The original '85 LP version of this track, along with Sting's "Russians" (#16), Annie & Dave's "Sexcrime" (#81), Nena's "99 Luftballons" (#2), Frankie's "Two Tribes" (#43), and Peter Schilling's "Major Tom (Coming Home)" (#14), all make for a great nostalgic '80s Cold War playlist. (BTW, I'm from America (don't hold that against me), and "The Sun Always Shines On T.V." only reached #20; I've always thought it was far superior to "Take On Me", which topped the Billboard chart. Where else but in America could earworm drivel by Tone-Loc and Paula Abdul both top the chart in '89 while Yazz & the PP's "The Only Way Is Up" stalled at #96? And I'm still bitter after 30 years that Erasure's "Blue Savannah" and Pet Shop Boys' "Being Boring" both failed to enter the Hot 100 all together. (Wow-my mind was all over the place in those two paragraphs above.) I know-First World problems, but still...
