    Yes it is a beautiful orchid! I too have the Patty Lyons book and it’s been sitting on my bedside table for months. But you know bedtime comes around and I usually snuggle in and watch you or the twins so there goes my reading plans lol when you work full time there just aren’t enough hours in the day.. I did buy the book because as much as I love kindle it’s on my I pad and nothing annoys me more that planning to knit with knit companion or read and lo and behold my battery is almost dead! So sorry to hear about your arthritis! Such a pain when things interfere with what you want to do. Hope you feel better soon! Love all your projects and ideas

    Great tip indeed! I also have the same question about knitting the short row stich when coming back from the other side, by using the Japanese method you can solve it more easy I found out on CZcams.

      I agree that the Japanese Short row method for this stitch is definitely better than Wrap and Turns.

    I didn’t like my bobbles on the Peggy sweater either. I used a different technique for bobble. Then on the purl side when I got to bobble stitch, I lifted the horizontal bar from back to front, then knit it together with bobble stitch. Much nicer, no gaps.

      @mostlyknitting  Před měsícem

    Love the cardigan colors and the Poppy Tee! Patty's book is good especially in the way that she breaks down what is happening with the stitches, or the "why" as she likes to point out. It gave me clarity on why my gauge swatches don't match for rows--not that I do it "wrong" but what I am doing when I knit. Really interesting. I have tried several of the tricks/tips from the book (including the short row one) and have liked some and use them now, and others I have not found them much different in result from what I already do, so haven't bothered using them. It's definitely a great resource to turn to for those situation moments. Hope your aches ease up soon! Look after yourself and happy knitting (and yarn shopping!).

    I can relate re the bobbles Tash. I made a little ladybird cardi which was supposed to incorporate the bobbles within the pattern but instead I knit the cardigan in plain stockinette in red and then crocheted on the black bobbles which worked really well. It was VERY cute! On the current jumper I've been knitting, the neckline only had one row of main colour before the corrugated ribbing so it bent over a little bit and the floats showed which I didn't like very much. So rather than wrestle with unpicking the cast on to knit up a couple of rows, I did a few rounds of single crochet and it has worked a treat! I hope you manage to sort out your arthritis medication Tash. Thanks for another great episode.🥰

  • @bluejay5531

    Hi Tash! that cardigan!! so in love with it and that is one of my favorite colors…I would love that in my wardrobe but it seems very involved…the color of the poppy tee is my current crush I bought a similar color (I think from the screen) in knitting for olive raw silk, I wonder if it slightly more orangey. as for cardiff cashmere (not sponsored) I love it, I made a beautiful scarf with it, for my dad, from purl soho with a herringbone stitch and it is gorgeous, and am currently trying to finish an old style classic men’s cardigan, with cables, I would say it may be too « soft » for the cardigan, I should have chosen a yarn with more toothy wool maybe but hopefully it will be fine. I had stocked up from a website a few years ago that I cannot find anymore it was on sale. it really is worth trying. sending you healing vibes in hopes the arthrites goes in remission…suggestion don’t call it « yours » 🙏🏻 release it as something passing by…I know that sounds « newagey » but it maked sense at a deep level, especially with chronic conditions that we tend to identify with (I have this issue myself, which is why I am consciously wirking on it) 🙌🏻💚

      @mostlyknitting  Před měsícem +1

      Thank you so much Barbara for your thoughts on the Cardiff cashmere and also the condition I am managing at the moment. I really appreciate that thought about not identifying with the issue. Hi there, fantastic podcast. I feel tired for you because you are so committed to your work. When you were thinking about a tutorial for waist shaping and possibly Princess Darts, that would be great.
    Do you have a tutorial for what to do if you use a pattern for DK weight but keep the pattern and use Sport weight yarn. I have a lovely pattern designed by Emily Bolduan from Maker Maker for a Raglan jumper and I would love to knit it in Sport weight. I have been trying to find out how to change sometimes so I can but not sure what.

Great tip on the provisional cast on btw. I’ve just started my first Oslo but not yet at the top of the fold. Also started some skimmer socks. These are both new to me so I’m making them as “test” pieces. Hoping the turn out ok. Like the look of the Sabai top. Might investigate that pattern.
