      @@GabrielaFavre From this absolutely incredible player Benedetti exists other recordings of Debussy´s music. Pieces that are like 100 times more difficult,... actually I didn´t find mistakes there. In this relatively easy one he actually plays some wrong notes ... I actually couldn´t believe it haha ...maybe he was to lazy to do one more take. He indeed was one of the most nerdy perfectionists of all times... >I< If you want to listen to something really awful difficult played by him - listen to Brahms Paganini Variations or more easy listening Ravel´s Piano Concerto in G major :-)

      @@elvioliniste You can submit a perfect homework assignment, if the requirement is to copy a simple page of addition and subtraction. You can notate a perfect C Major scale in treble clef, if the requirement is that all notes from middle to the next highest C be present. Well, maybe you can't do it, but I know I could do both perfectly.

    This particular suite always remind me of Mozart in some ways. Not for its style of course, but for its exigency. Without being technically the most difficult pieces ever, I consider them to be tremendously tough to make sound as effortless and soft as ABM does for example. A bit like Mozart's sonatas !
    Really, to me it requires the very best pianists to get it right

    • @ulengrau6357
      @ulengrau6357 Před rokem +2

      Surely you don't think this is on par with most of Mozart's sonatas... I can picture a 12yo playing this perfectly and without further need for maturity, but I just can't see the same for Mozart. I mean, if we're talking about playing beyond just precision and right notes/pedaling. Can you imagine a child understanding, just as an example, Mozart's A minor?

    • @szdxw
      @szdxw Před rokem +13

      @@ulengrau6357 you need to overcome every difficulties to understand simplicity. It’s probably the highest level of musical maturity. There is no child who can play children’s corner with that simplicity. Children’s corner are definitely not a technical challenge but a musical one.

    En fait c'est assez rare les interprètes classiques qui sont beaux à voir. Parce que là, il dégage beaucoup de sérénité et de décontraction. Il en rajoute pas (pas comme certains qui sont ridicules avec leur gestuelle exagérée et leurs mimiques qui sont censées apporter je ne sais quoi à la musique). Michelangeli est même drôle à force d'être placide ( notamment dans les croisements de main qui sont beaux à regarder).

But otherweise absolutly wonderful and almost flawless.

    Michelangeli had an aristocratic bearing at the piano---along with a subtle mastery of phrasing, dynamics, and pedaling that few pianists ever achieve. And he managed to do it without the histrionics, the fake acting, and false expression that cheapen today's crop of pianists like Lang Lang and Yuja Wang. This is Debussy at the highest level.
