those Pikachu molds are so common because they were made from a legit set of figures from the 90s, I remember having a few of them as a kid

it looks really nice, but the color of the wings bother me a lot. they look burned up and charred and not really like his actual wings.

There was a Famicom game, Harry's Legend. Basically a hack of TITENIC (of the JonTron fame ).
The cards at 3:11 with the text "皮卡超" are not legit. That text means "Pikachao" or "Pika Super" in Chinese whereas the correct text for Pikachu in Japanese should be "ピカチュウ". It wouldn't make sense for a card to have the front in Japanese yet back text in Chinese anyway.

Actually in Japan they usually do Mandarin Chinese or English when they want an item to look exotic while in the USA, products like clothing and toys will sometimes have Japanese text to look exotic.

That set of Chinese characters in the eggsecutor pencil is actually the Nintendo logo in Japanese kanji. I first saw that in the Japanese version of Kirby's Dreamlamd 3.

Those Japanese "story" cards DID exist as a legit product, but it looks like the ones you have are bootlegs of them. I have one I got from a Japanese kid that lived in my neighborhood (he's also where I got most of my regular Japanese Pokemon cards). I don't think the real ones were stickers (at least, mine isn't), and the one I have is made out of a hard plasticky material or is laminated somehow and just feels like a very nice product.

I love Cardass. Sometimes I like to whip out my deck and slam that Cardass - right on the table. Other times, I work my Cardass slowly and reveal things a little at a time. One time I let a friend play with my Cardass. It didn't go too well.

Can confirm that the purple Charizard/Aerodactyl thing was around in Gen1-era, because I remember it and I didn't so much as look as a Pokemon toy since Gen1.

I remember seeing a bootleg set being sold at a mall kiosk years ago, but the figures were oddly transparent.
An old friend of mine had some of those. They were not only translucent, but often came in weird, incorrect colors (like a purple Charizard). Weird stuff. She swore they were legit but, uh... no. I don't know why translucent plastic is such a common thing in bootleg toys. I'm guessing it's cheaper?

Living in Quebec in the 90s, we had magazines from, Canada, the US and France. From reading the French magazines, cardass cards were very popular in France, especially the DBZ cards.
We didn't get these cool cards in Quebec, though...of course...

Oh yeah, Carddass! I know them for their Mega Man (both Classic and X) cards that actually had original artwork, and even some original characters in the case of the X ones (each set/series also had a story, but they weren't exactly Shakespeare.) One of my favorites is probably the one of Terra and Sunstar where Terra looks really small.

Those stories were taken from the REALLY early Pokemon Adventures manga series by Toshihiro Ono. In the end, Ash and Gary go off to continue with their Pokemon adventures but before the stories end, James gives Ash's mother a letter telling her that he's okay. The intro to the short comic is a shot of Jesse and James, Jesse pimping a wedding ring, out of their TR garb and seemingly in a better life with a flying car and Meowthy chilling in the background.
I DON'T KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BUT YES. IT IS AN OFFICIAL MANGA AND IT WAS PUBLISHED IN ENGLISH BY VIZ. THIS EXIST.

I'd wager that's supposed to be an Aerodactyl. The tail looks more like Aerodactyl's and it only has wings, no arms (while Dragonite had both arms and wings, like Charizard should).

Ah Pokémon bootlegs, probably the first bootlegs I ever came across in my life since, being a kid at the time, I was of course the target audience. And it could be pretty difficult to know if something was a bootleg or not because some of the legit merchandise was so damn weird to begin with.
I was actually hoping Phelous could shed some light on whether or not those weird sticker cards were bootlegs. Dammit. I know stores in my area often sold those so I _think_ they were legit? But then again even if they were there probably were some bootlegs of those anyway.
I found some bootleg Pokémon toys at Pacific Mall
and then demon Pikachu returned 6 years later ! and somehow these bootlegs seem to always be my age....for some reason

Those cards are legit. The pencil toppers could go either way. The letters on them say Nintendo but they are poorly painted. The watch and figures (except for the real charizard) are definitely fake.

those Cardass you have there appear to be fake. they look very blurry, and don't appear to be from one bootleg set.
also, Cardass are usually stickers. at least the old Sailor Moon sets along with the new ones are, last I checked.

So that may have just been a cheapo product made in China for Nintendo back in the day.
