  • Taking a look at the differences between the Perry Miniatures and Warlord Games models for the British 8th Army. I look at them from the wargamers perspective, as I play Bolt Action, but there's also cases for these to be used in dioramas.

Good video comparison as I have both sets. I think I would teeter towards the Warlord set due to multiple head options. I know on the Perry site you can buy addition metal heads...but that adds to the price of being cheaper than Warlord. Again, good video comparison.

I recently dug through their website and somehow missed all the heads! I shall have to look!

Bloody great work! Seeing them side by side like this makes me excited to grab an extra box or two of the Perry Bros to mix into my Brits once I get to the desert. And, where did you get the mini holder you paint with?

Thanks :D The Perrys are really nice models, just remember to stack the pudding base on the disk to add the height.
The model holder is my own design, I've been meaning to organise myself to clean up the files to sell for some time, I should get on that...

The Perry brothers have been iconic in the wargaming scene for several decades, there are a few interviews on YT if you search for them you'll find more info.
Perry Soviets would also be pretty good, with the variety of uniforms and equipment.

@@EDSKaR I will. Perry Sovjets would be cool. But the Warlord ones will do.

Your not alone in liking mixing figures though I like Warlord for the heavier weapons ie light mortars and AT rifles

Funnily enough I used the Perry light mortar and Warlord AT rifle XD.

The price different between the two is to account for all the illegal Russian protein powder the Warlord games models have been consuming

I prefer warlords kits in ww2 by far perrys are too monopose you can get a ton of pose variety in the warlord boxs
Perry miniatures make amazing un paralleled models for the medival age 100 years war and war of the roses specially but the ww2 options fall very short in my opinion

I'm looking at mine now, and Just looking over the sprues, the Perry have twice as many body sculpts(12+2 vrs only 6) and a few more arm sculpts than the Warlord does. Maybe they're 'more similar' to eachother than the Warlords, possibly because they are truescale? The features and poses of the Perrys are less exaggerated than the Worlord.
I have not looked at much of Perrys medieval stuff (yet) but I have a few sculpts from their GW days, so their quality has been fairly consistent :D.

@@EDSKaR im more worried about the arms pose wise you can have 12 of the same body look like differnt poses with the right diversity of arm poses also separate heads are incredibly important in a squad
For example in a group of 30 you can have 2 minis made of the exact same parts look like differnt guys just by making them hold their guns at different hights and looking in different ways
