    I have scrapped these out myself. To save cut off discs, I cut around the top like you but then only make one cut down the side. They will usually come out this way. Sometimes I have to tap a chisel into the cut to open up the housing a little

    I glad you are cutting them to take the copper out , it's definitely worth doing so many scrappers don't and just had them in without taking the copper out. I do the same with motors as well.

    • @haynillesen

      instead off the cutoff disc you could try a jackhammer with a spade-blade , i ve seen very good results. Your copper extractor is the best hand-operated i have seen so far

    I knew you had a big job from the moment i saw all them compressors, top effort thats for sure im guessing from them 12 motors removed you will have between 25kg and 35kg in nice burnt copper.

    Hey i do the same thing as I’m tearing the compressors apart. I have a couple questions.. how long does the cutting wheel last for you (i use a diamond cutting wheel but it has a lot of kick to it so not super safe but last a lomg time) so is it worth buying them? And second could you show a video of how you put your winding extractor together.. that is the most effective and efficient way i have yet to see and i would like to make one myself if you wouldn’t mind taking your ideas.. thank you and I’m so glad i found your channel!

    • @simplescrapping
      @simplescrapping  Před 2 lety

      Thank you my friend.... For the small compressors I would say that I need 1 wheel (not all)... For the big compressors i use the big grinder and it takes me 1/2 of the wheel......

    Let's see.For the time and labor spent breaking down the motor to get the few pounds of Copper out I'd say you make right around...give or take a little....Ummm probably about $3.
