Quest 2 Is Still the Better Standalone Beat Saber Headset VS Quest 3 || Expert+ Comparison

- After 2 months the best-selling VR game of all time owned by Meta isn't as good on Quest 3. Meta Quest 3 is a better headset in so many categories and tracking is not one of them. This is just a recap of my older videos as I see many people relate in the comment sections.
Beat Saber on Quest 3 looks and runs better at 120hz but when the most important input is my tracking they make all those features useless in the game.

They should just let us use quest 2 controllers on the 3
I have the quest pro controllers. The quest 3 is the better headset and even the regular controllers are better than the quest 2s. Idk what issues you had but this videos title is just wrong.
Idk if it’s just me but specifically the right controller doesn’t register hits sometimes, no idea why. Also loses tracking sometimes
Completely agree with this - the lack of a ring really hurts tracking, but I also think its likely more to do with the motion sensing tracking enhancements that can't quite keep up with very fast movements, and probably just estimates the positioning.
It doesn't help that like you, I much prefer a claw grip which is impossible to do on the Q3 controllers due to the placement of the LED's. Best I've come up with is to use a strap cover, and hold the controller at a slight angle, so my thumb is under the edge of the controller, just above the grip button, and my index finger it resting on the other edge, just above the stick, my middle finger on the trigger button and my ring finger also touching the grip button.
This almost feels like a claw-ish grip, and give much better wrist control. You would use something like Saber Tailor or Easy Offset to modify the control in-game, to compensate for the strange positioning. I can get roughly the same scores as before like this.
Well you can use Quest 2 controllers I'm pretty sure. You just have to pair them
@@jerkface38 no, they're incompatible. Which I really think is unnecessary. Sony do the same thing with their controllers too. It's just another money grab. There's no good reason to not include the old controller code in the Q3.
@@jerkface38I tried pairing my Q1 controllers but wasn't able to.
@@zKaltern now that sucks. I heard you can link the quest Pro Controller so I just assumed you can do it with the quest 2 controllers
Ok, I don't play expert+, but tried a few songs. I notice I'm missing sometimes some cubes more often as with the Quest2, but that was mainly because the Quest3 controllers are slightly different, so you need to adapt. But I so much enjoy the clear and sharp picture in the Quest3 especially with the picture optimizer. And I can only say that my scores went up with the Quest3.
It runs way better on quest 3 I’d take that over ever so slightly better tracking
Les Mills Body combat is suffering too, fast up and down movements is often too much for Q3
Yeah, I play that game as well, and punching up compared to Q2 would randomly lose tracking at eye level. No claw grip and controllers in full full. Yet they disappear and yeet themselves.
Had a lot of tracking issues at first but I realized it's cuz the quest 3 is sensitive to battery levels and lighting, more so than quest 2. Haven't had any issues playing ranked or challenge ever since, if I notice I'm losing tracking I just swap the batteries and turn on the lights. I use rechargeable batteries and try to keep it above 40%
I went from version 1 of reverb G2 to quest 3, the tracking is such a crazy upgrade lol. There were almost no expert + songs I could complete with the G2, now I can complete expert + songs and it feels amazing. I'm still aware of tracking issues when I'm playing, but I don't know if its worth forking out the $$ for the pro controllers. I'm still so happy with the upgrade coming from the G2 lol.
BeatSaber looks super sharp and runs as smooth as butter on Q3. The contollers track incredibly well too. I love Q2 but Q3 is superb!
Yeah the footage really makes it night and day
I'm unfortunately in that 1% too.
It may be anybody that's in the clogged rip category that plays on anything above expert
One thing I like about the quest 3 for beat saber is not worrying about smacking the rings together, that's a personal problem at least that bothered me a lot about the rings!
Idk but when I play my pcvr beat saber vs my quest 3 beatsaber stand-alone, it feels as though my quest 3 sabers have actual weight lol. Maybe it’s because of my fov, but it feels unbearable going back when I can’t use my pc
I had problems with tracking on custom levels on Q2 with enabled hand-tracking. So maybe disabling it can make tracking on Q2 even better.
Overall I think maybe they will fix it in v61 update (or v62, ... or 69 and so on).
They could certainly fix it, but I evaluate what we got rn
In my experience, the Quest 3 controllers have no downgrade but might be even better than the Quest 2 tracks. This is from someone who does the hardest songs and has custom songs on PC VR.
I beat saber blade x+ on quest 3 WITH controller grips that "supposedly" cover up the ir sensors. The tracking is fine you just need to get used to the different grips and whatnot.
I'm top 250 global on beat Saber and I recently swapped to quest 3 and have a few videos of me using it on my channel, the tracking is definitely not 100% flawless but it's absolutely fine for competitive play if you use default grip and adjust the controller settings.
Do you play pc?
@@sixtacos yes I play on PC VR, i use BSmanager
You could get quest pro controllers although they are way overpriced
When considering what’s inside of them and what a spare Q3 controller costs compared to what’s inside them?! Nah the pro controller is the fairer price. The bundle of headset is sold at a loss that’s all that makes them look like terrible price
Pro controllers + Quest 3 headset would probably be good for you (if you had infinite money)
For Sure. Infinite Money Glitch tutorial?
Quest 3 can't handle saber blade it just freaks out at the beginning
Not sure if my scores still up there but I had #8 on standalone leaderboards with quest 3 like a week after release, it can handle the map perfectly. I've been playing challenge as well which gets much harder than POTSB. Every time I've had issues they go away after swapping batteries and turning on lights, get a set of rechargeable batteries and you'll be fine
Quest 3 has terrible controllers. In death unchained is almost unplayable on Quest 3! Accuracy is much lower, moreover the bow sticks in the air randomly.
Sorry but I feel that any true try hard on beat saber will use lighthouse tracking. Never standalone.
What of quest 3 plus pro controller
Lol no way is Quest 2 is better for stand-alone. Noodlemaps run way better on Quest 3
i do better on quest 3 may just be me tho
