This Integrated Amplifier packs a wallop! I have the volume only on 32👈 I brought the volume up to 45 and it just about blew me out of the room! Even without a Sub the BASS adjustments make it go DEEP.. Try “Thanks to You” by Boz Scaggs and you’ll see how beautiful the BASS is.. Or anything by YELLO… The feature set alone is well worth the cost, Plus the Class D music thru it’s internal DAC is Pure Audio Nirvana too.. I’m keeping this SMSL AO300 in my lineup 4sure..
At 0:34, you said you would first play a song using the internal DAC of the AO300 amplifier, then you would play another song using the SU-1 DAC. Can you tell me where in this video you made the switch from AO300 DAC to SU-1 DAC? So that I can compare the quality of the AO300 DAC to a standalone DAC. I've ordered the AO300 but I'm considering whether I need to buy a standalone DAC as well or is the AO300 good enough.

It is 2 separate videos👍 Just type SMSL SU-1 in YT search or look thru my video for that name 👍 I prefer the SMSL SU-1 DAC over the DAC in the AO300 as you can read in my comments, but that depends what AMP I use the SMSL SU-1 with.. But neither is a slouche in the Audio realm.. You’ll be happy buying both for the little money it costs.. The SMSL SU-1 beats many $500 DACs with ease..So does the DAC in the AO300.. Best2You❤️

Still in between wiim amp, Yamaha a-s301 w/ wiim mini, or this and the wiim mini… hard choice I feel. Side note, is the internal DAC on par with the smsl su1? Or does would the su1 still be worth it to grab?
No… There’s more quality bass out of the SU-1, better clarity on vocals and more PRaT.. That’s when I switch to Tone & Fast… Otherwise I use Direct/Non Sampling.. The Amp imparts it’s own bass, so I keep it low if I’m also using a SUB.. If I use the SU-1 with other Amps it easily beats the DAC in the AO 300..And of course the speakers themselves play a huge part in the final audio, right? But my Chord Mojo tops both as it’s not off the shelf DAC chip.. FPGA is tough to beat.. Ask anyone who has a Chord.. And I keep the Mojo plugged in while using, so that makes a world of difference to the sound.. Better than USB power 4sure.. You’re most welcome.. Best2You🤗
I only use my 170 Watt per channel, 16 DAC Denon 5803 AVR for Home Theater duties ie Movies or playing my DVD/Blu-Ray Movie/Music Collection.. It’s a Beast..❤️
Also you may have not listened carefully at 0:35 Seconds, where I clearly state I’m not using the SMSL SU-1 DAC.. I first tested the Internal DAC on the AO300 with this video.. I hope you have read up on various DAC’s to gain some knowledge on how they are used in your system and what options come with some and what doesn’t.. Get yourself a SMSL AO300.. I think you’ll be quite happy as to what it offers for a very reasonable price.. Best2You..

The features you get for the price is very good. Yes sound could be better but from looking at an overall package, it’s very good.

That’s impossible… Please read up on the SU-1 DAC …. It doesn’t have a separate power supply, it’s powered by the USB input..
