  • Today we have a great vintage refinished guitar, a 1962 Fender Stratocaster! This killer pre-CBS Strat has an incredible vibe, in very good condition overall with honest finish wear and normal signs of age. A few changed parts doesn't change how great this instrument is, and Jay is here to fill you in on the details before handing things off to Aaron Hiebert for a demo!

Jay always does a nice intro; and nice to hear this axe set with a bit less treble than usual. I love the way these old pickguards shrink away from the pickup covers, leaving a small gap. And Aaron's playing is extra outstanding on this one! This Strat sounds fab and looks just as good!

I seldom comment. He won't say it but I can because it's a good story. He won the Seattle Guitar Center regional final "King of the blues" contest 3 times when he was growing up. They flew him to Chicago, Los Angeles and San Diego where he lost in the finals each time. Interesting backstory is every single winner in the finals was a local guy from that Guitar Center. In the LA contest one of the judges came out afterward and told Aaron he was robbed. This video was back in 2010 at the Seattle finals. czcams.com/video/AMRWV-HFefM/video.html
