The Sonic movies are some of the very few video game movies that fans really seemed to enjoy. Fun, energetic and surprisingly true to the source material. Around the same time as the sequel's release, it was announced that a 3rd Sonic movie and a spinoff series for Knuckles were on the way. Since then, many fans have come up with several ideas of what they think will happen in Sonic's third adventure on the silver screen. Some ideas we really like. Others?....not as much.

They CANNOT mess up Shadow in this movie! Don’t make him mediocre-like edgy, just make him a villain with a tragic backstory. Heck if they want to give him a gun and motorcycle, I imagine him stealing it from Donut Lord and threatening him. Should he kill somebody?
He doesn't have to kill anybody but he's always a threatening presence. I'll settle for that.
They fixed Knuckles and Tails so I have high confidence they'll fix Shadow

do what they did with knuckles, have him start off edgy, give him a gun but act as if he's reacting to a threat instead seeing the gun as an item of power
I feel like they can’t. They did well with Knux and Tails. SEGA probably are gonna fix Shadow in the next game or in the Froniters DLC
I think maybe Rouge could appear in the Knuckles Paramount+ series as an agent working for GUN and Knuckles would be recruited to join forces with her in an epic spy adventure
I hope that the ancient echidna tribe's backstory from Sonic Adventure gets more focus in the Knuckles spinoff, given that Sonic 3 seems to be completely skipping the first Sonic Adventure. I want to see Chief Pontiac and Tikal trying to prevent him from attacking the chao and seizing the Master Emerald before Chaos gets angered. Maybe give some more background in who Knuckle's clan was actually at war with. The stuff in Sonic Adventure is just too good to pass up, it doesn't have to include Eggman releasing Chaos but at least include elements of the tribe's backstory in some way.
Something I’m kind of wondering is how they’re gonna handle Maria’s death if Shadow’s past is explicitly shown in Sonic 3. They could imply it somehow, but given the previous movies so far are meant for all ages for the most part, I don’t think they’ll outright state that a 12 year old girl was shot (then again, the games themselves were able to get away with it, so idk).
The director and the writers already explained how much Shadow means to them and how they don't want his arc to be a replica of Knuckles so I wouldn't worry about him being written badly
I think that Shadow wouldn't fully ally with Sonic and his friends. I think he would mostly be on his own, but still trying to stop the same threat.
@@noel5323 That's how it usually works in the games, so, maybe. In my theory, if Sonic ever wants him to hang out with him and his friends, he might have to bribe him with a race afterwards.

I totally thought the Commander killed Maria. His real life actor was over 70, so he would’ve been in his 20s fifty years ago. Sonic X even included the Gun soldier who killed Maria.

Me too. And I hope they do some cute, funny Sonamy moments. It would be funny if she chased him like in the old days.
She’s the only main character who hasn’t been brought in yet. There isn’t a doubt in my mind she’ll appear in the Paramount universe. Hopefully, in the third movie.

I got a REALLY good feeling that after Shadow the next obvious character will be Amy.She is one of the main characters and they haven't shown the female characters yet and like you said she probably saw Sonic when he was little and living with Longclaw before she sent him to Earth and like Tails was impressed and admired him.She's probably gonna use a portal ring to get to Earth because she'll either be in trouble or she just heard stories about Sonic and REALLY wanted to meet him
Amy's appearance in Movie 3 alongside Shadow as new characters would be significant for Sonic’s development since it introduces two new hedgehogs and their unique origins can connect to the creation of Shadow and why he is a hedgehog in the first place.
My idea for the Longclaw situation and how Amy got to Earth is that after Young Sonic went to earth, Longclaw survives and escapes the Echidna attack thanks to an unknown threat killing the Echidna tribe and sees a Young Amy Rose telling her if she has a family and both Longclaw and Amy live together. Longclaw tells Amy who Sonic is and she is invested and wants to learn more about who he is. After Amy grows up, she is taking care of a dying Longclaw (similar to the deleted scene in the first movie with the Original Movie Sonic) and before her death, Longclaw’s final words to Amy are to go find Sonic and that she loves them both and finding their path to save the universe. Amy then buries Longclaw and then she uses her rings and tarot cards to find Sonic’s location even though it takes a while for Amy to find the right location with her thoughts and then finally arrive on Earth. Then she sees an intense battle far away when Blue (Sonic) and Red Orange (Shadow) lightning start to clash with each other in Green Hill and approaches to go there.

By using amy, they could tie in elements from sonic CD by having shadow kidnap her. Amy appears, bonds with sonic, and then is kidnapped, which would give him more motive to fight shadow and follow him to the lab. amy is also subtle enough that she won’t hog the spotlight like rouge or metal.

Silver Sonic could appear as the prototype Sonic robot with a post credits scene showing his successor either Mecha Sonic, or Metal Sonic.

Or there can be a sub-plot where G.U.N. can make Metal Sonic in hopes of neutralizing both Sonic and Shadow, but it will be revealed that Agent Stone programmed him to secretly betray him. This way, Metal can be a villain before the final act and it will make Sonic and Shadow work together as a team. Just my headcanon though.
I really want to see Amy and Metal Sonic in the movies.
It's important to note that Shadow is a straight up villian when we're first introduced to him, not only that but he's in complete control the entire time he works with Eggman so that's already a huge difference from Knuckles. Also in the movies Knuckles sided with Sonic after he saved his life, so that's also already different from the way Shadow turns good in the games.
I have a theory that Toms father or grandfather might be involved in what happened to Shadow. Mostly due to Maddie saying there has been a Wakowski in Green Hills for the past 50 years. Seems a bit too specific to be a coincidence for my taste

@@SharpDesign well, Sonic is only like a year younger in the movies. Since they still had Tails idolize Sonic like in the other universes, I think they’d also keep Amy’s crush on Sonic the same. And Sonic is no less of a badass in the movies than he is in the games, so I can definitely see Amy being impressed by him.

@@jamaribonnett4699 who insisted? Sega? Also, I hate how they’ve tried to get rid of Amy’s crush in recent years. They can’t change that. She’s had a crush on Sonic for decades, ever since she was introduced. In recent years, the IDW series is the only part of the franchise where she still acts in-character.
This is why I don't think Jim Carrey shouldn't retire yet.
He would be missed in Sonic 3, we might not see his iconic characters return such as Ace Ventura and Stanley Ipkiss/The Mask (as a HUGE long overdue apology for that God-awful sequel with Jamie Kennedy), he might not appear as Dr. Seuss in a possible biopic, and shouldn't he maybe expand his voice over work? I would love to see him voice Willy Wonka in the Netflix Charlie and the Chocolate Factory cartoon, and who knows if he could qualify as the voice of Professor Utonium in a potential Powerpuff Girls movie?
One idea I suggested was Robotnik in Sonic 3 wanting to create a team that could combat Sonic's abilities, essentially fighting fire with fire. He frees Shadow, recruits Rouge and builds Omega. To act as opposites to Sonic, Tails and Knuckles respectively. Could it happen, unlikely, but it would be interesting to see these characters as enemies and potential allies.
As for Robotnik, I'd like if Carrey did one more film to wrap up his character. They can kill off or write off his character from sequels, and have Metal Sonic continue his life's mission of defeating Sonic.

maybe Eggman will have his brain downloaded onto a computer, maybe Jim can be persuaded to continue playing the role, at least as a voice actor.

If Space Colony Ark is in Sonic The Hedgehog 3 My Mind is Gonna Go Crazy Like Hell!
I care more about Amy appearing than her backstory, but I'm picturing a novice at a warrior monk temple on Mobius (maybe alongside Cream), honing her psychic abilities and piko piko hammer. She has a vision about Super Sonic and comes to Earth to find him. As the first hedgehog he's ever seen, SONIC gets the insta crush on AMY. She's let down that he's not the golden god she's looking for, but falls for him before long.
I know that this movie will do great. I am already waiting for that damn FOURTH movie.
About hyper sonic, I think they would somehow try to put him in the story, also since Sonic Movie 3 could maybe be the last Sonic Movie. Maybe by adding a villain like Black Doom from the Shadow spin-off game, it would give a purpose for his appearance.

@@thedarkknight2424 I know some people want veteran shadow voice actors like Jason Griffith or David Humphrey to return but I think it’s most likely going to be a big movie star to voice Shadow. Hugh Jackman is a good candidate. Other potential actors I’ve heard or at least being considered to voice Shadow the Hedgehog include Robert Pattinson, Keanu Reeves, Henry Cavill, Christian Bale, Jon Bernthal, Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Sebastian Stan, Aaron Paul, Pedro Pascal, Dave Bautista, and Tom Hardy. However I also found an article saying that Jason Momoa is currently in talks to voice Shadow we’ll see if that will become reality or will it not become a reality in the future.
I think Rouge could appear in the Knuckles series either as a deuteragonist or an antagonist and maybe GUN could team up with her in the third movie.
If shadow will sacrifice himself saving the world from the ark, maybes he’s not. Maybe he’ll be in the fourth film, kinda like the elements of team dark, Rouge, Shadow and Omega.

Knuckles was always a hero antagonist who joined up with the right side, both in his videogame debuts and the movie adaption he was clearly a good guy manipulated by Eggman into thinking Sonic's bad. Shadow's motives have always been different, he was always a hedgehog lost at sea unlike Knuckles who lived and breathed his purpose as the guardian of the Master Emerald.
The Amy prediction is rock solid. In her early-mid 2000s appearances, Amy was a crazy stalker who nonetheless sided with Sonic out of love. She can run as fast as him and Shadow due to the sheer determination of catching up with him.

If we take the idea that Amy will be in the film, then 1: She should have a different character. And not as kind as I think. Sonic is shown in the games as a self-confident, self-proclaimed hero.
So Amy WILL NOT love Sonic, and try to pay little attention to him. She'll probably try to sort out Shadow somehow. Here is my idea of the plot: Our 3 abibas are sitting and watching TV, (well, that's right :\) Shadow bursts in to them with a request to return the emerald. Sonic says it's theirs, and a fight begins during which Amy appears with invisibility (as in the comics.. I don't know if she can also become invisible in real life) and then she tries to take the emerald away from the Shadow. But Sonic gets in the way. She wants to go back to her land in anger. Gresland. But our company follows her and she brings them to the council of Owls. Well, owls like talon, they're not all extinct. There, like Sonic, like Amy has a mentor: For example, a Beak. He says that now you are all a team, go fuck the shadow somehow chop. Amy with Sonic get closer and the whole company thinks of a plan how to capture the shipbuilder. During the battle for the shipbuilder. Sonic will show his tipo abilities, leads komonda to lose. Amy is wounded, but Sonic, saving her, loses Nakalza and Tails, who are captured by Shadow. Amy in death says that run on the water (as he did there in part 2) and save your friends. Sonic with tears, because during the journey he fell in love with the hedgehog. Runs activating rings. On the ground. Shadow says that now you people will pay, etc. Sonic pulls his friends out of his claws and together they destroy the small ship. But it doesn't come out. Here the owls arrive in time. Sonic asks how they realized they needed help. But then he sees pink lighting. The team meets Amy and the owls. And so the whole team got on board quickly before he flew into space. Amy's mentor is killed and she says in anger that she needs to get rid of the Shadow quickly. But only She gets on the ship. But with a conversation with the Shadow, she understands that everything can be solved in peace. And how did she manage to continue in the canon Amy was able to persuade the shadow. Finally, she and a squad of owls go back. Since they need to clean up at home. But Amy gives Sonic a promise to drive once a week.

There is a simple yet very effective way for Robotnik and Shadow to inflict great strife on the Wachowskis. The first two films and Knuckles series have effectively been about building the Wachowski family. Sonic 3 could be Robotnik's attempt to split them up.

think gerald/maria will show up(maria's death can still fit as disney's gotten away with similar things/gerald's is the one that needs to be toned down from a firing squad.),feel the 3rd movie will at least be a send off for robotnik if jim fully ends his career at it's release(better wear the fat suit like he wanted.)/think agent stone could take the mantle and hope amy(would actually love if amy actually lived on earth.) & metal sonic(could have him powered by sonic's quill and could make him the force that helps shadow decide to team up with sonic.) show up alongside rouge(cream would be nice eventually but silver would have no place here and would be better for a spin off.).

Honestly, I’ve never been quite sure if the villain in these movies is Eggman robot make sense it seems like the names have been in there changed regularly. Also, if both shadow and metal sonic making an appearance in this movie, I would like it to go with robotic first building metal sonic, metal sonic being destroyed, robot Nick discovering his ancestors work, and reviving shadow to fight sonic. On the topic of more characters being introduced, I had my own prediction that the Chaotix Detective Agency will appear in the Knuckles series. Maybe there will be a part in the series where Knuckles is doing his own thing in Green Hills, and then a Warp Ring suddenly appears, and Vector, Espio, Charmy, Mighty, and Ray come out of it, and all 6 will go out on their own adventures. I mean, this is a Knuckles spinoff series and Team Chaotix first appeared in a Knuckles spinoff game, so it's highly likely that they'll appear at some point.
They barely even appear in the games, hell we never saw Archie again until Sonic Mania, and that was originally a team that made fan games that Sonic Team contracted to make an official game in the form of Sonic Mania. Having Team Chaotix added to the mix could result in a bloated cast, similar to what was said in the video about what could happen if too many characters are introduced at once.
I would prefer if the Knuckles series involved the backstory from Sonic Adventure with the echidna tribe, maybe have Tikal make an appearance and explain how The Master Emerald got to Earth.

Here's another prediction, Sally Acorn, Bunnie Rabbot, Antoine and Rotor (or at least just Sally and Bunnie) could probably show up, cuz this could be a good way to reintroduce those characters to Modern audiences and modern fans, and could be a real treat to the fans that have been wanting those characters that come back for years now, and the director Jeff Fowler confirm that he's a huge fan of the Archie Comics and the SatAM series, and he has creative control over the movie version of Sonic
I could see that as a possibility but one thing who get in the way and it's the modern Sonic fandom, what I mean by that is online, the Sonic fandom is known for being toxic and the Amy Rose fan and shippers are said to be the most toxic, so if Sally and the other older characters got announced, modern Sonic fandom would probably get petitions made to have them not be in the movies in favor for their precious Amy Rose, so that could be a big obstacle
I also heard that another big thing could be that if Sally and the older characters got announced to appear in future movies, Sega would step in and forbid it from happening Sega themselves even confirm that they hate Sally and those older characters despite their fans, so that could be another obstacle
As for other characters appearing, the Chaotixs did have a cameo in a prequel comic that said in the same universe as the Sonic movies so it is confirmed that the Chaotixs exist in the Sonic movie universe
Edit: I forgot to mention this, also about the Amy shippers hating on Sally thing, another thing that would back this up is that there's the anime statue making company called first 4 figures, they're thinking about doing a Sally Acorn statue but surprisingly, a bunch of Amy fans actually trying to hack into their system to make sure it doesn't happen oh, there's an entire video about that so feel free to check it out, but yeah, Amy fans will go that far to make sure Sally never returns in both TV shows and movies or Comics or even merchandise
