- After Jamahal Hill knocked out Johnny Walker in the first round over the weekend Hill told people to "Stop doubting, start believing, it's real."
#8 ranked light-heavyweight Volkan Oezdemir defies that request: I'm Still Doubting Jamahal.
Jamahal empathizes with his doubts, I mean that's understandable with the brain damage you took in your last 2 fights!!!

This is a good situation for Hill because now a guy who's ranked above him is calling him out and gives him a chance to move up the rankings if they fight.
Hill will be ranked either #10 or #11 when the new rankings come out and Volkan is ranked #8.
Above him is #7 Dominick Reyes, who needs a fight. Then #6 Magomed Ankalaev who takes on #5 Thiago Santos on March 12th.
#4 Anthony Smith needs a fight. #3 Aleksandar Rakic and #1 Jan Blachowicz will probably be matched up again later this year.
#2 ranked Jiri Prochazka will take on the champ Glover Teixeira, possibly in May. - Sport

Hill vs Reyes makes a lot of sense for both guys. Hill with a victory over a former title contenders works for him and Reyes derailing a hype job (well deserved) reminds people what he is capable of. Win/Win
That would be an awesome. I dont like this fight for Hill. He gets hit in all of his fights, rolls with the punches really well, but Oezdemir doesnt need to hit you clean, he has too much power. Oezdemir also has a good chin and can take a war, unlike Johnny Walker. It would be a fun fight

@@-pusherman-8985 3-round wars with KO artists Latifi, OSP, Reyes, Anthony Smith, Rakic, and he was never even dropped, the first time he was dropped was in an incredibly violent war with Prochazca, a guy that knocks out like 95% of his opponents, including top fighters Nemkov and Reyes, both guys also with a great chin

Reyes will probably be out another year. He took the type of beating a lot of people don’t come back from.
Even if they do, sometimes they’re never the same. See; Renan Barao, Mike perry, Conor mcgregor, etc etc
Conor's change isn't from taking a beating. It's from doing primarily boxing training which narrowed his stance and he became more predictable.

Good fact check there on Jiri. Jamal is actually wrong there a bit. Jiri may be new to the UFC, but he isn't new in terms of career.
I myself didn't know much about him when he first came into the UFC so I decided to do some research. Jiri's a high level guy who has taken out various high level fighters across multiple organizations--some of those guy are either champs or top ranked in some of those organizations today. Guy's a veteran and wasn't fighting tin cans. Jiri beat Oozdemir so easily because he's seen his type before. Apparently Oozdemir did less research than I did, and got beat up badly for it.
Frankly, I think Jiri stands a good chance of beating Glover at 205lbs if that match-up is made. Again, Jiri is an experienced vet. Don't let that fresh style fool you.

Anthony Smith earned where he's at and shouldn't even think about fighting until dust settles at the top. All the fights available for him are not rewarding at all especially when he gave these young bucks wt like 3 chances to jump him and none of them came close so Anthony definitely deserves to fight up instead of fighting down f these guys Anthony is proven let them fight each other Volcan is actually a good fight for Hill. If I waa Hill and I was really confident about my talent I would have called the dude out that Manhandled him in Paul Craig bc I would want that one back but that's my opinion if I was Hill.

He didn't look THAT good. Big looping shot that defends punches with either head movement, or his head. Not everyone at 205 is awkward with their hands down.
