Very full sounding organ as only Gert can produce with his talent and wit.....and I love that hymn being sung by the congregation....I can easily play along with him on my keyboard...since this piece is in C major.....!!
Wow! Absolutely amazing! Schitterende! This is so fun to watch! Opa and Oma must be so proud of Gert! And what a treat for the audience to witness the musicality that this master organist pours into the organ essentially becoming one with it, meanwhile you can see he is just having fun and enjoying himself with his favorite person sitting next to him. Just watching this makes the heart flutter. Oh what a joy it would be to be able to sit in the audience and raise your voice in unison with the music of Gert Van Hoef! Gert, along with the congregational singing this is amazing and a wonderful example of real Dutch organ mastery, where you take a song you know and love and just let it flow out from your heart. This is an interesting performance..... it is clear he loves to hear the people singing along (have seen that in other video's) he does look at his pedal work, which is FAST and furious. His posture seems to be on the tired side.

Had ik les gehad kon ik ook zo iets spelen. Nu moesten men geduld hebben met mijn spelen uit het hart.. (zouden jullie ook eens iets doen waar Marjolein zingt?) Ik weet het, moet ik even kijken op 2019 en later :)

why are u wearing headphones?
To listen at the organ from a microphone in the nave, to have a good balance between the manuals, since he can not good hear the positive in his back... Or it can also be to better hear the people singing. Or both.
I wonder though why open back headphones rather than sealed, they are delightful for listening but have a lot of bleed from the external environment
I believe since on this organ the organist is inside the organ it allows him to hear audience sing. You willnotice the smile comes when the singing does. I've seen this on one other video where Jan puts them on Gertat one point again the smile comes.

I disagree. It isn't necessary to be miserable to enjoy music - be thankful such talented young people enjoy creating such wonderful sounds. If we all were as miserable as you seem to want us to be, no new talent would ever be developed as young people want to be happy.

He's got a very weird style of playing sitting so far back from the manuals, so he can look where his feet are. Not good plus bad habits.
