@@Amicy the song is basically about not giving up on anything in no time. But for the context of the song, it’s about balling non-stop (enjoying the moment). The title “Erkoso” is a slang in the Kumasi area of Ghana where these guys come from which means “it’s going down” which is to say they’re basically “balling” all night till dawn and the chorus/hook suggests that. The chorus/hook says “y3 b3 y3 aa ay3 ay3 ay3 ama ade3 akye, wo nim s3 33k)so joo 33k) so, and this translates as “We are going to do this all the way till the next day, you know it’s going down “joo”(as in dawg or homie in the American slang) it’s going down (in pidgin the phrase “it’s going down” is translated as “it dey go on” and I think it was even stated in song).
The second part of the chorus/hook says “we just wanna get it, we don’t want no trouble, )mo nyaa y3 a nka y’ade nso y3 nte fo. The second part mean “they wish we sleeping (to mean they want to silence us) but you know we don’t take no warnings/ceilings (to say “we are over the top with no boundaries). Just so you know those bandannas have no gang connection it’s just the influence of American hip hop on them but unfortunately these Americans have connections with gangs with regards to their bandannas in the videos.
General Knowledge- this Ghanaian drill music came with a movement called “Kumerica” which is an abbreviation for “Kumasi and America” that was a derogatory term used to describe the people coming from Kumasi in Ghana that dressed and behaved (mimic) like Americans but has never even been to the states before but was only influenced by what’s happening in America through hip hop
@@Amicy Part 2- Hip hop has had a major influence or impact on the Ghanaian music scene which even lead to a creation of a sub genre in Ghana know as “Hip Life” which is a combination of “hip hop” music and a Ghanaian music genre known as “Hi Life” (or sometimes spelt as “High-Life”) which is basically rapping over the Ghanaian percussions or rhythms “High Life”. This genre was once widely publicized and recognized as Hip hop’s “cousin” from west Africa as was published by “The Source Magazine”. This was in the late nineties when it gained prominence with then emerging artists like Reggie Rockstone (who is created as the originator of “hip life” or for creating that term to describe his music which later became recognized as a genre in Ghanaian music) and other artists prominent artists included Obrafour (and “the last 2” group with legendary music producer “The Hammer”) VIP, Kwaw Kesse, Okomfour Kwaadee, Lord Kenya, Akyeame, Buk Bak, Tic Tac just to mention a few to now new school artists like Sarkodie, M.anifest, 5five, 4x4 etc.
