It's obviously a very high risk tactic but when armies where still in the low thousands and not well disciplined, it could demoralize a good chunk of the infantry.

I'm not sure. Your Guan Yu has to sort of level up faster and must have equipped evasion based ancillaries. Otherwise, in early contact I don't think even with the large evasion subtraction from the halberd, Lu Bu still clapped Guan Yu. This is just the odd out of the many tries you attempted between the 2.
What I did not understand about the duel in this game is what's up with all the spinning movement? Anyone who did HEMA, kendo or those would know that spinning is no no.
Guan Yu in ROTK can't even beat Lu Bu with Liu Bei and Zhang Fei ganging together and yet over here, he could end Lu Bu despite suffering heavy damage. Suuuuure....
@@alphonsusfuller7163 I wouldn't really count it as glorious victory for Guan Yu though. Lu Bu were already fighting thousands of soldiers as well fought against Cao Cao and other officers of the coalition before the 4 of them fought. They just exhausted him and that's it.
It's kinda the other way around, while Lu Bu isn't as strong as novel made him to be,he's still strong enough to be nicknamed "flying general" and "man among man" while guan yu get god of war title long after his death or even three kingdom era,infact liu shan out of all people straight up call him overrated

How do you even get lubu in custom?
you have to first win the campaign or fight Dong Zhuo head on
