Galmoy (mid 1960's), Co. Kilkenny, Ireland.

Footage (quality better in some segments) previously uploaded by Brendan Cullinan. It provides a glimpse into the life of the rural community of Galmoy in the mid-1960s. It is thought that the footage was taken by the local priest and takes in farming activities across the seasons, the school and the children cycling home, local GAA team, an agri-show with everything from Irish dancing, field sports to showjumping. The footage ends with the wedding in 1967 of Brendan’s parents. A gem.
I was watching out for the round tower and found clearly it at 23.03.

I do think it's a little gem, maybe because it is reflective of the freedom of my early days; now consigned to history in more ways that one.
