    It’s sad the era of social media makes too many people believe they have the capacity to be a reviewer and critic on art, clearly themes of foreshadowing, story building and metaphors threaded into the story all flew past your head. I rest my case
    These new age of reaction impressionists are all about hot takes and trying to be controversial just to be and not because you understand and want to challenge the status quo

    8:41 - Are you serious? Megumi was in *absolutely* no condition to fight Haruta. Just before he was sneak-attacked, Toji was whooping his ass all across Shibuya. He was knocked out of a building and onto the streets, kicked into an 18-wheeler, then a car, and then Toji kicked that same 18-wheeler at Megumi. That's insane. He was beaten all over and stabbed in his abdomen with Playful Cloud. Megumi was almost totaly deprived of cursed energy, and he couldn't use another domain expansion. How tf was Megumi going to beat Haruta on his own?
    11:16 - But we actually don't know that. We didn't see Nanami check on Maki and Naobito on screen, but that doesn't nessessarily mean it didn't happen. His line "Where are Maki and Mr. Naobito? What happened to them?" actually suggested that he didn't know where they were or what happened to them after their encounter with Jogo, so who knows what really happened. Maybe we'll find out in a future episode. I'm not sure what good calling for backup would have done him since Jogo had already turned into a rotisserie chicken. He obviously wasn't going to last much longer, so there's no way he would have been able to check on Megumi, let alone find him first.

    My only gripe is with Nobara’s death. I never got the chance to resonate with her character outside of that last fight in season one with Itadori. I could argue the same with Nanami - yes their deaths were out of no where and depressed me but there was never a moment I imagined the future of the plot with them heavily involved. Meanwhile Death Note made me cry over an FBI agent’s wife’s death in the span of an episode or two.

    Hidden Inventory was essential in establishing the relationship Geto had with not just Gojo and Shoko, but all of Jujutsu High and Jujutsu society. The curse users working with Kenjaku (Pseudo Geto) choose to work with him and the rest of the curse users because they still uphold his ideals and want to rid the world of curses entirely. It was also paramount in showing Gojos awakening and the effect it had on the rest of the jujutsu world, especially Geto, which pushed him further down the path he took

    Man, you have to have noticed or someone must have already told you, that the Shibuya incident occured in just a night, roughly 6 hours. 6 hours of stuff going wrong, and I doubt you would have any awareness of everyone not within your line of sight. Same would probably go for them, especially since Haruta decided to be a dick and killed/incapacitated all their supporters which could have been their comms network.

    Honestly i think its a realistic take because not everyone dies with a moment in real life, when your at war some people just go without a super moment and this season was to show that being a sorcerer is a cruel and unforgiving life and if thats not for you thats fine but saying the story telling isn't good and doesn't make sense is absurd.

      I hear what you’re saying. To re explain my issue with Nobara specifically. When she gets killed the episode then spends the rest of it’s runtime on this half written flashback on her. To me personally it felt like the writers wanted to have the shocking depth and also force you to cry. In the video I say I don’t mind my favorite character dying. My issue is what does it really serve in the story other than to torture Yuji some more. Which if that works for his character in future seasons then hey maybe I’ll change my mind. The Shibuya Incident arc is my favorite arc in all of anime, but I see some of your points and respect your opinion (though I disagree with most of them). I feel you want the story to be a bit more predictable to hit you harder, but its a war. What I love is the desperation and the way the fights are unpredictable. It isn't supposed to be your usual arc, its called the Shibuya "Incident" for a reason. It's not supposed to give all characters equal screen time or equal development, it's supposed to show a desperate war. All the emotional parts hit me since it really could have been avoided if things went a little better.
    You don't feel the plot armor, you don't feel that your side is the "good side". Like Mahito mentioned, "It's a war, It's a clash of what we believe is right, of our own flimsy ideas of justice." The arc is centered around reality, and thats what makes me love it.
    ok I'll start showing my disagreement with your points now:
    -I somewhat agree with what you said for Toji's return being moderately pointless, but I love how the story went with it, Toji even had a back story to explain why he killed himself. Why does Megumi need to know? Toji didn't want that. I feel like Toji's return could be removed from the story and it could have been slightly better, but the way his story fixes so many patches in the story makes me unable to create a point where he didn't exist, which made Toji's return just all the more important. He doesn't need any "father-son time" in a war.
    -The disaster curses meeting in the afterlife hit me because of their beliefs to be the "true humans". It hits me because in a war like this, you shouldn't just be rooting for "the good guys". I somewhat root for both sides on many points, especially when they make Gojo the "villain of the good side". Needing to have an entire process to seal him to make the sides equal. We care for them since they aren't lifeless, and they aren't assholes for the sake of being assholes. They have a goal to exterminate humans and live with their role. It's a genuine goal to be seeking for and not just evil for the sake of being evil.
    -and everything else about you calling Haruta an "F tier blonde henchman" which I find funny but is wrong, he's a soldier in the war like the others, he's a villain and we root against him since he doesn't really have a good reason or a good goal. He's evil for the sake of being evil. Just because he got dogged on by someone stronger doesn't mean you should see him as anything less. It's a war, you need to expect bad matchups, Haruta was simply unlucky.
    -Mahoraga or Makora in the anime, is hinted at, very many times. It's to the point where 3 finger Sukuna had to stop rampaging Megumi to acknowledge Mahoraga's threat level. He even stated him his fight that he would have been defeated back then. It isn't a random ability, did you expect him to use mahoraga everytime? you want him to summon him in a school event? (I mean he was willing to do it but what ever). This ability is a sacrifice and needs to be treated like such. He used it against "The F tier blonde henchman" because he didn't have any energy left. His thought process was, if I'm going down, I could atleast take you down with me".
    -your point about the citizens is probably the only one I completely agree with, the rapid death of the citizens left watchers lowering the value of the people killed. I feel sorcerers helping them out would give them so much more value, the part about Maki being wasted this arc moderately applies too.
    -Nanami just got burned half to death and probably saw Maki and Naobito burned to death. His coms are dead since they got killed by Haruta earlier. His first instinct is to kill some curses to prevent casualty. That feels very natural and I don't get your point here. He had a full episode so I don't get what you mean by "very fast".
    -Nobara had really good scenes in the anime, I have no idea what you are talking about, she dealt her damage with resonance. Just because she is your favorite character and she dies, doesn't mean her development is deleted. It shows the brutal reality and shows how Mahito's plan worked, to break Yuji.

      Great perspective on the season and it's themes. It's saddening that recently there has been quite a lot of people who seemingly "disconnected" from JJK. That "I don't feel it" once someone died is odd to me especially since it looks like people need an explicit reason to be sympathetic.

    Yeah the Toji thing sucked. It felt unnecessary aside from just needing someone strong enough to beat Dagon, granted Gege could've just written that any other way. Plus the scene where Toji dies has practically no impact. Megumi doesn't find out anything, Toji doesn't save his friends, AND Megumi gets jumped right after. Imo it should've been Toji vs Jogo (somewhat close fight) or Toji vs Mahoraga (Mahoraga dominates, but it might've been emotional seeing Toji try to save Megumi until his body breaks).

    • @vermagupta5432

      lets be real Toji is a deadbeat dad. He knew that he had never been there for megumi, so saying "oh, it's me, your dad!" would have just been selfish and would only hurt Megumi, so he took himself out without saying anything.

      @RKM_DarKo Před 7 měsíci +2

      Megumi wasn't supposed to find anything out. That wasn't the point. Idk if you're an anime only watcher so I won't spoil anything. All I'll say is Toji's reincarnation was absolutely necessary. Two huge plot points were established that both become very relevant later and might still have more implications. If you've read the manga and you still don't know what I'm talking about then idk what to tell you. I would be curious if you're actually paying attention.

    • @DefinitelyNotFort
      @DefinitelyNotFort Před 7 měsíci +2

      Megumi was never supposed to learn anything. It was supposed to end Toji’s character.

    • @RKM_DarKo
      @RKM_DarKo Před 7 měsíci

      @@DefinitelyNotFort That was only a part of it. It was also Gege's way of letting us know that despite his lack of confidence and self-doubt, Megumi is one of the strongest sorcerers alive, or at least he has the potential to be. The technique used to bring Toji back compelled him to target the strongest beings he came into contact with. It's implied that Megumi opening his domain was what drew Toji to the Dagon fight, not Dagon himself. Once inside the Domain, the reason Toji made a beeline for Dagon was because of the innate increase in power the domain grants the user. Only under those circumstances was Dagon a bigger threat than Megumi. All of this is meant to emphasize Megumi's potential to the reader or watcher. Do you remember when Jogo told Sukuna that he wouldn't even bother using domain expansion because he knew he couldn't win in a clash of domains? That was another small hint at how incredible it is that not only did Megumi enter Dagon's perfect domain with his own, but he did it with an unfinished domain and was able to sustain it for far longer than he should have been able to, considering its unfinished state. You could argue that this could have been accomplished through other means, but as you said, this also provided a full-circle moment for Toji's character.
      Another important plot point established by bringing Toji back was to show both the reader and Maki herself what her true potential really was. Think of it as a proof of concept. From both a strength and thematic standpoint, Toji embodies everything she wants to become. Maki desires the strength to prove the Zenin clan wrong and to spite them for how she and her sister were treated. The ambition was always there, but she had been unsure if it was possible, and even if it was, whether she could achieve it. Now she knows it's possible. Toji was the proof she needed. Witnessing what Toji was capable showed her that what she has always wanted can be done and ultimately gave her a concrete goal to strive for. This was so important for her character and it really couldn't have been done without Toji.
      Toji is one of the strongest members of the Zenin clan who has ever lived. Not only that, but he was also an outsider and a victim of their persecution. Therefore, bringing him back to foreshadow the strength and potential of two young members of the same clan, who are also outsiders and victims of their persecution, makes complete sense. That's just great writing. It's honestly amazing how well it was done. What's even more impressive is that Gege has applied this level of detail and creativity to the entire story. There are no wasted panels or dialogue, and nothing feels contrived or arbitrary. Everything has its payoffs.

    • @Unofficial_YT
      @Unofficial_YT Před 7 měsíci

      @@RKM_DarKo I'm a fully caught-up manga reader though I limited my comment to not spoil the manga.
      I don't think Toji's reincarnation was necessary or at least it could've been different. Yes, it shows what a fully realized Maki could look like, which happens just 2 arcs after Shibuya. The Maki-Toji comparison is important. However, the writing around Toji in Shibuya is questionable. All of a sudden, a random curse user we had never seen before shows up with powers that just so happen to effectively revive Toji, something that had not been teased or hinted at and did not have other plot points feeding into it. It's not like with Prison Realm where it had been mentioned before, we knew there was something suspicious about "Geto" after JJK 0, and all of Gojo's past is what makes it possible. It just seems like the author decided "I need a way to bring back Toji, what can I add?"
      He has a role in taking down Dagon, though again that could've just been structured differently. What makes his scene with Megumi bad is it leads to an unsatisfying conclusion to his character. We see he cares a little bit about Megumi and he's proud after a life of not caring, which could've been a warm conclusion to his character. But he responds by? Oofing himself? In a setting where Megumi's friends just got ambushed by Jogo, there's several threatening special grades and others that could jump Megumi, and Sukuna just got unleashed. We know from Sakurajima that HR users can perceive even more about curses and how they'll move compared to normal sorcerers, so surely Toji realized this. It's just so unsatisfying how right after one of the strongest characters oofs himself out of caring for Megumi, he gets jumped and is forced to use Mahoraga, and if not for Sukuna he would've died. We know Toji wasn't really in control since he's described as a "puppet of carnage" targeting the strongest one around however he clearly came to his senses here.
