Madremanya is a medieval village from 1035 that stands out for its alleys and façades that make it a monumental complex. Its name comes from the Latin expression Mater Magna 'big mother'.

I spent a week in this village in the week leading up to Christmas many moons ago. We stayed in a lovely little boutique B&B, possibly El Raco but it was only small with a few bedrooms at the time. It was gorgeous. The Xmas lights were draped across the narrow streets and it felt so festive and cosy. I’d love to go back.
