My mother bought a seven year old 57 Roadmaster two door, not a 75. It also had the chrome roof rails and bows and factory air. Great cars.
Hi Daniel, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Mothers car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Beautiful Buick! Love that color..Wow! This is a rolling sculpture...Awesome. Back in the day Buick had a slogan...."when better cars are built, Buick will build them." Thanks for posting Lou. Be blessed always...
Hi Gerry, Hight praise for this "rolling sculpture" :-) Blessings received, and God bless you too. You're welcome, Lou
Yes!...as a Buick fan, I can tell you that a few years ago, a famous car magazine did a thorough evaluation of the most reliable GM cars made, over the previous 30 years...Buick was the top-rated!
My mother had a '58 Roadmaster, white, with light blue interior. This is the first '57 I've seen with A/C. It was a wonderful car.
Hi John, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Mothers car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
I believe only the 1956 and the 1957 roadmasters actually said the model year on the front bumper.
@@nonelost1 Yup, then owners complained, when the car was a year or two old, that they were advertising that it wasn't brand new, so Buick stopped that.
Absolutely incredible, it amazes me what America used to make. All those parts and chrome probably unique to this car. That paint job. What happened to us now? All white amd black and grey and silver. I wish I lived in that era.
Hi Paul M, High praise :-) Although we can't go back to this era, the cars from that era are featured on this CZcams Channel so we can enjoy them, Lou
@@loucostabileHi Lou, thanks for your videos. I love ‘em. One comment: While our new cars will never be built like these classics from the ‘50’s (for various valid reasons), I wish we could at least expand our color palette! Like the other guy posted, I’m real tired of black, white, gray, and silver! I had a ‘67 Fairlane when I was a teen. It was Clearwater Aqua, a beautiful car and color!
Keep posting the great videos, Lou!
Automotive art, I owned a 93 Roadmaster and it was a great automobile for interstate travel.
You are correct Lou a four door worth viewing 🐱
Hi Gary, Happy to read you enjoy this "Automotive art" :-) Glad to read you had a Roadmaster too, Lou
These cars were a common site on the road when I was a kid, they look a lot better now than when I was a kid.
1957 was such a great year for GM cars! If that is the original paint, this Buick is one of the best unrestored ones out there. One of the officers in our Buick Club of America Chapter has a 1957 Super in about this condition. She wins awards all the time! Hers lacks air conditioning but is still well equipped for a 1957. So nice to see something other than a Chevy or Ford!! Thanks Lou!
Hi Fred and Debra MacDonald, Thank you for viewing, sharing, and you're welcome, Lou
Absolutely stunning! Unique roofline pretty much makes it a stealth four door
That Buick is such a sweet looking car and has so many details that add to the character and charm of such a beautiful car. I'm glad you pointed out that C pillar on the back door, when I first saw the car from the side, that piece really stood out to me as being very unique!!! Great car Lou.
Hi Hobiemarty, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this "sweet" car :-) Glad to read the details you enjoy, Lou
Sweet Buick Roadmaster! Lots of chrome on this particular example. The engine sounds healthy, and the interior is in excellent condition! Like the color scheme too!
Hi Michael, Happy to read you enjoy this "Sweet Buick Roadmaster!" :-) Lou
Beautiful Buick - almost like jewelry! Great body design, quite the classic.
Fifty years in one family is quite impressive! Thanks for bringing this icon and great Car Story to us Lou.
Hi Jeff, Happy to share this Buick with ALL the jewelry with you :-) My pleasure sharing this story. You're welcome, Lou
Hi, Lou! I know how much you love those blue cars, so blue on blue must be twice as nice! (I think Bobby Vinton would agree!) If only you could have gotten a ride in it! I mean, with all that plushness and all that stretch-out room, you can really picture yourself just basking in all that Fifties-style luxury...like that fella he met at the gas station did upon taking his first breath!
Well, we wanted to see a nice four-door, and Lance's car hits it on the nailhead! What an awesome way to pay tribute to his father! Many thanks to both of you for sharing this "fintastic" master of the road with us!
Lance's Buick is awesome! I love the interior, and of course the blue on blue two tone paint. It has a classic rumble, too. Thanks, Lou!

Beautiful Buick ! Great colors ! Love the Kelsey Hayes wheels too ! Thanks Lou !
Hi Rudy, Happy to read you enjoy this "Beautiful Buick !" :-) You're welcome, Lou
the 1957-Buick Roadmaster by far was best looking car that Buick ever made
Love the reverse swept C pillar and wrap around rear windows of these full size GM cars of this era.
Lou, what a fantastic survivor. All that chrome and shades of aqua blue looks like the kitchen set we had when I was a little kid!
My dad was always a Buick man and owned several of them. The last one I remember was a 1969 model. I remember going to Wisconsin in it and it rode like a boat and was so smooth. This car brings back memories for me.
Hi Dale, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Dads cars :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou

Hi David, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) You're welcome, Lou
What a 4dr masterpiece _ The production details are simply amazing _ Even the chrome pieces encapsulating the rear fins with the lights have ribbing when Buick could have saved time and money making them smooth _ Just amazing - Thnx for featuring this Lou. . . :>/
Hi Dr. Candor, High praise :-) My pleasure sharing this car with you. You're welcome, Lou
Thanks Lou. Thanks Lance, beautiful car. I love the '55-'57 Buicks. Very special looking cars.
Hi discerningmind, Happy to share this car with you :-) You're welcome, Lou
What an excellent example of Mid-century automotive architecture! That was interesting about the same roofline for both the coupe & sedan. I will say that I never appreciated these until I was in my late 20’s, early 30’s. Today, I do have an immense appreciation for this generation of Buicks. Thanks Lou and Lance for a wonderful presentation!
Hi Rusty, Happy to read "What an excellent example of Mid-century automotive architecture!" :-) Appreciate the kind words on this presentation. You're welcome, Lou
I remember back in the 60s. I pulled up next to a roadmaster. I had a hot rod. Well the old dude taught me a lesson. That car was badass on the big end. 🤣
@@loucostabile I also remember a Buick my buddy had in highschool. It was a 65 Riviera. 425 / dual quad/ 4 speed.

My father had one of these 1957 Buicks in the 70's. I remember being small enough at the time to fit between the door and drive shaft floor hump in the back. He once transported a giant in the car. He attended a wrestling match and afterwards Andre the Giant, Superfly Snooka and their manager were at a pay phone trying to get a cab but couldnt. My father offered them a lift. Which they excepted. My father being a mechanic had recently replaced the suspension in the car. Even so with Andre in the car it leaned down on his side. lol.

Beautiful car bringing back memories of my youth. I was 17 and bought my first car from money I earned by myself. It was a 57 Buick 2 door, blue on bottom with white on top. I paid the total sum of $250.00 and it was almost mint condition. This was in 1963, cars were plentiful and cheap. Thanks Lou, for bringing back good memories of my youth. (Wish I still owned it)...

Lou is filming the rear lights and the car is running. I bet he can he smell the exhaust, unlike we do these days with new cars. I don't remember the exhaust being as strong of smell in their day, as it is on these older cars now, when we're around these older pre smog device vehicles. Just goes to show how our sense of smell adapts. A beauty regardless. My mother drove a 58 Buick Caballero station wagon.
Hi Robert, Yes, you not only can smell them when you're behind them, you come home smelling like them. And you're right, they smell :-) Lou

This is gorgeous. The chrome, the color! That 300hp 364 V-8 and factory A/C made this a
great car on the highway driving to car shows.
My car friend and I affectionately call these "Buick Roadmonsters" because of the size and toothy grille ! LOL... gorgeous specimen! Congrats...

My father always spoke about how beautiful the 50's Roadmasters were. I now understand why. I looked at buying one of the "new" Roadmasters when they were reintroduced, just didnt do it for me. I would love to have this 57, it has aged wonderfully. Thanks Lou, enjoyed it.

I had one in Mariner blue…a RM75-only color. I saved it from near-death in a field and got it driving and passed it on to the next owner with a parts haul I collected. I had it for 15 years, tucked away in my Mom’s dry garage. The interior is a Buck Rogers space ship, just filled with chrome and stainless. The leather and vinyl inside had a pearl effect that works well with the chrome. I was very lucky to find a nice original interior in the same light blue from a Chicago area Buick Club man. It got my car over the hump. The mechanicals were easy to get right. If the cosmetics are good enough, these are wonderful driving cars. The 57’s are so different from the 56 GM cars. I recall my grandmother’s 56 Fleetwood 60S. It was much larger and higher than these cars. The 57 seems lower and sporty in comparison. These are really Cadillacs more than they are Buicks. I think they are the best of both worlds. The Buick interior is way better than the Cadillac interior, even has chromed headliner trim vs the aluminum of the Cadillac.
Hi John, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
After a very bad auto accident, my grandfather located a 2-year old 1957 Buick Super. Seeing the car for the first time, and not knowing its ownership, this recent model Buick Super was an attention grabber--Green top, white door inset, and a red-inset body side molding. The seating was sumptuous--AND a padded dashboard. When grandmother returned to driving she loved the car, especially the power steering, but was not amused by the speed buzzer, set by gramps to go off at 70 (which she also found how to override). Of cars built in the 1950s, overall longevity was part of planned obsolescence. By 1963 the very regular waxings could no longer hide the primer paint. Then it started leaking cold in the winter, hot in the summer, compounded by A/C failure which would have cost more to repair than the car was worth. The replacement, a '66 Roadmaster, was warm and cool when it needed to be but didn't have the style or class. But the use of seat belts, starting with the '57, shoulder straps and other safety features on new cars were welcomed. While my grandfather owned several more Buicks, the '57 was by far the sharpest car he ever owned.

@@loucostabile Will do. Gramps taught me parallel parking in the '57 when I was 10--front car a '36 Pontiac--back a '37 Dodge pickup---still sitting by the barn, rusting away--somebody looked at it but too far gone to restore--he sold the Pontiac for $80 in 1965--way before anybody was tuned in to restore.
What beautiful original Buick. I love the wire wheels and the 2 tone blue and how the back passenger doors have that slanted angle on the back of it that you pointed out Lou. I love that he left the trunk the way it was instead of putting new upholstery. Great video Lou!
Damn, you're a lucky cat, Lou, knowing all these people with these gorgeous classic cars! Thanks for bringing them to us.

Lou Consabile, I am surprised you showed a 4-door model of the famous Buick Roadmaster. What can I say but thank you! 🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
Lou this is a year old MCS so you probably wont see my comment. I'm a two door guy but this 4 door is beautiful. It is probably because this year the two doors and four doors had the same roof line.
Lou you can be the least inquisitive . This car is a survivor in amazing shape. His dad put it in storage years ago. You don't ask why or what type of storage facility he had that kept it in such good shape. Did his dad have a car collection? What other cars if any did his Dad have in this building? When a car has been sitting for years let alone decades there are things that just deteriorate. What did he have to do to get it running properly?
finally the owner mentioned the cubic inch of the engine but not the HP or torque. ?????????
I still love your channel. You find the coolest cars. Every time I enter MCS it's like I'm going on a Magic Mountain ride for the first time. I'm in anguish.
The 50's...two tone, chrome and wide whitewalls.....nice car Lou.

I had to play it back to make sure I heard right; how many heard Mr. Lou slide that “fintastic” in there when describing the back of the car? This Buick reminds me of what Jay Leno’s Daddy said about the Buick he had. It was something like: “No padded dash on this thing, you hit your head on it in an wreck they just hose it off and sell it to the next guy”!
Hi, I am the owner of this car; thanks for all of the nice comments! I am finishing a full restoration on a coupe version of this car that will be shown for the first time probably at the 2022 Buick Club of America national meet in Lisle, IL the last weekend in June if anyone can make it. It is a very special car, with a very rare color and several very rare accessories.
Hi Lance B, FUN sharing your car. Please call as you complete that restoration and I'll stop by and will video. Thanks! Lou
Sometimes I wonder if I didn't live a past life in the 1950's. I have always felt a strong connection to this vintage of a Buick. I can't explain it but I think this is more beautiful than the Chevrolet of the same year. Stunning car, Lou!
Hi ultraviolet tp, Happy to read you enjoy this "Stunning car" :-) Regardless of how old you are, you're on the right CZcams Channel, Lou
This is a far superior car to a Chevy. The Chevrolet is a cheap car, a car for the masses. The Buick is an upper medium priced car, the Roadmaster being almost a Cadillac.

The Roadmaster 75 was a Spring introduction in an effort to boost lagging sales. It was offered in a 2- and 4-door HT model, with very few made, especially the 2-door. In 1958 all Roadmasters were 75s, but for 57 it was a special model as an adjunct to the regular Roadmaster line up. When I was a teenager in 1967 I used to go to a local car hop for lunch. One day a guy rolled in with a rather worn 57 Roadmaster 75, the only one I think I've ever seen on the road and that was over 50 years ago. I also saw a 58 Limited at the same place sometime that summer, also tired, but still on the road. A big junkyard I used to go to back around that time also had a 57 Roadmaster 75 among the Buicks. I don't recall ever seeing any others ever, even at shows. This is an outstanding original. Did the owner say if it was original paint? It looks it. The door jams are split properly; another mistake you often see in restored Buicks of this vintage. Door jams are split, door ends are top color all the way down. A lot of guys don't do that right when repainting these cars. If I were judging, I'd take points off for that. I've seen 57 factory photos with the wire wheels. I think it was the last year they were offered. They were an expensive option: $400 in 1954. I don't know about other years. If you bought the option you got 5 wire wheels.

Staggering !! Same year as me so all in :)
I've often said that cars from this era were rolling works of art.
This takes the cake.
Sure, a two tone finish would be out of style on a high end car today but this must have been like buying a $60,000 fully loaded
Explorer back in the day, Needless to, the Buick would be prettier :)
To see one in original condition like this is amazing !
