Definitely shocked of how good does DJI osmo pocket 3 is. That one in sensor does a lot of justice for the simple rollers. Great DIY for the community.

An Assistant Cameraman is really helpfull. Really not recomend driving and monitoring camera a solo. Thanks for tip btw, put camera in that position such a good idea.

Quick question, where do you mount your mic when recording rollers for the sounds of the turbo, exhaust?
For turbo noise I just put it in the engine bay for exhaust usually the trunk or where tow hook would go

Yup it is! If you checkout some of the mount links you’ll see I recommend this movblade one that has a 4th axis, may work best for you

我比較喜歡螺絲式，因為它比較安全，只要正確固定吸力支架就應該沒問題

I think drop the shutter a lil more to get that extra motion blur to sell the speed factor (breaking the 180’ rule)
I’ll have to check of Osmo can go lower i don’t think it can

One question I have: I live in germany and I dont think cravenspeed ships to germany (amazon is a different store as well) plus they dont have one for my car I reckon.
Cant I just use the suction mount from smallrig on my rearbumper/trunk and tether it for security? That way I am more flexible with my car choice and I guess its an alternative for the tow mount.
If you look at the movmax link i provided its the 4th axis with a suction mount, i think that would suite you better than just a regular suction cup mount. Craen does ship to you but you would need to hit them up directly via cravenspeed website!
@@tauzins Thanks for the fast reply :) Looks like an interesting 4th axis mount. For me its just hard sometimes to order something from the us because of shipping fees and in case I need to send it back for whatever reason, shipping costs again plus the time you wait is a bit meh. Thats why I was curious about the Suction cup mount from smallrig because I've seen other people using it and its available here in europe. The smallrig option would be dope but given the fact that idk how long I will own my car, a suction cup mount would maybe be better so I dont have to buy things twice.

Makes me wonder if it was actually worth investing in the Hydra Alien rig or N2 mini arm fro m Movcam. But very keen on this setup as it looks very portable and lost cost too. Cheers for the tutorial.
Depends if you’re full time filming rollers, for me this with the new movmax blade mini arm would be fine.
Insane rollers and great tutorial. Are you shooting in 3K portrait or are you cropping 4K landscape for your final product?
So for instagram I shoot 3k but for CZcams full screen I shoot 4K

Do you get video vibrations and distortion with bumps in the video with tow mount? I’ve seen others trying but with suctions and the video shakes and isn’t as smooth
I think I’ve come to the conclusion that the suction mounts people use are too loose or the arm isn’t stable enough causing vibration to the furthest away part aka the camera. Mine didn’t have vibrations at all, and my car is super stiff.

No I haven’t but tbh I don’t really want to since vertical videos come out great for insta

Usually put it in the engine bay or the tow hook hole magnetized to the actual bumper
What is your external mic setting? I tried putting the mic on the back of the car to record exhaust sound and all I'm getting is wind noise and peaking. 32 bit float and it's still hard to hear the exhaust sound. Thanks
Did you put the wind screen on? And are you taking audio from mic itself? I lowered gain to -12
Is the Cravenspeed mount supposed to come with a wrench? Mine didn’t come with one. I reached out to them and they said it didn’t come with the wrench 🤔

I would use Dlog-M because better grading and 10 Bit Footage
normal is still 10 bit footage, but yes dlog would be better if you want to color grade

Motion blur
No reason to shoot in 60fps unless you’re doing slow motion on the clip lol no reason to do that on a roller. You’ll want the most cinematic settings u can get for rollers which is 24fps at 50th of a second shutter🫡
FYI. ND4 and ND8 together are not ND12. It is ND 32 (4 times 8).

Yes typically you should. But for basic use that’s what’s I set and it worked for insta 🤷♂️.
