If you want to keep your cats off the counter then one thing I've done in the past is take little strips of scotch tape and put them sticky side up on your counter. I did this for just 2 days and the cats stayed off the counter. And we all got a good laugh out of it too! LOL.

Tried this to keep our two cats off the table so they don't wreck our board games. One is terrified and the other just walks on it and lays down.
Putting tin foil on a table or counter is fine but putting on the cat or around their food bowl is just mean...

As you can see some cats will not be deterred from the counter. After 65 years of cats I’ve finally met my match in Arya Underfoot and basically given up.
There are some that jump the moment they see the aluminium, then there are some that start eating it.
And then there’s one that jump on the counter where we have cooked salmon and the cats walk all over the foil and lick it! Lol our cats do that!
Cats REALLY don't like it when people make fun of them -- you might find a turd on your pillow when you put your head on it!

I think it works because when they jump and slide it make a noise similar to a snake hissing. They sense imidate danger.. kinda like the cucumber thing..

Cat jumps up on counter like a hundred times before. Lands on something never seen before. Situation unknown. Cat reflexes act per design. Does not save cat from tinfoil death, but how many previous/future deaths did/will said design manage to avoid in all cat history? Cat response vindicated. Humans still think it's funny as hell. I came here looking for this video. I just found my cat had took my whole roll of foil unrolled it and ripped in to pieces. He was chewing on the foil. Foil is now his new toy. I have one very odd cat.

I put some aluminum foil on my dresser last night then closed my door (cats can't be in my room at night when I'm sleeping because I'm on PD diyals) then this morning once I was done and my door was open I woke up to see my kitten (the reason for me putting foil on the dresser. Btw I put it there because it's the only spot I can put some precious things of mine, I have another cat who occasionally goes up there but she quite literally does not care about what I have on it.) Before I put the foil on my dresser cleo (naughty kitty) had torn down my teddy bed and made a mess. My dad had to bolt it to the wall but we're still worried abt the stuff on my dresser.
Anyways my point was this morning I woke up to see cleo sitting on my dresser ontop of the foil PLAYING WITH IT..... I have now taped it down and I'm going to put more. If that doesn't work I'm gonna put double sided tape, we don't own any but I literally will buy some
My wife put tinfoil on top of a DVR because we had a cat that kept sleeping on it, and he eats too fast, so there have been two occasions when he's destroyed a DVR barfing into it. Turns out DVR's only last a couple seconds after cats barf through the vent holes. Anyway, she put tinfoil on it, right over the vent holes, which is not great for the DVR. Cat continued sleeping on it, DVR continued working in spite of having no heat ventilation, and the next time he barfed on it the tinfoil saved the day, so.....I don't remember where I thought I was going with this, BUT I do want to very sincerely wish you the very best of luck with your PD Dialysis.

I used to own 3 cats 2 pure breed Persan blue point very precious gorgeous cat, very quiet. I had another cat orange one who love to play with balls of foil, he was like a dog bringing it back and forth. I just moved into a new appt and did not had time to install a huge mirror on the wall near the end of the corridor next to the dining room with a large 6 feet round glass top. the persan cats were both sleeping on the dining room chair under the table top. My cat and I are playing with his balls and at one point instead of stopping before the mirror he hit the mirror look at it realized it is going to fall trying run back toward me, but the mirror fall crashing itself in pieces now I have a scare cat and 2 sleeping cats who wake up jumping from under the table lifting the glass top which also crash on the floor in pieces, now I have 3 cats running around all over not knowing where or what to do, where to hide and whatnot. I replace the mirror on the wall and the glass table top, the persan cats never ever sleep anywhere in the dining room ever again, and my cat was fine with bringing his foil balls back but getting near the mirror he would slow down and wait to be sure it would not fall and brake again.

No matter what I try to do to keep my cat off my dresser or tv stand she just tries to go around it I need help
Spray bottle or put tape sticky side up
Set a mouse trap, _place it _*_upside down_* where you want the cat to stay off, cover the trap & the area with newspaper.
*_Upside down,_* the trap will spring up & snap when disturbed but won't harm the cat. The newspaper disguises the trap, protects the animal but also exacerbates / magnifies the trap's jump and noise. Eventually they associate newspaper with scary and you can just leave a sheet of newspaper without using the traps.
This works really good keeping them out of houseplants as well.
Try taping inflated balloons where you don't want the cat. The sound of them popping might scare them away.

Only the ones which have both eyes blue. White cats with two different eye colours can hear perfectly fine.

This is absolute stupidity. Aluminum is an extremely toxic mineral, causing severe reactions including death if ingested. So I strongly suggest that you keep aluminum foil away from your pets, especially when I see someone on the video actually letting their cat chew on it. Very stupid!!
