I really think Volume 1: When Calls Galactus would have been a homerun if they had included the 1978 Kirby/Lee Fireside Graphic Novel, which has never been reprinted.

Kurtis, I really enjoyed this video. I usually just collect certain Epic lines and am always on the fence about collecting a new one. This is a great run down on an entire line really helps me decide 1) What to collect first 2) What is double dipped in other volumes 3) The uncollected material 4) (most important) What might spoil other volumes if I read certain ones. Volume one has already been reprinted once and it sold out fast, so I’m sure it will come back again. Volume 2 hasn’t been announced yet. Not sure when that volume is coming.
Would you need to wait to get volume 5 for the rebirth of thanos issues before you read thanos quest or would it be ok to start straight from thanos quest? I love watching this video and would like you to do more characters like this eg Spider-Man in the future.😀
Good question! The Thanos story does start in volume 5, but that arc get completed and Surfer goes off and does some other stuff for a bit which is where Volume 6 starts, so it is fine to jump in cold with volume 6. If you really want to read that before story, track down a trade called Silver Surfer: Rebirth of Thanos.
Does Volume 1 cut any pages out of the Galactus Trilogy or is it the complete story? I wanted to check that story out but I can’t find the FF Epic Collection Vol. 3, so I wanted to get this as a cheaper alternative.
The Coming of Galactus begins halfway through issue 48 and ends halfway through issue 50. The SS Epic doesn’t collect the first part of 48 or the last part of 50 for this reason.

Yes, you are correct, Thanos Quest is the events leading up to Infinity Gauntlet. The Epic called Infinity Gauntlet is not actually the miniseries but rather about ten issues of tie-in stories that relate to the mini-series.
That's a great question. Right now they are making Omnis of the Epics that have been out of print for a long time. Maybe we won't see Star Wars Epic reprints for a while. Time will tell.

I was in the same boat! Never read Surfer until getting the Epics and didn’t realize what I was missing.

The Return of Thanos Epic comes right before Thanos Quest Epic and is the start to the whole Infinity story.
