- Hear the F404's roar as the US Navy's Blue Angels F-18's depart runway 31L at Seattle's Boeing Field in formation on 31 July 2009. They were in town as part of the annual Seafair festivities.
They put in a great show !

Great video. I haven't seen them take 2 #7s up for a practice. They usually take up one #7 as the slot, at least in Seattle, for a practice day.. Thanks.

The only team I have seen taking off in formation. Seeing as that was 11 years ago since it was posted, 12 since it was shot - I am guessing something happened and they don't do that anymore. No one else does either.
Yep they still take off like this . They don't do the split S maneuver anymore after the horrible accident in Tennessee a few years ago.

Perhaps the pilots feel a little bit unchallenged and wish they could be allowed to do it again. I for one am very happy it is not in the program, which tells me it's safe to come watch what they do. Not that everything else isn't terribly dangerous - it is - but they are do those in their sleep! Safely.
Honestly they look more handsome than F-22. Just imagine f-22 was 4th generation olane and out of nowhere they came up with these planes. You'd say they looked amazing
