Today, the Aioi district in Nishinariku, Japan is still called the slum area of Japan. Not only is the area littered with garbage, but there are also homeless people living on the streets for three meals a day.
It is also the worst area in Osaka in terms of security due to the concentration of transients. Illegal prescription drugs, stimulants, and even drugs are all traded here. It is also next to the largest red light district in Osaka.
Today I went deep into the Ai-neighborhood area of Osaka's Nishinariku to take a field shot of the illegal black market in Sugimin Street and show you if Osaka, which will soon host Expo 2025, is ready for it.
