THE OOZE - Making A Color Changing Soft Plastic Bait
Vložit

- Here it is! The video you all have asked for! A color match to The Ooze by Hendrix Fishing Co. This bait is an amazing hyper shift changeable color that goes from a brown to green chartreuse switching over to a beautiful pink and purple glow as the light passes through the bait. This color took a long time to perfect and learn with lots of failed attempts along the way, but persistence has paid off with a beautiful color that I can share with the community.

Thank you for sharing yoyr experience while developing this color that came out phenomenal!
Awesome to hear! I wasn't sure if people were going to be bored with the story of the journey or not.
1 thing that I have realized is that you will never be able to please everyone. I just started making my own jigs a year ago and to this day I am amazed at the endless possibilities. Especially when you start understanding how the pigments work.
Awesome tweak of the LW chameleon. Straight chameleon in the ectocraw is absolutely madness. I'll try your recipe.
Definitely give it a shot it’s an awesome recipe!
Just wanted to say thank you!!! Just came across your video, I am now a subscriber. Great color.
Awesome stuff!! Thank You for the subscription!!! I hope you enjoy the channel!!
4" ECTO CRAW. Thanks for sharing! Have some 7.5" worms from the early 80s that look the same less the glitter..
That's an awesome mold!!!! The Ecto Craw should show this color extremely well!! Do you remember the color of the worms that were this color from back in the day?
@@baitchuckin It was called chameleon but had no green. Just brown and purple.
That sounds like the base color used for this color, it's also called Chameleon.
wow thanks for the video I'm thinking about this and this color is killer
Awesome! You're welcome! You should definitely start making your own soft plastics if you aren't already!
Great Video Broskie! That Color is absolute Magic! I think I’ll shoot that in the Angling AI Ecto Craw first
Ohh yeah the Ecto Craw should look real good in this color!!!
I thought I smelled Chameleon! The green char addition though… very nice. I need to consider “combinations” like this more… my combos are usually “laminate pairings” of primarily single colors each, but man… you really can do a lot by adding pigments to pigments! Not without its risks, but the reward is pretty awesome when it works! Good stuff man!
Well if it wasn’t for your video I wouldn’t have unlocked the color!!! Chameleon is such a great color on its own too. I highly encourage you to start mixing pigments together! Lots of great combos and colors you can’t get otherwise! 🤙🏼
@@baitchuckin 💯
That color is awesome! Nice work figuring that out and thanks for sharing!
Awesome!! Thanks for watching!! You gotta try this in the shop!!
Hey Thanks for Sharing This! Also thank you for the help on IG. 👍🏻
No problem!! I hope it helps out with using the chameleon color 🤙🏼
Nice video again! Thanks for all the work you put into figuring this color out! As someone who makes baits in my very limited free time, it’s nice to have guys like you, and the others on YT, that put in the time to figure things out and are willing to share. THANK YOU! I’ll be shooting this color in the A.I. 4” jigging minnow first.
You're very welcome!! I appreciate the positive feedback. That's my goal is to help a lot of the home business bait makers be successful.
Very nice! You do an awesome job! Thanks for sharing!
Thank You!! You're welcome! I hope you try the color at home!!
I will def make this color myself, good vid!
Thank You!! I can't wait to hear how it turned out!
Amazing man. Killing it as always.

You are very welcome!! and it looks AWESOME in a grub mold!!!

@@baitchuckin No thank you! Just found your channel a few weeks ago and really diggin' it. Your work is KILLER man!
I would love to see your take on Tennessee Shad! 😎
Awesome color, I love it.
Thank You! 🙏🏼
This recipe is phenomenal! I love it! Every time I see this vid my mind is blown! Love your videos. You're starting to rub off on me and it makes me want to make my own baits.
Glad you enjoy it! You should start making your own baits!! Nothing better than catching a fish on a bait you made yourself!!!
Nice color man! Great video 🤙
Thanks for rolling through brother!!!
Great color will definitely be pouring this one.....how about a good Tin Foil match
Crappie slayer that is cool thanks for recipe
No problem 👍
I wish more people would share their colors

Great information on this channel. Also try Worlds worst fishing and Sweet boys outdoors these guys are more than happy to help with questions
Both amazing channels! I follow them both!!
Glad to see you make it through that international holiday! 🤪
It was a tough one but we pulled through! LOL
@@baitchuckin Right there with ya, minus the content of course. I'll get there soon enough.
Can't wait! Let me know when you start making content!!
Awesome color!! You nailed the color!! I love the channel!! I’d like to try it in crappie baits!! Thanks for sharing Michael!!
Good Stuff!! This should look great in some Crappie molds!!
Mr. M you have this knack for making my peasized Cajun brain spinning hotter " Den dem hushpuppies in hot oul ."
Pigments with pigments equal pigmentation. ( yea i just made that up but you know what i mean.) Very informative video. I enjoy you assisting us in cutting out some unnecessary steps but at the same time slapping some AH HA moments of genius on us. I'm thinking of starting a Go Fund me page for you to recoup some of your plastisol. If all of your viewers send in the usual subscription that YT charges, instead of this month's free subscriptions, it could be paid for in.... well real fast but my Cajun brain hurts from all this thinking.. you do the math. Remember that after all this brain work, leave some time to
GEAUX FISH.
HA HA awesome stuff!!! No need for the Go fund me I can afford the plastisol it's ok! I finally got out and had some fun on the water. We had 13 fish in the boat yesterday, it was a good time!! Now on to the next video!! Thanks for floating through Rory! Cheers!
Way back in the day Rebel made a color they called crawdad in a ringworm that was very similar but without the flake that was a killer out here on the Cal Delta. Great looking baits you made. Thanks for sharing.
Well that's great to hear!! I'll be out fishing these all weekend!! Let's hope they still do good on the Delta!!
Thanks a million! Sorry for bugging so much on IG for this!
I can’t shoot it but can open pour, it’s going in my jackhammer right away! And very worm and finesse worm.
You're very welcome! I hope the video was worth the wait for you!
Chameleon is awesome.....I always gotta remeber to seperate them from my non bleed baits.......well done!
Cool content
Right on, Thanks for the comment!! Yeah Chameleon is an awesome color! one of my favorites!
Very dope nice job brother
Thank you!!
The colors are now on the list on my next order definitely gonna be a killer color for crappie and definitely looking forward for more of the changeables and color combinations in the future.
Oh we're just getting started! Lots more to come!!
@@baitchuckinalso what’s the chartreuse number for the alternative
For the Alternate it's Lureworks Chartreuse Dye 107 www.ispikeit.com/product/258/chartreuse-dye-107
@@baitchuckin ok thanks. When I heard it goes from yellow to pink my mind instantly went to something like pink lemonade
Awesome video as always! You just made Lureworks some money off of me haha!
Yeah the chameleon is awesome!! But you gotta have the MF Green Chartreuse to really set it off!!
Sick!
It's an awesome color!!
I have some glow in the dark powders from Seisso that I use on my tumblers. I did a practice run with it and came out ok. I did one with just the powder and some with a pinch of sparkle violet from lure works. Wasn’t sure if I need to put glitter in it because it’s for night fishing!
Glow in the dark powders can be fun!!
@@baitchuckin does it matter if I put flakes in it? Not sure if fish can still see the flakes in the dark?
@@baitchuckin I have a question on 3.8” crazy hog cavity. When I inject this mold, not all of the real thin areas aren’t getting the plastisol to it and I was just wondering if maybe I’m doing it to slow and it’s starts settling up before it gets to the bottom part of the mold? My temp is always at 350 degrees when injecting the mold.
@@chrishebert3240 Yes you should still be able to see them.
@@chrishebert3240 You could be going slow, or the mold could be too cold which is in turn cooling the plastic quickly. Also perhaps try apply a bit more pressure and hold the pressure for a few seconds. Each mold is different, you're going to need to learn the little quirks on how to shoot each mold, no matter what company it is.
Good stuff. I ordered the colorants to make this. I’m going to attempt it with Limetreuse instead of the MF color. Hopefully it works out or else I’m going to be making another colorant purchase in the near future 😂
I can already tell you that the Limetreuse combination won't work, you will end up at army green quickly. I've tried it. You really do need those two specific colorants in order to get the effect to work properly. Let me know how it turns out in the end! Cheers!!
Hog salad 3.8 inch gilly shad and bellows Gill
Those are some GREAT molds!!! I have the regular Gilly molds and I can tell you this color looks AMAZING in the Gilly. Cheers!!
Hello. Im from Sweden and I loves the colour 🤩 I want to tried that. But have some trouble find the colours u mention in the video. Can u maybe send a link to every colour so i know what to buy 🥰
Love your videos and sends a big hug and love for your channel ❤️🔥
Hello, if you check the video at 9:55 I put the exact recipe on the screen, but I'll put the links for you here too.
You can get the Chameleon from Lureworks: www.ispikeit.com/category/35/lureworks
You can get the Green Chartreuse from MF Manufacturing: www.m-fmanufacturing.com/
@@baitchuckin thank u so much 🥰
New sub🎉🎉
Thank You for the new sub!!! Welcome!!!
??? Hello & Good Day Mr. SIr.... would that be the Calif Delta ??? If so Are ya Far From Ripon ?? and Ya Gotta Luv watching Adam from SDG 😎 .. enjoyed your Video !! luv the energy 🤠 👊 ( learned to tie jigs about a yr ago from watching Adam...got Into Air brushing lures about 2 months ago 👍 but I think I'll leave the Mad Scientist Plastic Pouring alone I'd have to get rid Of the wife to make more room LoL...
Thanks for watching! Yes, I’m referring to the California Delta. My boat is out of Isleton, so I’m usually fishing the northern central Delta with the occasional run down to Franks Tract.
@@baitchuckin (weekday warrior here Monday & Tuesdays are my fish'n days ) I keep saying I'm gonna venture out and launch out of different ramps / places other than Ladds but i get stuck on stupid LoL and end up back at Ladds 🙄... or Melones , Tulloch Or Hogan....Only time I've been to Isleton was for the Crawdad Fest before Covid Shut down ....I'd like to learn to fish the Delta better maybe just spend some time driving around ...CHUCK'n & WINDING 😎
Sweet color! Have you fished them yet? What water colors would you recommend them for?
Yes, we fish this color all the time. The smallmouth love it in a slick swim profile. It's a nice crossover color that will work in low to moderate visibility. The chartreuse helps it in muddy water with 1-2 ft visibility, and I would say it works up to about 6-8 ft visibility. Much beyond that you need some translucent realistic profiles I think when it's super clear.
@@baitchuckin Sweet. Thanks for taking the time to respond.
You’re Welcome 🤙🏼
Love the color, thank you for sharing. Will this only work with the MF green chartreuse?
Yes, I've found you need to use this exact pairing to get the desired effect.. I mean you can use another green chartreuse, but the effect will be less than stellar...
4.6 neko crawler
Ohh that's a great choice!!!
Great video, Man. Is there any way to get the pinkish purple parts of this color to look more junebug?
Yes, you can add in more purple. few drops will go a long ways!! I recommend using Black Grape to add more purple..
@@baitchuckin okay cool. Thank you!
Did you ever do a color match to the Zoom Houdini?
No I haven't done that yet, but that's a great color!!!! Great video idea!!!
8:02
Experienced this with an orange I was trying to make. Looked great when shot, then 3 days later looked like puke (literally)
Yeah it happens a lot! Not all pigments are compatible with each other.
Out of curiosity have you tired that lureworks chameleon cut with motoroil changeable
No I have not tried that yet. Now you have me curious 🧐
@Baitchuckin the joys of bait making and the ideas a person can come up with. If your a fan of the huckleberry color I have a pretty decent mix for it. I no you have one of the colors that violet grape changeable. I don't know if you have scuppernog and lureworks watermelon
@@tysonmcclellan7108 Yes I have all of those colors you mentioned!
I unfortunately don't have a facebook account. Messaging me on IG is the best way to get a hold of me.
Would dead on plastix charture work?
No, I tried it and ended up with army green. Colors are very particular when mixing together, that's why I try and give EXACT recipe's for people to use.
The OG's knows the Power Rangers had THE OOZE down first !
HA HA I remember that now, my boys grew up watching power rangers! Mystic Force was the favorite around our household.
I thought this was a MMPR reference
Power Rangers? Naw you got to go back farther than that. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had the ooze.
@@f1lthyskillz426 yessss but it was just green MMPR ooze was a purpley blue pink color
@@dyingslowly666 I don’t remember that, going to have to watch some old MMPR.
What logo is that on your apron?
It’s the logo for my bait company, 8 Bit Baits. That’s the 8 Bit Squid 🦑
I’m trying to find the glitter for this recipe. The blue highlte I can’t find. Is there a alternate glitter of you have a item number with the company you get it from?
Which recipe are you referring to? You left this comment on The Ooze video and this recipe doesn’t have blue highlite.
@@baitchuckin I’m sorry, it’s the moon dust.
@@baitchuckin I’m assuming the blue highlite is a glitter! Lol
@@baitchuckin when you mention flake glitter, is that something different from fine or medium glitter in size?
@@chrishebert3240 No, highlite powder and glitter/flake are two very different things. But again, this recipe doesn't have any blue in it for the Ooze. I didn't know if you had a question on a particular color recipe or not.
Is it bad to keep reusing your plugs and extra plastic baits over and over again?
No you can continue to re=melt your plastic, however the colors may fade and the glitter may deteriorate from multiple re-heats so just keep an eye on it, but you're usually good for a few reheats without any ill effects.
??? Can you do the ooze in some panfish molds
I sure can!!! Like some Crappie Slayers?
@Baitchuckin every single mold you have lol can you do the 2.3 prey bait mold in ooze I really want to see what it would look like
I'm thinking of getting the preybait mold for my first mold, currently getting sent a sample of the two sizes. I've gotten into bfs caught a 22in trout on a 2.5 swimbait two days ago 4-5lb bass so much fun
Very Nice!!! I don't have the 2.3" Prey Bait mold yet. I do have the 3" Prey Bait!! 3" Prey is a great bait on a Okashira screw head, and the 4" and 3" slick swims are great replacements for the 3" and 4" Keitech Easy Shiner.
I can shoot the 3" for you, I don't have the 2.3" Prey yet.
Another great color my wife is going to block your channel if I don’t stop buying more colors
Ha ha No No tell her not to block the channel!!! Just let her know you're using the discount code so you're at least buying everything on sale! LOL
two words, black background
I'm not sure what you mean? As in the black background is good or bad?
@@baitchuckin the black background gives a better effect to the changing colors, paint the top layer of the changing colors with a brush, let it cool, then pour the black in the middle, I'm currently making a 3d model that I'm doing in fusion 360 and one of your videos gave me a great idea how will I make a fish tail, thank you, I ordered mirror chameleons pigment of different colors, in order for that color to be visible you need a black background behind that color, changing colors need a black background for a better effect
Ahh ok. Yes, now that gives me another idea!! Now I want to shoot some core shot worms with a black center, I bet that will look awesome!!! 🙌🏼@@endscreen1shorts478
Is that the lure work 154
I don't know what color you're referring to? I have the exact colors listed in the video description.
