Don't you just hate it when your entire life is dedicated to moving at a rapid pass, then the screen goes black every time you enter a new local and you just... wait... For around 23 seconds

TAS runs of these Sonic games always make me think of the intro to cd, the way he bounces around so precisely and so quickly.

I'm glad this seems to be getting more attention recently. I wasn't expecting a full 100% run, it's really nice to see that. It's great to see the routing for getting into the past and getting both targets so quickly. Thanks. ;D
Noticed something, the game soundtrack is the Japanese one but the intro is American. Smell like personnal preference. (And multi-segment but it's a fking TAs)

Funny that one of the highest quality recordings of the animated intro is in a speed run. Nice work tho! These are always fun to watch.

I don’t see why people say that Sonic CD is a slow game with no momentum or speed, the game is really fast apart from collision chaos and whacky workbench but like come on give the game some respect for momentum
It just feels slow when compared to Sonic 2. I don't think Sonic CD is bad. It's just different. People forget it was two different developers in different countries who did these games.

Sonic CD originally wasn’t supposed to have a time travel cutscene, and time transitions were supposed to be seamless. But, you know, the Sega/Mega CD is way too slow.

Gotta love the excessive explosion noises when TAS blow things up so fast the explosions overlap. ESPECIALLY special stages. They are just “Explosion.mp3” for 10 seconds straight

It depends. In the US, yes. In Japan, it was SegaSonic The Hedgehog (weird name because a copyright thing happened back then) the arcade game, with Mighty, Ray, and Sonic as playable characters.

Hang on: the title screen played You Can Do Anything, but then, when the intro video played, it played Sonic Boom. Those intro songs are from different regions. It also has the JP soundtrack in the levels. What are you using? I really want to know!

Did anyone else get depressed playing this as a kid because of the environmental implications? The first level is tropical, and then the 2nd level is industrial, and then there's a robot sonic. It made me feel like we're all ruining the future.
When I played, I never really paid attention to that much.
@@mysticartist308 Maybe Captain Planet and Fern Gully and other shows kind of primed me to react that way. My first impression of the game was that the tropical theme was exciting, and reminded me of Aladdin or some beach paradise. When the next level was industrial with purple skies and toxic waste flowing, it felt like so many other dystopian projections of the future, like Back to the future 2's Casino or Mad Max. And then the whole Sonic CD game let's you "save the future" and warp to some alternate timeline that's not exactly tropical, but still some kind of jungle and alive with life and nature. And I was only 5, so I wasn't good at making the better future version of the level show up. Sonic for the dreamcast was great at establishing that uplifting bright bubbly tropical feel. Then the other games I had were like street shark and ground zero texas and road rash and terminator and jurassic park. Games back then for sega seemed to have a darker tone aimed at older kids. My parents should have got me a super nintendo instead.

They put the majority of the plastic in the ocean, the majority of the co2 in the air, burn more coal than the rest of the world combined, put the most cars on the road in the last 20 years, and they plan to increase their pollution for the next decade. Not to mention the animal poaching and over-fishing of the whole world's oceans. They're the number one violator of every facet of environmentalism.
