Maybe it could expand the variety of cheats into new territories... like in games other than cards? Different card games that utilize a mix of old and new strategies? Possibly giving the player more freedom in how and when they cheat, and maybe another use for the currency beyond bets in future games? It is hard to imagine, but I wish for a sequel nonetheless.

Just finished the game, I did really enjoy it (bar some of the really complicated cons) but I feel the cheat for yourself ending should be different, since it's kinda samey to cheating for the Comte. Hear me out:
    - you cheat for yourself, get 4 aces
    - the king gives you a choice of who to send to prison, you can choose Ernasde, the Comte, or both.
    - since the king says in one ending he can't do anything for you, you go back to Pau and buy the tavern
    - some time later, (depending on who you send to jail) Ernasde/Comte kills you ( you can argue that this would only work for sending both, since only Ernasde can escape, and Comte usually dies in prison, and the other would leave you alone but let's just say cheats don't like to be cheated)
-you write your diary from the underworld. You don't know the date.
-like the tavern you pour wine for death and play a game. No matter what you do death automatically wins and says something like "nice try, but you can lie and send people to death, or swindle and live like a king, but you can't cheat Death."
Roll credits. I can understand that it doesn't give the player agency and has to let someone else win, but I like the idea that Eugene, after all that he's done doesn't want to cheat for himself, especially if you're honest with the king and say you're not his son. Those are my thoughts anyway.

@@itsacharcoalice The thing is, in one of the endings he saw that you were choosing to cheat for yourself, and as a result, forced the 5th Ace. Implying he somehow made it happen *after* you started dealing the cards. No idea how.

Erdnace's sleeves. If you were stupid enough to go against someone better than you in EVERY conceivable way, you deserve to get a slap!

Erdnace is the best cheater of them all. You're merely causing the intended ending, if everyone played fair.
