Julia, Thanks for this podcast. I have issues with some of the information Brighton and Mila discussed. You can't just blanket cancel flight reservations without cost if you are using many non-US carriers. It seemed that they led the listeners into believing canceling flights is FREE. (42:50, 44:05) Also, simply piecing trips together by making reservations at different times is not always a good idea. (43:45) I separately booked SFO to Paris and Paris to Marseille, booking the trip in pieces. If I had booked at the same time, the second leg would have been free. It seemed like this important information was left out. Thanks.
that's a good point. Flight cancellations can oftentimes have fees that vary based on airline. Itineraries that let you book everything in one go while saving points is definitely ideal, but I find that I'm piecing together stuff based on award availability on the regular.
Within the Avios program, you can move points between British Airways, Aerlingus, Qatar, Finnair, and Iberia. Here's a tutorial video with more info: czcams.com/video/Wv9iqDmcos0/video.html

I know you can move points from British Airway to Qatar...what else could be moved around to each other?
