- Well, I have to thank HBO for dropping this new House of the Dragon Season 2 trailer so soon after Amazon's Season 2 Rings Of Power trailer. It helps illustrate the difference between an awesome show made with care and attention to detail, and a cheap fanfic fantasy cash grab. This season looks so epic!

I loved season 1. I was coming off my 3-year hiatus from any GoT content and hadn't rewatched any of the episodes since the finale of the original show aired. I kept seeing the trailer for HotD, so I saw HBO was going to run a couple of seasons of GoT in order. I clicked on it just as the cold open of season 7 started and I was reminded how f'n good GoT used to be. Araya bringing winter to House Frey, dam!!
This looks great and Matt Smith is fantastic.
Yeah, the quality of the trailer speaks for itself. Presenting proper context and laying a foundation with good writing and narration. Building to reveal some pretty epic production value at the end. I've been worried about this season but a bit less now.

I look forward to it quite a lot. The only slight worry I have is Rhaenyra, they often seemed to make changes in the first season to make her look better and have her be innocent of the crimes the blacks commit (like how Daemon now kills Vaemond instead of Rhaenyra feeding him to her dragon). I hope they don't do that again in season 2. I already see a lot of people online going around practically worshipping Rhaenyra as the perfect innocent heroine who never did anything wrong, and I really don't like that. It's not how any character in this universe should be.
Maybe they're just setting us up for when she falls from grace.

In regards to rings of power, I'm fairly sure I nailed it with my prediction that the magic-using mystic would turn back from the butterflies. In my ideal season 2, she would get as much focus as Gollum in LOTR.
Not the same mystic tho. In Rhun and in the east dark magic sorcery was prevalent and they worshipped morgoth

I actually think the rings of power trailer was the more interesting of the two. House of the dragon was just more of same.

@@kristymcdowell6185 Indeed which just shows how many squares HBO attracts now. Doesn't it make a decent show. The writing was mediocre and sensationalism/shock value(like the part where a dragon blasts out of the ground in the finale) doesn't help. Major plot hole in fact as the book didn't have that scene
@@Monk_Chud I like how they don’t have to follow everything little thing the book does. I actually like to be surprised. You Can tell the put a lot of effort and money into this series. When it’s all said and done I think this will be a crazy, outstanding series that people will remember
