world to design interesting and innovative features. While the core gameplay is in the form of the freeplay scenario, there are a range of interesting challenges in the form of the Scenario pack, available as free DLC. If you don't find any maps or scenarios you enjoy, you can create your own with the in-game Map Editor, place down entities, enemies, and terrain in any way you like, and even add your own custom script to make for interesting gameplay. - Hry
I still don't understand how anyone can criticize item quality (except when ignoring what they actually said about it).
Agreed, but that's with fully understanding its 100% optional. That sentence or 2 wasn't necessarily very noticeable in an entire post about cool new things. Personally I'm quite excited for quality.
Item quality even more important than modules
When they truly understand what item quality is/does, they’ll understand that “quality” is the next logical step in a factory’s production chain. It’s optional but it will add mulitiple layers of complexity to the end game. I didn’t understand it until I sat and thought on it for a while. It’s a feature that will truly excite longtime players
If its rng it sucks
We will be able to blueprint Spidertrons (&trains) including their equipment grid! That feature would be so useful in Krastorio 2 for trains right now.
Yeah it should possibly maybe release sometime between now and December.
Thankfully most of the Factorio Fanbase is quite patient and won’t whine about when it’s going to release.

We already have unlimited crack, we can wait forever
Most know that the wait will not be tainted by unfinished, broken or even unoptimized features. It will be great from the start.

I’d love to see another one of these videos around the middle of summer. I mean since this videos there’s already new belts, stacking, and Fulgora with its new “ore patch” plus better trains
Do people still not understand that with many thousands or millions of items built probability simply becomes a ratio?

The devs stated that the last planet will have a science pack in the Discord server: a few other things were also clarified in Discord.
Elevated Rail will be huge help on my 10k spm base. Currently I have to split the sectors but this can improve the throughput big time.
Just if you do it again, I would suggest using an orange or something rather than red, that better contrasts with the background. Not a big deal, as you read everything, but would have been nice to be able to read ahead/along/etc

Agreed! I do plan to make another one, maybe near the end of May that includes all the the stuff from the FFF that came after this vid.
Just a general comment, the red is nor legible on this background color. I even zoomed in and still cannot read some words. (I'm on second slide btw)
since factiorio is available for switch im playing mainly on that. is there any infos if 2.0 will be released on switch as well?
Why elevated rails and not elevated belts?
Building a rail bridge is way more expensive.
Why elevated belts when you have undergrounds?
We actually won't be able to get productivity for rocket control units, because they won't be in the game coming 2.0, not in SA and not in the base game either.
Speaking of quality, there's a mod simulating quality in 1.1. It's a bit janky but still quite deep :)
Do you think that there's a risk that it gets to bloated with mechanics and stuff? One thing I like with Factorio right now, is that it's simple in the core. This expansion adds so much that I feel like it might get to much. I don't wanna be a bummer, I really looking forward to this. This is nothing I really believe, just a concern I've had for a while. And I'd like you to tell me otherwise! 😅

I can definitely see how you'd think that because there is so much stuff being added!
One nice thing about Factorio is it's vast amount of options and toggles for stuff you want to use or be shown or not. I think a decent amount of new stuff will be able to be ignored or turned off if someone doesn't want to use some of the new features. :)
So personally I'm not too concerned at this point!

There really is no reason why wube shouldn’t bring factorio to Xbox series s/X and PS5. They successfully ported it to the Switch, so it shouldn’t be a problem. My only complaint about the Switch version, is the performance when making mega factories. Launching on next gen consoles, would make them a butt load of money and no developer deserves success, more than Wube.

Didn't know I needed electric trains until now. Power transfer through rails would be pretty epic as well!
I hope the last planet is akin to Cybertron. I am very excited about all the content so far and I know for most fans it's all about factory must grow; For me though it's all about the war machine. I play to tech up and set up a comprehensive logistic system to lay waste upon the biter hordes.
I want more enemies. Stronger, better, faster, smarter. I want ennemies that fly. I want enemies that learn. I even want enemies that use technology.
And I want all the tools to defend against them and eventually, to annihilate them.
The next level for me would be the ability to switch to a true RTS interface and take command of my robot army. That and a bit of story to give a reason for all the destruction would be cool.
Like to beat the final game you could have a 'good' ending where you manage to research and put together some incredible peice of tech that you shove into the core of the matrix to make peace with the singularity or instead, take the bad route and go full scorched earth until all that stands is you.
Pretty sure you need to play another game
There's hope. One of the first FFF about the expansion ended with concept art for a flying jellyfish/brain thing, potentially a space based or aquatic enemy. The FFF about Vulcanis mentioned something about "who knows what may awake in the depths," so we may be getting a burrowing/lava swimming enemy there, and they stated that each planet would have differing military threats. Also, the dev for space exploration, who was brought on to work on the expansion, mentioned developing a robot faction with similar interplanetary building and military abilities to the player, which might or might not have made it into the expansion.
I think powerpoint is fine.

Factorio 2.0 will be a free update for everyone, the DLC will add extra stuff but you need to pay for it.

This comment is for CZcams. These days, I am so annoyed by constant ads everywhere I look, that I refuse to buy the product if I see an ad for it. I worked for Lynsi Snyder, she taught me, the more a company advertises, the less they care about people and their employees. Think of amazon and walmart ads vs how they treat their workers. I mute ads and scroll down so I can't see or hear them, therefore they have no control on my life and the advertiser wastes money on me. Plus if they bought my data to make better ads for me, they are wasting their money. More people need to join the protest on advertised products to bring the industry back into check. If no one buys your product from ads, you'll stop pushing ads as much. Take back our media at least if, we can't take the economy.

The elevated rails sound real cool but I think it's going to kill a major part of the puzzle piece to the game. Sounds a lot like the Cliffs that everyone thought would be great until we got them. I'm also not sold on the whole other planets thing. So far it's just a pointless make work project that's going to get old real fast. That being said there are lots of good things coming and I don't think they will leave the systems as presented and will fix the elevated rails, planets. Albeit, I'm not sure how.
What do you mean? I always play with cliffs. They add difficulty to the game in the beginning. I like them

Still, Other then the videos that they crank to 11 for maximum annoyance. Do you know of any youtuber that plays with them on?
Just play vanilla then and dont buy it.
