I think this show nails characters and their interactions in general I've never had more fun just watching characters interact and talk. I don't even need them to do much more and I'm a guy that hates sitcoms
I love how despite the fact that they're actually both super smart (President aces all of his exams, and Ishigami is great with statistics), they both immediately become 50 IQ points stupider just by being around each other

I love when in an anime the mc has a best friend AND interacts with that best friend showing how close they are and not just a background character that they TELL you he is the best friend. not just focus on the mc and his love interest. Like i think it was in either toradora or nisekoi where he had a supposed bf and they never interect other that show up on trips and study sesions just to fill an extra male seat and do nothing with it.
There was even a bit in Kaguya-sama where Miyuki became a harem protagonist and Ishigami got erased since the lead is allowed to be the only male character.
Characteristic of good anime romance. The MC (and their couple too, for better option) have a good friend and not only interact with their couple or harem. I think this what makes the characters look more alive.

Well actually ishigami wanted to absolutely crush iino in the election so that they would make it seem more like they were just too good and not that losing was iino’s fault. Shirogane was the one who chose to let her speak which made it a close race
Fun fact, the manga they were reading when they cry and said they want to experience love, its sweet today wich has a "live adaptation" in oshi no ko xD
@@bidulus1 from what I've discerned from OnK and KLW, the FL apparently was traumatized by her parent's putting poison in her food, making her eat only canned food, then ML comes along and stuff happens, apparently there was a stalker on FL, and ML and stalker confronted each other at an abandoned warehouse, and at the end, ML dies after FL tasted ML's cooking... I think that's about it? (well, afaik)
Everyone always points out how president helped Ishigami, but no one seems to realize that Shirogane was also having an awful time at Shuchin before the student council and Ishigami seems to be his only actual friend (male)
Back then, I almost skipped this anime because I was disinterested at romance anime. However, I decided to give it a shot. Damn, that was a good decision!!! I love it!!!!

I understand that the last chapters of the story no longer encapsulate the essence of the story, that being a romcom where two brilliant students engage in intellectual warfare to make the other confess their feelings. However, the mangaka, Akasaka Aka, has clearly stated that once Miyuki and Kaguya start dating, the entire point of the anime has already been fulfilled (since they're already dating, no more battles of trying to make the other confess their feelings will happen), so the remaining chapters are just his way to wrap up the story to leave it at a high note while completing the other small bits and short stories revolving around the other characters (like Ishigami and Miko's relationship). So yeah, the reader should already be well aware that the last chapters were going to completely deviate from what the story is all about that made it so successful, and as a fellow fan, I'm completely okay with that.

Season in anime and i have heard a lot about the last part of the manga. If they haven't gone out of their way to criticize it, i would think it is the perfect conclusion to the series after hearing the conflict goes around Kaguya's family messing up things for them (that's all i know, i thankfully haven't been spoiled much) and Ishigami's heart being claimed after 3 months by Lino (as teased in the end of the last episode of season 3, i am not spoiled about this either but after that monologue of Lino that says "you can have it if it isn't claimed in 3 months... as if i want it 😒" it is just obvious, i also think the flower she cares so much about was given by Ishigami since his main plan for confessing to Tsube Sampai was also involving leaving flowers so it is him like %99 sure). I am perfectly fine and even excited for these two arcs and possibility of some other arc coming from nowhere (there is a lot of chapters unread for me after all, i think movie was 150ishth chapters) but people hating on them makes me slightly worried both for manga and anime adaptations that might happen
man i wish anime had more of these kinds of dude-dude friendships. i don't mean like in shounen where they battle alongside each other yadda yadda - i wish romantic seinen had more confidence to portray actual homies being homies instead of it just being one dude with a bunch of girls.
I’ve watched this anime so many times, and I love it more and more. The more I watch the more I see how each characters bonds are portrayed, Shirogane saved ishigami from the darkness that had started to consume him over time after the incident in middle school and Ishigami found a true friend that could beloved him and saw him as the righteous person that he was. The connections just become more deeper the more I rewatch and in my opinion these have to be some of the best written characters I’ve ever seen. The writers really fleshed them out well and the voice actors really did an amazing job. Ishigami’s flashback in his room in the English dub really got to me, by far on of my favorite characters together with Ai Hayasaka
