The last run looked ferocious. Carried the front end and slammin' gear changes rocked the car. The Berg's black '67 was an absolute beast back in the 80's and early 90's. Gear changes were so violent they shook the car, just awesome. Gene said when heating the slicks in the water box it was in 2nd gear turning 9,500~10,500rpm.
Thanks for posting the video guys. BTW, I bought some parts from CIP years ago. As well, my friend and I went to a show n swap meet put on by CIP in '86. After the show we went to Expo '86, the World's Fair, then back to the Seattle area where we still reside now.
What ever happened to Lanny Hussey/ Split {window?} Restorations? His '67 was choice, featured twice in Hot VW's magazine. He had an ad in the back of the magazine for sale asking $40k. I preferred the first rendition, Lotus white. Just reminiscing....thanks again.
