- Sarah Biffin (1784-1850) totally mastered the art of watercolour. Teaching herself to write and draw from a young age, Biffin rose to fame and achieved international recognition as a miniature painter. Emma Rutherford, co-curator of "Without Hands": The Art of Sarah Biffin looks into Biffin's painting technique and the materials she used.
This exhibition, established upon ground-breaking primary research, is the first of its kind to present Biffin’s artistic achievements and represent her history.
