Nathan Case He never got a name. He was just known as Tsuru Sennin which just simply means Crane Hermit. This was to mirror Roshi himself who was known as Kame Sennin (Turtle Hermit) up until Krillin showed up and revealed his true name.
I love how TFS worked in a subplot of Yajirobe and Corrin being a couple into the movies after indicating it in the main episodes.

Of course, the thing never mentioned by the crazies is that metal doesn't retain structural load-bearing integrity if heated up to even half the temperature of its melting point.
It's doubly so when talking about a building that has a lattice-styled structural design (meaning no central support beams, only an outer shell of support struts [which is why the Twin Towers had those distinctive vertical lines on each side, those were the support beams, hit directly by the planes that struck the building]).
The US Navy found out the hard way that lattice-styled support cages for early 20th century battleship range-fingers may be lightweight but are very susceptible to collapse if even a single strut is damaged. It compromises the integrity of the entire structure and allows it to fall over or collapse if the equilibrium of the delicate distributed load bearing struts is shifted by the loss of even one.

Canonicaly we still do not know Roshi's real name. "Roshi" is part of his title. "Kame" could be his real name but that's only according to the anime filler.

@@lonewolf9578Kame does mean Turtle. Kame House = Turtle House. In the Manga he is called Kame-Sennin which means Turtle Hermit. It is only revealed later(or in the opening manga title for him) that he also goes by Muten Roshi, which just means Great Old Master. A Roshi is a leader of a Buddhist monk sect, and also can be translated as Venerable Old One.
So really we don't know his true name. He does in fact only go by titles.
