  • After dry fitting these fenders multiple times over the last two years. I’m finally in a position to permanently install them. I’m one step closer to starting the bodywork. These are Custom Image Corvette fenders. Their Facebook page provides really good quality photos on of an install. Proceed with caution.

Had the same problem. A Harbor Freight boat winch and a couple Tapcons made my life a lot easier. EXCELLENT work as always!!

I have a 69 with CIC flares. With the front Van Steel arms the caster had the front 315 on 11" wheels tires hitting too. I had to cut and remold the rear of the front wells about 1..5 " longer in the rear. My wheel offset also dictated that I cut the entire lip off of both fronts and added 3/8 " of glass, of course this meant re contouring the entire front flares on both sides. Alot of work, but Im happy with the flares .

Yes this is the road I’ve chosen to go down. It will be the way I want it when it’s done though.

You're a beast man! Great job. My flares are going on 3/6/24 but I'm having J&D Corvette do em (CIC 3" and 4" flares). I was intimidated by that whole process but yours look great. Bummer about the front wheels hitting the back. Glad I saw this beforehand so I can warn them about it.

Thanks! Yeah, the main reason they hit is because of the offset of my wheels. I wanted my wheels to sit further out and not be buried in the wheel well. It’s definitely something the need to look out for. I will say, Josh at cic designed these to fit without modifying. Shoot me pics of yours if you have any. Toddpcf@outlook.com.

Not that I’m a pro. When I did my 69 I had fiver glass pre molds . They didn’t require as much cutting out as you did, they have better clearance .
All I had to do was use glass patches over lap and repeat with resin . Lots of resin in between and over lapping in a staggered way, then let it all set up. Set up between layers. Kinda like doing paper machete. Once it’s all set, sanding or lack of a better word like grinding with an angle grinder with a sanding attachment to really get down the really high points. The doing the rest buy hand. Take it really slow. You will get the perfect result.

I'll be building my flares from scratch since the rear axle is moved back 3" and I plan to set the chassis on the ground! when I build those flares. I have to make sure I have plenty of clearance at full bump. Maybe I should put my old videos back up (There was another CZcamsr copying my work so I took those videos down, and his mustang project hit a brick wall without them LOL)
