That was indeed fucking awesome!
So blown away with all of these songs!
This was the first Grace Petrie video clip I saw just over two years ago...two days after having been at Shrewsbury Folk Festival and unfortunately I was obviously in the wrong tent. Her music has meant so much to me and of course to so many others...I'm just glad I have the privilege to see her play in a couple days time. Of course the new album is brilliant, however I have a glimmer of hope that she randomly decides to unleash this masterpiece from the back catalogue. Slim to nil chance I know but Grace instills the hope and keeps the fire burning 🔥🙏❤️
What is your favourite from connectivity? Mine has to be Great Central Way however my favourite of all time has to be How Long Has It Been/ The Topshop Song
Wonderful...💖💕💖
"i tried selling out ... but nobody bought" - just made me snort tea. Superb - love her lyrics.
Always incredible! I'm ridiculous but most of Grace's songs make me cry! I think it's because I remember how I felt before I knew folk had fighters like this!
You need to listen to some of the folk protest singers from the 60s. Donovan's The War Drags on and Universal Soldier are a great place to start. (Listen to Cat Stevens/Yusef Islam and Leonard Cohen, too!) For new and unsigned, I'd really recommend Alex Adlington czcams.com/video/oOqJif68BPI/video.html :-)
@@DenWench Thanks mate! I just saw this - Appreciated! (What a daft comment on my part - you can tell I grew up with the kind of folk who went to Whitby ;-) ) Sum total knowledge of protest songs was the 80s take on 'Dominion of the Sword'!
When I try to sing along to Ivy my voice warbles a bit...I can play a decent version of Pride but often struggle to actually sing the lyrics before the final verse without choking up. It does take the gloss off the performance and as a straight person I don't even have the excuse of relating to the struggle of the Pride movement!
Finally someone who gets me. Grace often brings several tears to my eyes but my friends just make fun of me for it and call her “the dreaded peach tree that your obsessed with” so knowing that there’s someone the same makes me feel better
Great song !
Grace is fantastic. She's definitely my next british concert when I'll come again in UK
just great!
I was directed to Black Tie, because of a funny Icarus comment made on Twitter. I've been listening to Grace for the last half an hour...this is the latest song I've come across. Loving them all! I've always loved folk music, but there's not enough people doing it (well) at the moment. I'm glad to have found another artist to listen to! Now I just need to find some physical CDs to buy, as I don't do digital downloads! (I'm old and stuck in my ways!)
I love this chick so very much!!
Fucking brilliant.
She's so cute! & So fucking awesome!!!
"cool enough for Eire... fuck, you are sister and welcome on the Falls💚🤍💛...NO PASARAN!
Invited to Cambridge Folk in 2018! Go Grace...
