  • Our unique modular pergola system is like "lego" for adults. You can customize your shade structure with standard 4x4 wood posts of 8ft, 10ft and 12ft lengths. Structures can be as small as 8x8 over a hotub or can be infinite in size to cover a big commercial patio or events! Check out our instagram for more ideas tojagrid

    What is the actual dimension of a 10 x 12 sail as marked on the box. Is it actually 10 x 12 or less and how much less.

      Make sure your wood has dried. Wet wood expands. I used an orbital sander to smooth the corners and ends on any wood that was still too snug. Super easy. Not drying out the wood is 99% of the reason why it won’t fit.

      @@TheTimeRunners How long do you need to let it dry assuming you bought pressure treated lumber from Lowe’s or Home Depot?

    • @TheTimeRunners
      @TheTimeRunners Před 3 lety

      @@oneaburns I let it dry for three weeks. I’d recommend using one of the Toja bases to figure out when you’ve dried them long enough. If they fit then you’re there. Don’t make the mistake others have made by trying to rush the job by severely sanding. It’s a marathon not a sprint.

    Shouldn't the four posts attached to something more sturdy than the deck boards?

      We always recommend securing down your build using the appropriate mounting hardware and practices, given your ground surface.

    What screws are used for bracket on the bottom?

    • @tojagrid
      @tojagrid  Před 2 lety

      The mounting hardware required will vary given your ground surface. The mounting holes on the 4x4 Solo’s are 1/4 inch (0.375") and the mounting holes on the 6x6 Solo’s are 1/2 inch. Please consult your local hardware store as they can best guide you, with respect to your ground surface and required mounting techniques.

    In Florida the sail idea looks great but doesn't work due to high winds, afternoon thunder storms, and , of course, hurricanes. Save yourself a lot of anguish and add a permanent lightweight roofing solution. This gives you protection from the rain and you never have to worry about the canopy tearing or ripping due to high winds. The shade cloth that comes with the product is not water proof so if it's raining you get wet. It's designed to keep the sun off of you not the rain or snow. It's easy to attach a lightweight roofing material. This is not a cheap product but I likely saved 5-7 hours of work using the preconfigured unions. They work great and look good compared to drilling, placing in toggle bolts, and tightening every year.

      We strongly recommend disconnecting and taking down the Shade Sail before winter and large storms, they're primarily designed for shade.
