This update is a middle finger to anybody who thought Terraria wasn't worthy for the Steam's 2020 Labor of Love award. Absolutely phenomenal.

Y’know, for the longest time I assumed it was guaranteed for a solar eclipse to start if you try to skip a blood moon and vice versa as like, a punish mechanic, just because of how often it happened to me. It came as a surprise to know I was just exceptionally unlucky. It’s great to see enchanted sundial was buffed to mitigate that occurrence!
Due to how probability works, almost every terraria player who has played for a long period of time will have experienced this phenomena. Me included!

Re:Logic actively listens to their community more than any single other studio. Every single request, suggestion, was given thought, and they didn’t do anything completely game-changing without consulting the community first. I truly believe that this is why they have made what I believe is the best game in the world.
They even made an r/terraria painting! This company really cares about the community

PS. btw they also added Helium Moss, which is a glowing rainbow moss you get from throwing any glowing moss into shimmer.
They also added Galaxy Pearls that permanently increase your Luck. You get them from throwing specifically Pink Pearls into shimmer too.
A ton of other permanent boosts from shimmer items as well

Golden worm
Any fruit
Mana crystal
I started to like building things after the labor of love update because one feature.
A certain liquid that can get rid of unused items and refund you with materials.
I've long wanted a way to do something to get rid of Wooden Beams without them just being flat out resource waste...

so glad to hear about the rope connecting through platforms, I always hated that disconnect when building things like bridges!!!
I didn't know about the Sundial changes until now, but I'm so glad they added these changes. When I was making my base a while ago, I got several Solar Eclipses and Blood Moons back-to-back, and it was a huge pain.
Enchanted moondial acts same so you can skip bloodmoons
Truly a labor of love update. It's hard to think of any other developers that listen to the community as much as the people in Relogic do.

my favorite addition as a non journey mode builder is the Rod of Harmony, so useful as it won't damage you or give the chaos debuff at all!
for anyone wondering, it's obtained by throwing a rod of discord into a pool of shimmer, (the new liquid) it also has to be post moon lord
pretty sure it consumes cash, but by the point you get to ml you already got a bunch of it or maybe a farm for it

I’ve had a BLAST building in this new update, and I’m still learning about new features or items added. I really love this game so much.
Khaios, May I suggest dipping your RoD, an angel statue, a fruit, and the Skeleton Merchant into the new Shimmer liquid? Trust me, you won’t regret it. (The Artsian’s Bread is superb for builders).
I'm waiting to do that for the video that covers it ;D I'm working on compiling that video, but it'll be a biggun and so I have some smaller ones coming out over the next few days, first, hehe. I can't wait!

You get it from the Skeleton merchant when he’s dipped in the Shimmer liquid. From memory, it increases building range and crafting access range

This been said many times, but I still love how this shows how they care are about players
Mostly about planter boxes
Their main use in theory isnt to be used as standard platform but In practice some parts are just better, and now they made them even better, adding things that in theory arent needed for them
Worth mentioning the planter box change for hangables seemingly works on Platforms too, I love that change!

I love how you find cool building techniques out of almost anything
All the builder changes are remarkable, but I think the hanging banners and lanterns from platforms excites me the most.
Can't wait for the video on Shimmer.
Not only does it provide a TON of new items, but I'm curious to see how you use it in a build. It sort of reminds me of the Fountain of Dreams from Kirby (particularly the Smash version), so maybe a build inspired by that would be cool?
I’m so grateful for the stack size increase and also making some unstackable items now stackable, such as the Guide voodoo doll. No more having your inventory filled with stacks of gel, and no more having five chests dedicated to voodoo dolls

Super Underrated feature with equipping monoliths!!!!!
Vanity slot Echo vision!!!
The echo goggles don't work in the vanity accessory slots, but the echo chamber monolith does!
This is such an amazing change that I now have to always have two open slots for a monolith and a music box.
My favorite part of the void bag is quickstashing from it. I just made a storage network of junk chests to just throw everything into that isn't going into my main chests.

I noticed you still have a Rod Of Discord, if you're not in Journey, that Chaos State is going to be very annoying, throw it into the new Shimmer liquid for a Rod Of Harmony. You will kot gain Chaos State with it.
stack size and void bag are the best since im not a big builder. but i love them all since ppl like khaios can make even better builds with these changes

Gosh I love ReLogic, I would be willing to pay for the new update since it's so complete and amazing, but they continue to release them all for free ♡
The one thing I wish they did, was make it so you can use the rubblemaker if it’s associated items are in an open void bag, like if it’s a second inventory then why is it not working like it, and it’s not cause it selects the top left most block because they have a selection menu for it
all the new building stuff and changes are really good

im so glad about the change to ropes my base design was so cool incorporating my hellevator with rope in it but the platforms for each floor of the house interfered with it
Apart from the amazing update, it's also really good to see Khaios still hanging in the Hippie map haha
Void bag was given such a good change because I can keep all my buffs on the bag without having it occupy any space in my inventory. It helps me clean up faster when I have trash in my inventory too because I won't need to open the bag itself and clean up every so often.
Hey I already commented it on one of your tweets but just incase you miss it I discovered that you can use echo paint on mushroom tree stems to leave only the branches left and if done right it looks like mushrooms are growing off the walls.

I dunno if this was the case at the upload time but hanging items also can be hung from regular platforms even if they're in the default "upper half" state
I wish they added an Item that prevents natural events from spawning, so no blood moon or invasion. Maybe a weak version, that only lowers the chances, in early hardmode and if you throw it in the shimmer after killing moonlord it would completely prevent them.
I wonder if we’ll get another *final* update after this?

I'm going to try and get a daily upload for the next two weeks in celebration of the update, then establish a 2-3 video per week schedule after that :D

I've had a badluck chain of 2 blood nights in 2 solar eclipse events in 2 days in game when I just wanted to build
Big fan of the horizontal rope/chain items
I really really love the rope update. I use platforms minecarts and rope together a lot especially really early game. The very first thing I do is a house with a hellevator. Platforms both to delineate torch placement, my strip mine grid, and an early movement. I struggle with uneven building so It's a very nice change.
Also stack size. Probably void bag as well but I've never used it.
So by default I have to go favorite as rope and the like. Gameplay and compact building wise, it's far more impactful than any other so far
I think the rubble-maker needs to have stalagmites and stalactites.

they could have made the points on the sun disappear as an indicator on how long until you can use it again (eg 1 point missing per day until use)
I feel like you should have included an honorable mention for the increased pick-up range added to the increased mining range in the journey mode power menu.
The rope change is so amazing
the bathroom in the beginning, and the jungle house at the end, what wood are those? looks amaziiiiing!
I could be wrong but I think it's a mix of brown bamboo and the new ash wood that spawns from the new trees in the underworld.

I’m still struggling to figure out how you do the arch detailing of those teleporter doorways of the house at 1:30. Do you have a video somewhere with that included as a building tip?
I don't have a video on it, however I can easily tell you. They are honey platforms on the corners, and yellow team platform in the middle, all three painted brown and actuated. Hope that helps!

I think it would be cool if you used the rope for a cave build. Having the green vines and spider rope painted grey would be a cool idea. Plus, it could add detail and depth with the cave.

I could be wrong, but it looks kind of like the new ash wood? I can't remember it that well, but I do remember another one of his videos he was talking about how much he liked the new ash wood because of it's horizontal design
Echo chamber can work as echo goggles without limitation but you can't turn them on and off with the monolith
should use the new dye to make thing invisable to make a draw bridge for a Fortress build ,👍 seems like it would be awsome to see

The changes to the sundial are cool, but there should still also be a three day cooldown between natural Solar Eclipses and Bloodmoons (individually).
9999 max stack alone is well worth the wait for this update!

How do you get the echo coating?
People had 50 slots in inventory. Now having 40 void bags (The action bar is useful to not void bag up), you can have {(50x40)-40}+10 Inventory slots= 1970 slots

I don't know what the platforms are on the roof, but I think the main outline of the outhouse is ash wood and brown painted bamboo
Even better, you can put torches and campfires on top of planter boxes now, where you couldn't before!
What about enchanted moon dial will it reset if blood moon?
